  1. First of all I would say you have most of what you need, namely passion, but I understand things can be frustrating when you have no cash at all. An annual subscription is only $86, perhaps you could ask for this as a gift for birthday or christmas, this gets you a house in the burbs and L$300 a week pocket money. Hint: Parents like subscriptions, it means they don't have to spend all the money in one go. Building really isn't hard, it just tries really hard to look hard, there are lots of free building classes inworld. start on the easy ones, and you will be making your own everything in no time. I can't script but you can do a lot just by altering parameters of existing scripts, which often are cheap or free. Practice a lot and you will soon have it mastered. SL does look a bit dead but theres always 1000s of people here, its like any environment really, stick at it for a bit and you will soon start to make friends, I hardly get a minutes peace these days.
  2. Melita Magic wrote: /me pencils on back of hand, "no breedable rodents - yet..." Well they'd be leaving Second Life about now anyway, wouldn't they? But I kid. Hehe just in case anyone is interested, there are breedable rats and breedable hamsters and I think that although Meeroos are so far unclassified they are probably a rodent : )
  3. Min Barzane wrote: why the heck woud you want to create one more RP system, there are 3 (or more) systems like that in SL already! Azora,Spellfire 2 and 3 You can look for them in Stone Keep sim. Why the heck would the fact that 3 systems exist already prevent anyone from making another? what a very odd idea to present in a free market economy.

  5. Freya Mokusei wrote: The OP didn't mention a where, or why. (Didn't even post a question, just a statement.) He didn't ask for SL users that speak Korean to help, and he posted into General Discussion. If he was truely after anything constructive, would've posted into Wanted. What alternative possible conclusion could you draw from the OP, other than the poster wants information on learning a language, if you are serioulsy suggesting that he just popped in here to let us all know his wish, just in case we were interested, then I think you also need some help with languages.
  6. I think since this is a Second Life forum its reasonable to assume that the OP was looking to see if this he could learn Korean here in SL rather than using Rossetta Stone or similar. At the very least he is looking for a personal reccomendation from someone, you know, where someone tells you of their experience with something independently and seperately from the people who are trying to sell it to you. This also provides the opportunity for the OP to ask further questions and for any respondants to come back to him, this is commonly known as a conversation, The most efficient way to get this online is by posting in a forum and not by searching Google, this also has the added advantage that other users browsing the forums, such as myself, who might also be interested in learning another language can share in the conversation. Since the answer to every question ever posted in any forum anywhere ultimately can be found by searching Google, its safe to assume that forum users posing questions have either exhausted the Google option or have opted to use a different approach. The only person to mention Google and get all hung up on doing research is YOU. If answering a question in a forum makes you so annoyed and is such a disturbance to your busy day, might I reccomend that you do us all a favour and just don't answer questions. On this particular occassion your posts in this thread are are nothing more than a rather pathetic brand of pointless bullying.
  7. 'Breedable Pets' is a category that was added very recently (last 3 months or so), so consequently there are likely to be many listings still using the old categories they had to be assigned to when no alternative existed. You could, if you wanted to, flag all these listings for being in the wrong category, or why not flag 1 or 2 from the each merchant so they get the message. Schdeuph Rosca wrote: (btw that's the reason why this breedable concept will hardly have a future, but anyways...) LOL ! didn't someone say something like that about Rock 'n' Roll?. The concept with hardly a future has been going strong for 3 years, involves well over 100 creators supporting (or not) about 120 breedable systems, has around 15000 very active users, including many who own markets, stores, auction houses, magazines, web sites, and third party creations and tools, represents a significant portion of the SL economy, having brought tens of millions of RL dollars into the system and is probably the only retail sector in SL that has grown year on year since 2009. Most importantly breedables allow people with no traditional digital creation skills to take part in SL commerce.

