Searched around a bit and saw that the Account can not be removed Forever, it always stays in Database? Is that true? Do they keep your Personal Info? I need some Answers. Thank you! They're kept in the database not to torment you but because if you've ever created or rezzed content inworld it needs to be identified. When you cancel an account, all you are really doing is stopping your access to the account and removing your profile from search. Anyone who has your calling card, is on your friends list or has an item that you previously owned or built will still be able to see your profile. It sucks but that's the way it is, as in real life you can't erase all traces of your presence. Once it's cancelled and the temptation to log in and be aggravated is removed then you can chalk it up as a life experience and move on. I hope that whatever happens in the future is good for you edited to make it "..It sucks" not "I sucks" although of course you may conjecture all you wish
  2. Thank you to everyone who has offered information. Turns out it's not possible to do what I want to do, so we'll just have to find away to work around the limitation. Thanks again everyone
  3. I haven't seen the script yet only what it does (and doesn't do). As for stepping into the scripters lair, I'm very well aware of how us nobodies get treated in general whenever we step into these arenas and wouldn't have come in here if I wasn't desperate for some kind of indication of if the idea would work or not. I learnt the lesson of keeping away long ago and you're right, I should have remembered it before I posted this. If this were just for one of my releases it could take another decade for all I cared, things get done when they're done but in this case it's not and I'm looking at the days pass and the amount I still have to do. I've used up all my contingency I'd factored in for the scripting and for the last 3 weeks this script has not managed to do what I want, so I'll file it away as a nice idea that's not doable (I have no concerns about his scripting ability, he's been extremely good with what he's done for me so far, just whether or not it is actually possible) and try to come up with something else to replace that bit of it.. hey ho and all that.
  4. I have someone writing a script for me where when an av sits on an object the camera moves to the front to effectively look at the av then the object takes off and the camera should move behind the av and follow it as it's being dragged around the place. The first bit seems to be sort of working - if the camera focus isn't somewhere fixed it works but if it's fixed on something it doesn't (if that makes sense). When the av takes off though it doesn't change. I saw this thread http://community.secondlife.com/t5/LSL-Scripting/Need-help-scripting-the-camera-position-orientation/m-p/794943/highlight/true#M850 and can't work out if what I want can be done or not. As my scripter is one of those who would rather gnaw a limb off than ask for help but my deadline for having the whole build done is immovable (and less than a week away), I'm at a loss to know whether to just abandon this now and go for a redesign or can anyone can give me some clues that I might be able to get him to look at I'd appreciate it.

More than 2000 Linden ... and, to be honest, I do not want to lose them. The seller has not contacted me, nor even for IM and email. I would not want to be one of those ... who ever does not log on sl .. and pockets .... Linden only. you say it was a store, so I assume it was inworld rather than the marketplace but here's my tuppence for both. If it was inworld, you can AR the vendor for non delivery (fraud, I'm not inworld atm so I can't remember the actual term used) and give the details of the transaction and what you've done to try to fix it. LL will very possibly ignore it but you never know, they may action it and get the merchant's attention. You could join one of the groups they're a member of to see when they last logged in. If it's fairly recently then it could just be they're on holiday or only can get in on the weekend or a myriad of other reasons but they will eventually get back to you. If they have been gone for a long time then I'd suggest you kiss your money goodbye and don't buy anything from them again. LL doesn't stop people selling stuff and taking the money but not supporting it, so there is pretty well nothing you can do. The only other thing I can think of is you may have the seller muted (so deliveries and IMs from the seller won't get to you) or they've got you muted which is why they're not getting your IMs/notecards. Sounds unlikely but it isn't - it could have been something as simple as when you were a hapless noob you were gesture spamming and they muted you for some peace (not saying you did - it's just an example of how people end up on mute lists). You could try getting a friend or an alt to drop a notecard over, just to see if that's responded to. If it was the marketplace, check your transaction history to see if it has been cancelled and the money returned or if it says delivered. If it says delivered you do need to lodge a ticket with LL support and LL will redeliver it for you.

It is very easy even for an experience resident to make a total mess when modifying something but it does not matter, there is an original copy of it in the inventory. If the item was no copy and it messed up, who is going to replace it? It is not the merchant's job to do that so you either lose it or buy it again. yep, only the other day I trashed a transfer item I bought and I'm quite adept (despite this little oopsie) at edititng things after almost 5 years inworld, I do what most people do, either fix it or go buy another. Despite knowing that now I'm going to get a rash of people telling me they've trashed their items because I've said this, it's very, very rare I ever get someone come to me because they've trashed it. I probably get one a year out of the thousands of items I sell during that time and considering some of the pics I've received from people who have heavily modified the items, I'm impressed. In the end it doesn't matter though because it can be swapped out pretty easily, they drop the damaged one on me, I have a look at it and either fix it, growl at them because most of it is missing or drop them another. I've also trashed copy items where I hadn't taken a backup first - In those cases I also go buy another copy as it's my fault and I don't see why I should bother the merchant because of my stupidity. Hence my suggestion to add a backup box to the folder. But then Couldbe's primary market is different. I sell mainly to people who have land and have been around for a while but even my newbies seem to be the non hysteric, sensible types so I count myself all kinds of lucky.

