  1. You dont need a folder just right click the object and select "Edit". On the General Tab it will show the creator.
  2. What you buy in SL is almost always from an invidual like yourself and not Linden Labs. Right click the object and look up the creator to get more information on that creation.
  3. Relentless Wren Fashions came up for me but no problem as you stated. Did you put the others in your keywords (Relentless, Relentless Wren)?
  4. Art from Trash! I FREAKING LOVE IT! :matte-motes-kiss:
  5. It's a coin toss as neither are very good for gaming. HP EliteBook 8560w, i7-2630QM (2.0GHz/6MB), 8GB 1333 2D, 500GB 7200 2.5", 15.6 LED FHD AG, 1GB AMD M5950, DVD±RW, Centrino a/b/g/n 3x3, BT, TPM+FS, 720p HD webcam, Win7 Pro 64, OS10, 8-Cell 83Wh, 3/3/3 I would never get a graphics card with less than 1024 memory and i would not try to run SL on less than a 2 GB processor or with less than 4 GB RAM or better. Most of your lag comes from bad graphics processing and over intenseive graphics that people use in SL.
  6. in their profile, select Pay. To delete an account, select Delete Account in your online profile from the Second Life website. To learn more about the basic functions in SL, you can use Help in the UI or read the Knowledge base.
  7. After looking at it, I see no reason either. You may want to open a ticket and see what they say.
  8. Texture work for me usually means making my own textures that align correctly and moreover, shadow correctly for the build. As such, I more often find that it's preferable to just make the textures you need and when doing this, you can make an entire pack that aligns correctly. You may not find a good texture artist willing to go through the agony of aligning someone else's textures and may be why you aren't;t getting many responses to your post. I might suggest looking at another house that has better texture work. I currently have a prefab for sale at my store for 111 L where the textures are all done specifically for each surface and all align with shadows baked in. You can go to Malibu Lighting and Design on the Design Center sim to see it.
  9. The physics from your land mesh have not aligned to the mesh. A restart will fix it.
  10. Seeing your set up, I might suggest you get more memory. SL is graphically intensive as most builders are not professionals and use very high res images, often way too much for your graphics card and memory. It also looks like you are running 32 bit software on a 64 bit processor. You may want to install Windows 7 64 Bit but you wont have be able to until you increase your memory. I don't know what you are using for your graphics card other than its an Nvidia Driver but I recommend no less than 1024 GB. I turn two 1024's bridged as a crossfire and 12 GB of Ram. Lag is a stranger to me.
  11. OK, all great ideas and I implemneted some of your ideas. As for my giving away my freebies, I made a special Grand Opening Table Clock and added it to the mix. I also added a few low cost items at $L50 and a prefab home I had been waiting to release for $L 111. Tore down my old store except a sign that says that this is my store and a landmark giver to the new store. I shut off my ad for the old store. I put up a stripper pole and perform 24/7 nude. (ok, made that part up but it may work come to think of it). Sassy came by and made some great suggestions on layouts and color which I did (great help Sassy, Thanks!) and for the results? YES IT WORKED! My sales dropped a little (but went up in MP however, I don't know if the two are related) and overall, my sales are up. Traffic and sales to my new location are off to a good start.
  12. I too have had this problem but don't know the answer so I am hoping someone can respond to this as well. I use 3DS and have been able to reduce some of it by smoothing those poly's along that edge but it only helps and does not eliminate.
  13. It does NOT support finger movement outside of the default hand positions such as Closed Fist, Pointed Finger, Open Hand, Peace Sign, etc.