  9. I have lots of nice cakes : ) Ziggys Cakes Check my related items too Can't honestly call them low prim though

  11. Tropical Bearsfoot wrote: So why does it say "Disabling and Re-listing Items. This is considered misrepresentation. You have the ability to remove discussion posts for your items that are over 30 days old if you wish" right in the Guidelines? https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines#re-listing-items Where is this ability? I think this is a remnant from Xstreet, when you could review an item or start a discussion on it.
  12. Thank you for reporting that the situation which has existed for the last 9 months continues to exist, I don't know where the community would be without you clever hacks getting the inside track on everything for us. In my experience the people who have complained loudest about there being no report are the ones who always claimed it was all fiction anyway. Which would suggest it's more about having something to complain about than it is about needing the economic statistics for planning purposes etc.
  13. Perrie Juran wrote: Well of course they have to make decisions. They do not have unlimited space. The space (SIMs) are all donated by users, not Linden Lab. I understand the space is limited, my point is that another resident gets to decide that I can't promote my business and that my competitors can, I am happy for LL to make such decisions but I am not happy for other residents to make them, its very open to abuse as they are bound to have friends that they want to look after along with their own likes and dislikes. If the decision making process followed any logic and was transparent I would feel differently, but it doesn't and it isn't, somone has plucked a figure of 10 out of the air and decided thats how many of one particular type of business can be represented, has this been applied to any other business sector? no it hasnt, is this figure representative of the number of this type of business that exists in SL, no it isn't, is it representative of the number of residents buying from these businesses or the proportion of the economy that their purchases represent?, NO it most certainly is not. Perrie Juran wrote: We got notification. Very shortly after they said they'd be sending out notices. Maybe there were some break downs in communication. But that was not our experience. LOL, you got notification because you got in, I havent had any response whatsoever to my application and neither have two of my friends, its not a breakdown in communication at all, it simply hasnt happened. Being a volunteer is a not an excuse for being discourteous. Perrie Juran wrote: Really now? While this is a particularly large undertaking, any Resident can submit to have an event, etc. to be listed for SL9B. Thee is nothing stopping your friend from hosting something on their own property. This really is silly and you know it, of course there are fringe events as part of the birthday, but if you ask any resident - What is SLXB they will speak of the 40 sims full of stuff, every poster in this thread refers to that, and that is what you are referring to as well and what you have taken pictures of. It cannot have been put together without some help from LL at least in terms of networking to bring all the participants together not to mention the MOTD advertsing campaign that ran for a couple of weeks, thats probably worth about $20K USD. So any Resident cannot just create an equivalent event. Perrie Juran wrote: And quite frankly, the support we have gotten from all the staff at SL9B has been above and beyond. Maybe there are some who are getting their egos stroked by doing this but we sure have not encountered it. I am encountering it in this very thread!. You are stroking like crazy!. My initial response was to a comment of exactly that nature. Perrie Juran wrote: I am sorry your friend was not included but your post sounds more like a case of butt hurt than a legitimate complaint. I am glad you are finally starting to see my point of view, now you just need to explain ... 1. Who hurt my butt? 2. Why did they hurt my butt? 3. How come they are in a position to hurt the butts of other residents?
  14. Klackie Alsop wrote: It's a great thing they're all doing, and greatly appreciated! Not by me! The approach of the organisers at best can be desribed as hopelessly amateur, and they are in a position to decide who can and who can't be there. My friend was told they had a place, then they were told they couldn't have a place, apparently someone decided there were too many applications from a certain business sector so only 10 businesses from that sector could be represented. No one who applied has had any communication whatsoever from the organisers, apparently you just have to hunt them down to find out if you are in. LL has basically permitted a few chosen residents to go on a big fat ego trip, although it has to be said it's pretty much like that when LL run it too.
  15. Shameless plug alert Cats are old, what you need is a Gempanda... Gempandas The Magical New Breedable Pet releasing later this year
  16. Drake1 Nightfire wrote: How much would the rent be? For how many prims? Please don't answer with "That would depend on the number of merchants interested." All that says is one shop could end up footing the bill for the sim. The answers to those questions would obviously depend on who was interested and what their needs are, its very clear from the OP that this is a provisional enquiry and there is nothing wrong with that at all. She could say everyone gets a 32 x 32 parcel with a 1000 prims for a set rent and then get 20 responses from people who only want 50 prims. If one shop is going to end up footing the bill, that will be the one owned by whoever has rented the sim and who's name is on the rental box, (most likely the op) the entire rent for a sim is not generally charged to the first renter the sim owner comes across, as you know very well. As an existing merchant you should be encouraging new enterprises, not dreaming up stupid, irrelevant, nonsensical reasons to discourage them.
  17. Aircraft are one of the few items in Secondlife I actually buy, For me it's really about the fantasy of owning such an aircraft and the 'reality?' of owning a really nicely made item in SL, I spend far more time looking at them and admiring them than I do flying them. Flight does require quite a bit of space I am lucky that I have reasonable sized region to play around in, but I still hit the edges sometimes and crossing sim borders is a bit of a gamble, I was once thrown to the edge of the sim where i was able to watch my Spitfire with another me in it plunge into the drink, that was pretty disturbing I can tell you. I think aircraft flight of course has recreational value, but I wouldnt say its the best way to go sightseeing. There are air combat sims, theres even an aircraft carrier you can land on somewhere (or used to be). I have a... Sopwith Camel Fokker Triplane Super Marine Spitfire B17 Flying Fortress Boeing 747 Most of my aircraft are created by Bancos Milestone
  18. I have a small mainland parcel you can use, it's pig ugly but you can stick yourself in sky, contact me in world : ) (I wont be in till about midday)
  19. The last couple of weeks have been dreadful for me, but it always slows down at this time of year, and the economic conditions in Europe have to be having an effect. I havent noticed any big change in concurrency though.
  20. Great idea! My firends and I LOVE Eurovision and SL is a great place to watch it because there are people from every country here. It's especially good this year because I am distantly related ,via a second marriage, to The Hump. I will bring country flags for all to wave : )
  21. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: Public or not, the policy is clear that you cannot use keywords in this way. This didn't happen coincidently, you purposely did it. You have no defense Thats true. Its shame we see these attempts to wriggle around the rules on technicalities. To the OP - just comply with the rules in deed and in spirit and you wont have items removed, you are obviously talented, there really shouldnt be any need for you to be involved in this sort of noobie nonsense.
  22. bruno Canadeo wrote: I have not used the name "harley davidson" in description, product, title, image, etc! Tags are not public and not descriptive. The brand is "harley davidson". It is not harley. It is not Davidson So are you saying you used the word 'Harley' then, because it's very likely that forms part of the Harley Davidson trademarks as well, just like Cocoa Cola and Coke or Second Life and SL
  23. Since this is an SL forum it seems reasonable to assume the programing you require is LSL scripting here in SL, Freelancer.com isn't going to be much help with that
  24. What qualifies this very modest building (some might say shed) as a business?
  25. Fraps is very commonly used, for recording in SL. I use Adobe Premiere to edit - but theres loads of cheaper programs - Ulead Video Studio is a good cheap user friendly editor
