  1. This my trad in Sweetmarsh that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Very private, with a river on 2 sides and a sweet little park in the front yard. I can't believe someone abandoned this.
  2. iIthink it's an entire station. I used to watch Futurama on it and I think they mostly showed cartoons
  3. But aren't all snowflakes special? I thought the term originated from the fact that snowflakes are unique never exactly the same as any other snowflake. Then I guess the right decided that the left were too attached to the idea that each individual is unique and that generalizing the right way was better. But that's my own very reductionist generalization and so of course it's prolly wrong.
  4. me too! I feel very protective of our little safe space here.... I want to keep it safe here. so anyway, I'm gonna try to do my part by trying to stay on topic, how you feel, how i feel and how we care about people Sleep is so important. I tend to overindulge in wakefulness on weekends, last night the sun was coming up before I went to bed, then I find myself waking up about 4-5 hours later, not rested, but can't fall back to sleep either. Some of it's plague related, some of it's depression related and some of it I haven't a clue why. I'm with you on the Eff scolding Beth. We really don't need any of that. I'm reminded once again that you are not responsible for your feelings, it's your actions you are responsible for. You done good Saraya! Pat yourself on the back. damn damn damn! I hate cancer. gentle hugs to you Charlotte. In fact gentle hugs to everyone reading here.
  5. Women have been taught not to do it. It's been hammered home to them that bad things will happen to them if anyone sees their "lady bits" I find manspreading threatening and I resent feeling scared. It's a hell of a lot more comfortable to spread. I just do in in the safety of my own home and never when anyone else can see me.
  6. yeah, but it all seemed so profound to me at the moment, but that might have been the vape talking
  7. The older generation has always been portrayed as complaining about the younger generation, but as usual, generally speaking, when ever you generalize, you wind up being wrong.
  8. Well that makes sense. 'Splaining is very condescending unless it's in response to a request for information and even then it's kind of tricky. I guess the thing that surprised me was that Boomer was being used as an insult, where I've always been kinda happy to be a boomer. I admit that our moment in the sun got quite clouded over in the 80s when we went all yuppie and took way more than our share of everything on the planet, at a time when the planet was running out of all the good stuff and and couldn't keep up with the cleaning required for the bad stuff we made. Yeah, sure, some of us started talking about ecology, all the while gassing up the SUVs, but our good intentions were far outweighed by our greed.
  9. I've been entertaining myself googling OK boomer and I am more confused that I was before I started. I think the OK boomer slur is kind of misguided. There are all kinds of Boomers out there. There are Republican, Democrat, and Independent boomers. There were jocks and geeks and hippies and greasers and beatniks and and intellectuals and paparazzi and soldiers and draft dodgers, members of the NRA and the SDS; Christians, Pagans and Atheists; gays and straights and stoners and lots of rebels. Many of them fit into more than one category. How can you generalize a generation? Any generation? quietly steps off soap box....
  10. << I've never actually seen the OK Boomer memes. I only know they exist because people say it all the time.... (hangs head in shame)
  11. too stoned to type think coherently.... talk amongst yourselves, I am woefully ignorant about current popular culture.... come to think of it, I wasn't ever any good about any of popular culture references since the early 60s. But I do know some obscure details about some odd things.
  12. oh I'm all jelly! I lay down in one of those at a chiropractors office once and nearly came in public.
  13. @LittleMe Jewell I just love that pic, it cracks me up! and @Seicher Rae I only have the the homemade cut up tshirt kind of masks and they fog up something fierce.
  14. yeah, the veers were epic, weren't they? TGIF and only have to work another ten minutes!
  15. Bummer Lil, this reminds me why I don't go to the store anymore. I like having the shopping delivered, even if it does cost a little more. Time for cocktails!
  16. As for the drama threads and our adventures veering off topic, I chalk it up to the regular Friday cocktail with a covid twist of Lime, or maybe lemon, yeah lemon is more sour. I can't say I'm ashamed of our hi jinx, although perhaps I should be, because I really don't approve of yukking it up at anyone's expense, no matter how well deserved. I'm just glad I managed to get my production done at work and still had a little fun. But, yeah, there's gotta be a better way.... I don't like the way I feel now.
  17. not me, I've had so much virtual popcorn today, I think I'm going to barf.
  18. nah, we just need to relax a bit and look at the stars or something
  19. oh, so you're not 89 then. I get so confused about the millennials. Were they born in the 90s or not until 2000. and GenX, are they the 80's kids? and Was there a Gen Y? The boomers span 3 decades I believe, from the post WW2 40's to the early 60's, right? and where does Star Trek the next Generation fit in?
  20. offers hopefully appropriate TS hugs as you depart, come back when you feel better my friend....