  14. I'm no lawyer, but I understand that there is a principle called the "deminimus" principle, in which failure to take any effort whatsoever to protect intellectual property prior to use by others tends to amount to abandonment or vacation of the right to exercise copyright after the fact. That is; the "owner" at least needs to do SOMETHING (basically, anything) to discourage others from using the data, or they're tacitly soliciting further use by putting it in a place where anyone can grab a copy for free. Or maybe I'm wrong? Any right that cannot be exercised would seem to be no right at all. LOL, as you know Josh, I am therefore, let me jump in with regard to US Law. Where this was once the truth, it is not as of the DMCA act in 1994. Any digitally created works are inherently copyrighted from the day they created. You may submit them to the Library of Congress for Copyright and in doing so, you are eligible for treble damages (up to 3 times the damages). However, as I see these threads often, one point to make clear is that in damages. You can only litigate for damages and nothing more therefore, you must prove the financial impact that the violation of said copy right caused. As in many cases, the violation of the copyright is below the cost of litigation, the action becomes "deminimus". Or not of any value by comparison.
  15. Anything you buy on the same sim and place as the same owner (you or your group) it will count toward your prim count.
  16. I'm gonna do better, I'm thinking of giving away my freebies...you read right, FREE! LOL made me laugh to but I've not reponded yet. Thanks everyone for the advice. Some new things and many already in practice for many years but always great input. Thanks!
  17. I just opened my new store on it's own sim and I believe I laid it out pretty good. This post has two parts. 1. If anyone is up to it, I would love for some to run by and let me know if they think the layout is easy to navigate. http://slurl.com/secondlife/MG%20Lounge/147/140/23 2. I have set up a "Visit My New Main Store" at the entrance of my old store and no one is using it. My old store still gets great traffic and sales where my new store, that has been up for almost a week, has not seen any sales and only a couple of visits. Both of my stores show well in search, my old store still benefits from being #1 in search under my keywords and the new store now ranks #2. (Home Lighting). Any thoughts on this or suggestions on how I can motivate my customers to go to my main store? I really don't want to pay for two stores but I see no other options until the traffic builds in my new one. Has anyone else experienced this with a move? When I moved last time, I made the mistake of closing down my old store at the same time which tanked my sales for almost two months.
  18. Catwise Yoshikawa wrote: Sorry to say it, but people won't bother to go to Store Profile for a Slurl, a link to the profile is not in each item either ;-) If you don't add it to your item, people won't waste time searching. Ditto Catwise. They barely read the information on the product page, much less go to my information page.
  19. Last I heard, PayPal did not work for EU Residents. You may want to use your credit card direct. Even in the US I have issues with SL and PayPal so I use my CC instead there and no problems. You may also want to check with your Credit Card Bank to see if any transactions where denied. Often, as is the case with Wells Fargo and several other US banks, they tend to block transactions fro Second Life as their merchant record is not very good. If they used CCBill, most of this would work but I am sure they cannot afford CCBill.
  20. Sounds like the item needs to be blacklisted. Hopefully he contacted support and thanks for the heads up!
  21. Textures where not loading on your objects or the website? I too have noticed extremely slow texture load times in world but I'm trying to blame my ISP since...well I just love to blame them. lol
  22. Welcome to Second Life Patrick! :matte-motes-sunglasses-2:
  23. Funny as I was just thinking about this yesterday when I saw the post on the girl getting reported for having a child height avi, or when I see someone ranting over copyrights that they do not own nor have any reason to be concerned about. It's almost as if the current world social climate dictates that you need to rat out your neighbor for anything you can find. In my opinion, the quality of individual has diminished a great deal over the past few years and most of us who came in when second life was a paid game, are gone. Today this world is filled with either bored (and boring) individuals who have little more to do than sit at home in their bathrobes, popping Prozak looking to find people they can "narc" on or compulsive masturbaters. Throw in we creative types and you pretty much have the current population of SL. These days I just avoid most of it and do not log in nearly as much as I used to. It's about creating, running my stores and chatting with old friends. Anything just to avoid the drama.
  24. As I understand it some of their servers are in SF or San Jose's L(3) PoP while their asset system is in Dallas. I work with L(3) very closely and do not see where the worlds largest network would be affected by the Burning Man.
  25. You may also want to make sure the box is checked that say "Active". I had a few changed to inactive on the transition which when I changed, listed.
