  1. I have that outfit as well. Mine's black with white flowers and I agree. It's a lovely outfit still. This one and some body suits from KC are ones I hope to wear once again with BoM.
  2. I think the problem is, you want someone to make items on the cheap for your specific needs as a landlord that rents skyboxes. After you buy your one item from the creator, how appealing would that build have for the general population? As a counter-idea, why not hire a builder to build you say 5 or 6 boxes to your specifications. You'd have exactly what you want, be able to offer unique home shells that can only be used on your properties that -only- your properties can provide.
  3. 1. If you were truly a gamer, you'd have a decent rig. 2. I've been on SL since 2009 and I'm still having fun. Perhaps it's -you- that's lacking, not SL. 3. It has been. Lots of new features implemented in the last 9 years. 4. Ah, here's the whole basis. That -hilarious- pudgy can't-get-a-girlfriend-but-it's-all-their-fault-not-my-douchey-personality neckbearded edgelord canard. 5. Again, gamers have gaming rigs. Sorry your Walmart open box special isn't up to snuff. 6. Then get good. 7. See all the above. 8. It is good. Everything about SL is the trappings. Whatever you choose the do, the fun is in the people you play with. Again, perhaps it's you that's lacking. LL can't fix you, I suggest upping your social game.
  4. I go to a privately owned sandbox on Zindra when I need one. One where the owner doesn't put up with annoying prats. I don't AR, I IM and a few hours at most later, the griffer is no longer a problem at that sandbox. Because it's on adult land, there have been just a handful of times that griefers have shown up over the course of the last 8 years or so.
  5. Well I can't search it at the moment, as Cris hasn't finished the archive, but some are plane enthusiasts who AR instaant TP orbs. So, Instant TP on a security orb can garner an AR. Believe me or don't. I don't use one so I'll never know 'for sure', but the rule is that it has to give warning. An AR linking the rule Theresa posted would likely be successful.
  6. As I recall from threads at the -other- forum, a no-warning tp home is AR-able. It's been done.
  7. Steampunk I'd say Caledon (though rentals may be sparse); For post apocalypse, I'd say The Wastelands. Both have active communities and events.
  8. Clamps, clothespins, chopstick clamps.. Whatever you got..
  9. Might I recommend Littlefish nipple add-on? (In the spirit of #FreeTheNipple, of course.)
  10. I thought we already fought the law and the law won..
  11. I think you captured here that simple 'real life' shot you were trying for earlier in the thread. Expression, lighting, eye focus all say 'candid shot' imo. Lovely pic.
  12. Wow! Simply gorgeous! ... (I'll be in my bunk..)
  13. Just as an addition to this advice, many clothing (and other rigged mesh item makers) are lazy. EVERYTHING seems to be imported to attach to the right hand. Before you put it on, right click and choose 'attach to' to attach it somewhere else. For instance, Tops and dresses, I attach to the left pec. Jackets, to the right pec. Pants and panties to the left hip. Then i can just double click the item in my inventory to wear it without detaching something else. There is a limit to how many items will attach to one spot, so mixing it up like I suggest will help prevent future wardrobe malfunctions.
  14. An add-on to my last post, some skin makers will make a specific HUD for specific bodies. i.e. in the box you may get a Bellaza HUD, a SLink HUD and/or a Maitreya HUD as well as an Omega HUD. If you have a HUD in the box for your specific body, use it.** It's optimized for that body. The same goes for heads. Demo demo demo any skin Omega tries to be as close as possible but unless it's been textured for a specific head it's always possible for it to not be entirely perfect. **ETA: If they have a specific body HUD, you may not need the Omega hud to apply the skin. The body applier scripts should be in there for that body.
  15. It's a 2 part process. You wear the (SLink) omega HUD along with the skin HUD for your SLink body that applies skins (the body applier HUD) Then you add the (body) skin applier you get from the skin maker. Apply the body skin. Remove those HUDS. Then add the Catwa Omega HUD and the Catwa skin HUD then add the skin makers omega head HUD. Apply the skin and then they should match. Remove the huds.
  16. There are little things, like the triangles by the nose Marianne mentioned. Other less obvious, but noticeable things are having realistic ears. Depending on windlight, the neck seam between mesh body and system head can also be noticeable. It's less so when both are mesh. On one of my alts, I looked for a face that I found appealing and bought the (mod) shape for that face and plugged in my old shapes body numbers. Then a little tweaking to make it more personalized. I don't think she turned out too badly.
  17. I think it depends on the skin maker, but I believe they can have a higher resolution as a mesh body is an object to be textured. System skins are capped? at 512 x 512. I might be wrong though.
  18. I'd say go with whatever height is comfortable for you. That being said, one thing (for anyone) to consider is that the larger the Avatar, the greater the pixilation of your skin. It's something I noticed a long time ago with system skins and why I personally tend towards more (SL) petite sizes.
  19. So have I. Well, inventory problems in general. I installed the latest version and it fixed the problem. There's a reason they stop old versions from being able to even connect. The older versions stop working correctly. And as an aside, as far as 'tech troubleshooting' goes, their first step is going to be updating to a current version, not power cycling the modem. 🙄
  20. Or I could let them argue for me. From FS D/L page: "If you experience any problems with your viewer after performing a basic install, our first recommendation is to reinstall with a clean install. A clean install is also the best way to avoid many potential issues the first time." Of course, YMMV... Personally I'd do the clean install with the most current version. FS is a 3rd party viewer and sometimes older versions don't play well with LL updates. I'd rather go with the easy way instead of power cycling my modem and moving files from one program to another. Of course some folk enjoy doing 21 steps rather than one. Except for FS settings having to be redone, what's the downside of a clean install vs. moving folders and power cycling your modem? I mean you're doing a bunch of steps to avoid.. doing a bunch of steps..
  21. Normally, I'd agree, but she already tested LL viewer and had her inventory there and also had cleared cache. In her post she also hinted that she didn't have the most current FS version. Clean install might be a last resort, but it's one that should fix the problem. And it's a fairly easy thing to do.
