I'm 5' 1" in real and have always like being petite :smileytongue: My avatar is short also to what I think looks to be about my RL height, but I think it comes in around 5'6" or something like that in SL. I buy a lot of my houses from Modest House...not sure if it's intentional or not, but the houses seem to suit my avi's height better....doorknobs are not up to my chest, etc....:smileysurprised:
  2. Qwalyphi Korpov wrote: Everyday now there is SPAM. Following the SPAM there are threads started about the SPAM. I have done that myself. Upon reflection perhaps that isn't a good thing. There seems to be a pattern. The threads about the SPAM get closed after the most recent SPAM is cleared. This obviously takes time by the moderator which could be put to better use shutting down the SPAM. Wouldn't it be better to have a permanently open thread re:SPAM that we could all post to if we had something new to say? The threads re:SPAM are very repetitive. Same suggestions. Same complaints. Lets face it - they're very SPAMMY.No one like to hear daily that they have failed again. Chanting 'loser loser loser' at the Lindens contributes to their general malaise. I'm sure they're all doing the best they can. If you post about the SPAM then the spammers win. IDK why - I heard that somewhere. Ok, now back to reading about the SPAM. I agree...just gives us more to wade through until the mods take care of things :smileysurprised:
  3. IDK, Lasher....I come on about 6am my local in the US, by the time the mods get on in CA, I deal with the spam for about 4-5 hours :smileysurprised: It's bad for everyone :smileysad:
  4. I wonder what it's going to be like for the weekend...:smileysurprised:
  5. Reading is fundamental????? Not sure...:smileywink:
  6. LOL...got it. And I agree, the sorting by kudos should be turned off, just one more thing interfering with the flow of things, IMO. Thanks for the info and help.
  7. Suella Ember wrote: Just to confirm how It appears to now be working for me: It automatically sorts by oldest first (this is good a it allows the natural flow - in other words its sorted just as the forums are - question, then person A's answer who answered first, then person B's answer who answered second, then person C's answer who answered third etc) However if, say, person B had the most kudos they would get bumped to the top. So it would be Question, person B's answer (who answered second but has more kudos), then person A's answer (who answered first), then person C's answer (who answered third). I'm all for the oldest first to get the natural flow, but I think it also automatically sorting my most kudos as a sub-sorting of that breaks up that natural flow again. By all means have kudos as a sorting order for people to choose from if they want, but don't have it sorting by kudos automatically. To me the default should be oldest to newest and nothing else, but give people the choice of other sorting options. (Although if we are having other options I'd argue that perhaps most correct 'solutions' might make more sense that 'most kudos' as a sort order?) Also, I do thing that once a question has been marked as answered by the OP, that 'correct' answer should then be bumped to the top to make it easier for subsequent viewers to quickly see the 'correct' answer. Hope that makes sense I'm sorry, but what an a**backwards way to follow a conversation...come on, admit it :smileysurprised: :smileytongue:
  8. Geez...what a goofy-a** way of doing things Thanks for figuring it out.

Lexie Linden wrote: Kylie Jaxxon wrote: Lexie, although it allows those options in the topics, it doesn't show that option in "Answers"...at least, not to me, unless I'm missing it :smileysurprised: I think you are right! Let me dig into this more. Update: Cerise explains it here! Thanks :smileyhappy:

  11. CrystalShard Foo wrote: Team Fortress 2. Basically, what used to be an amusing, cartoonish shooter game turned into something completely different when the company started letting people purchase, find, and trade hats in-game. The result: Hat collecting and trading became such an obsession that Team Fortress 2 has lost it's "shooter game" title and is now mostly refered to as a "America's #1 war-themed hat simulator". So yes. I can see Second Life becoming a contendor for the Hat Simulator title. Hmmm....interesting :smileytongue:
  12. lol, true...maybe things are slowing down here. I have a feeling a lot of people are getting disgruntled for different reasons...I'm one of them :smileysad:

Are people hiding somewhere that I don't know about or what? hmmm...You are filtering through the pages, right? When someone posts, it doesn't automatically go to the top of the heap of the first page :smileysad:
  14. Dreary day too, here in the midwest :smileysad: Welcome to ya...:smileyhappy:
  15. Cato Badger wrote: If I were in charge I would allow new forum registrations only to post questions in Answers (with a character limit to make them think carefully about what they really wanted to know) for a month which might not only restrict spamming but would also help improve the quality of the Forums by forcing those who might be interetsed in lurking for long enough to get a feel for the culture. Ahhh...this is an excellent idea.

We get just the right mixture of drouts and and heat waves during the summer, and the wheather man is always wrong during the winter. 17. Ishtara wrote: As I understood it, the L$ spam'n'scam was one of the reasons for the platform change from Jive to Lithium. Now it's time for Lithium to work its magic. LL can't possibly expect us to AR 24 threads each day. Besides, the moderators only seem to be around during LL's work hours. I'm really curious to see if Lithium came with a magic bullet for cases like this. Ummmm, yeah...what happened to the 24/7 moderation we were told would happen? :smileysurprised:
  18. Suella Ember wrote: To be fair, we are kinda using the 'badges' for a purposes that they were not exactly intended! They system is designed that our avatar pics should be the small pic top left (set from My Settings > Avatars) but because we are creative sorts we've adopted 'badges' as larger avatars (set from My Settings > Social Connect). I think the ability to add a custom background to the badge is not really intended to be larger avatar pictures, we've just cleverly used it that way. The assumption of this software is that if you don't want all the additional writing you have to turn off the badge, but then you just have the small avatar pic (and still get writing in the white space above and below that). It would definitely be nice to have a bit more control over the badges though and it was mentioned at yesterday's Community Tools User Group meeting, so they may look into it I agree with you Suella, but on the other hand, this is SL...the avatar is the main purpose as to why we are all here. Yes, on other forums, the regular pic size suffices, but not in SL.
  19. YAY!!! Good to see so many checking in...Hopefully over the weekend, we will see lots more :smileyhappy: Welcome back everyone...:smileytongue:

  22. Busty Blackadder wrote: How come mine is small and most other people's is large??? I feel puny :smileysad: BB x Hi Busty...although I haven't attempted to do mine yet, so my info is limited...right now you are using an avatar pic generated from your profile. For the larger ones that you've been seeing, you have to make a 'badge.' Go see my settings, social connect. I know some have given points and tips for this, you can search for making a badge. Hope this helps. :smileyhappy:
  23. Sylvia Tamalyn wrote: I didn't post much at the old place, but feel kinda obligated to give it more of a try here, since I spent ages working on this badge (and it still looks weird). So...hi! Hehe, Sylvia...glad you're here. I haven't even attempted to try mine yet :smileytongue: :smileysurprised:
  24. Derek Torvalar wrote: Lexie says there is a 100 picture limit. " Hi Yes, there is a 100 picture limit. If you delete the picture it is also removed from the post. I just tested it. ~ Lexie" Thanks Derek, for following through on this...much appreciated :smileyhappy:
  25. Good morning Lindens...is it possible to have another set of icons uploaded? Something that has more choices, more colors? I'm considering uploading a ton to my profile so that I may use something different than the God-awful ones here, but I'm concerned about taking up my photo space in the profile :smileysurprised: :smileysad:
