  1. So sorry to hear this. I didn't know her well but I met her at the fireworks a few times. The weekly summner fireworks at Robin's, can't remember their official name.
  2. I just don't know which I hate more, beggars or people complaining about beggars. SL makes it very easy to avoid behavior you don't like. If you don't like something, just mute and move on.
  3. I knew of a place that rented out fully furnished homes. They were really quite beautiful and the furniture animations worked for anyone who happened to sit.... or rather I should say that my first av did. She and her partner loved to go on adventures and find out of the way spots with animations. It was fun. Maybe it was wrong of us, but we didn't really hurt anything.
  4. I don't think that being peeved is a crime. Death threats on the other hand, can be prosecuted
  5. Pet peeve, Just once I'd like my pricing math to come up with the same number as the original processor's and/or the provider's appeal.
  6. Now that we have BOM, you can always make a system under-shirt for your self with a modest neck line to wear under things that would be nice if they weren't so skimpy.
  7. All my Linden properties are called Sweet Haven, a name I stole from the Popeye movie with Robin Williams. It just seemed like the perfect name for a home to me.
  8. Pollyanna still has some nice spots open, but I can't seem to hit on it
  9. DJ's do need some skills, like music knowledge and a good selection of songs to play. A DJ is an entertainer, you need to put some thought into your set, choosing songs that create a mood, have some patter between songs to lead from one song to the next. Most places will have both a host and a DJ so that you can focus on the music, respond to requests and such. The host generally will send the notices for you and greet people( you should both greet people, don't use an auto greeter, make it personal) and handle club rules and questions. Good DJs and hosts, work together to set the mood and give the people a good time. The host will remind folks to tip you and the venue, you should remind them to tip the host and the venue but don't over do it. The more you say things like that, the more likely people will just ignore it as club noise. Less is more. Don't DJ if you don't love the music you are playing and want to share it.
  10. Before you posted this I hadn't even noticed you. I imagine you are not having a very good day and I'm sorry that you are feeling persecuted. But, I'd like to suggest to you that it's not all about you.
  11. I know how you feel, I'm feeling that way too. Kinda blah..... On the upside I just love that little mouse that signs your name.
  12. yeah, I have to admit, touching people has it's good points. But not a handshake upon first meeting. Later, much later, after we've verified the health of the individuals to be touched and confirmed that they have neither cooties nor pickle juice nor an ulterior desire to crush us to prove their manliness.
  13. Given all that can go wrong with a hand shake, why on Earth would we want to go back to that? I'm all for the subtle bow of the head while my hands are lightly pressed to each other, no excess pressure or moisture or pickle juice involved.
  14. Sometimes I feel that's true. But, we will eventually acclimate to a new normal. It won't ever be the way it was before. Just like the whole Free Sex Movement (phenomena for dates between the 50s when birth control pills were suddenly available and the 80s when Aids arrived) was never the same after Aids, the COVID19 plague will change the way world is. But people will get used to it. I don't think people shaking hands is going to come back into style.
  15. I knew this guy once who pretended to be normal. He gamed me and a bunch of others for over a couple of years, then came out and admitted he was the alt of a pretty terrible person and that it had been all an experiment to see how much he could control the actions of innocent folk who took him at face value. As it turned out, he was not able to control us nearly as much as he'd hoped. Live and learn.
  16. /me meanders into the thread to see what more could possibly be said about last names.... I made lots of alts with the last name of resident and never had any problem coming up with names that had not been chosen before. I never had to resort to numbers either. I would just choose a first and last name and run them together, then put the space in via the change display name option
  17. I have a couple of nice log homes that I will give up at the end of the month. I am still trying to decide between a really nice trad that I have and a really nice Vic that I have, i will be giving one of them up at the end of the month as well. GoH has been a lot of fun but I'm not going to keep all these alts on premium forever. I expect to end with one Lindenhome, either the trad or the vic, or maybe if I get a really nice houseboat.
  18. no. I'm not. I had it better before. I was already a telecommuter and so no vacation for me. I still have to work and everything else is harder.