Hmm .. seriously? Okay, convince me. Why are NoCopy/Trans items better than Copy/NoTrans items? What are the advantages they offer and how often have you found yourself thankful for those advantages? And I'm not challenging, just not seeing what the benefit could be, so I'm curious why you hold that opinion. when I'm tired of an item I can give it away to someone else who will use it. I run many alts so if i buy something that doesn't suit one I can pass it on to one of the others, rather than it being stuck in an inventory of an account I stop using. This is a biggie when I'm doing shoots for products. I can buy with couldbe or one of my other merchant accounts and then transfer it to the alt, so I don't have to transfer cash and log in the account just because I've seen something I like when I'm out shopping I can give a gift to someone and actually be there when I give it. all up it's more flexible for the way I use sl. I'm surprised you weren't able to analyse this yourself - it's pretty basic stuff if you understand the main ways people use sl.
  8. Darrius Gothly wrote: RE: Delivery of Folders vs. Delivery of Boxed Items I sell my items boxed for many reasons. Yes, I see folks "wearing" boxes all the time .. usually they are less than 3 days old. After they master the method of "Rez and Copy to Inventory", they don't do that anymore. It's just one of the skills a new user has to learn to properly and easily use Second Life. I totally "get it" when they want to reduce the number of complicated skills a new user must master in order to use SL, but I just don't see how unboxing something is that difficult. (Personally, if someone winges about it being an inconvenience, they probably winge about having to use backspace to fix their own typos too.) IMO it is not an "inconvenience" to deliver items in a box. I maintain that opinion for a couple of reasons, but among them are: People often recommend "Organizing your inventory" by putting things into boxes. Items delivered in a box are already "Organized". The Delivery Box serves as the "Master Copy" from which a customer can always go back and get a complete clean fresh set should they totally mess up and wipe out some valuable parts. (However this only works for Copyable items. Those that sell Next User No Copy items don't get this advantage ... yet another reason NOT to sell No Copy items.) From my reading of the FAQ, there is no reason you MUST put your products into "expanded folders". For my part, when I start using DD, I will just put my delivery boxes into the outbound Direct Delivery folder. Besides, they're really gorgeous delivery boxes .. so I'm keeping them. (Took me months to get those plain black boxes just right. LOL) that's your opinion and you're entitled to it but I disagree completely, just because you like a more difficult workflow doesn't mean the rest of us do. I prefer folders for ease of use. 9. Ziggy21 Slade wrote: Is this really an issue?, you can just leave the item boxed if you really want to inconvenience your customers, but if you did want to make it easy for them you could have one main folder with a sub folder for Sculpt maps, another for shadow maps and so on, much easier than them having to open several boxes, and then drag the resulting folders into one folder or have one big box with a huge jumble of items inside. This new system obviously makes things easier especially for products of this nature, well, it will do if it works : ) Where are these 20000 extra items going to come from? this would suggest there are merchants who have products in their magic Boxes which don't exist in their inventory, whilst thats not impossible, I would suggest it's as unusual as it is foolhardy, granted they may have some tidying up to do, but if they have 60,000 items a tidy up was long over due anyway. I'm going to take issue with this. I sell goods that usually contain around 5 -15 separate items and have an inventory size of around 35k. I try to keep the growth rate down but new scripts, notecards, animations, sculpts and textures needed for builds manage to increase it and that's before things like buying stuff so couldbe doesn't always look shabby when she's out and about (ok, that's rare but she does still vanity shop sometimes). Even if I'm harsh with my next inventory clean I don't expect to be able to get rid of more than 5k worth of stuff (draft copies of scripts and builds mainly). Now you could tell me to box stuff up, put it in an alt etc but all that does is slow down an already slow workflow that's primarily due to the technical limitations of the platform and pushes it into the realm of unusable. I met an account once who had only been around a few months yet had something close to 70k worth of items. All she did was hunts and didn't even bother to unpack the stuff. She wondered why she had inventory issues lol. In that case I can see a case for getting snippy but if you look at some of the larger texture or sculpt makers I'd be surprised if they had less than 50k in their inventory, and very few redundant items.
  10. The design itself seems to be surprisingly well thought out (assuming I'm understanding why they've chosen the folder in/folder out route). If the folder can be delivered with sub folders as well it will be a bonus for me but my main concern is the volume. There doesn't seem to have been a lot of thought put into how the design will impact on the unstable nature of inventory loads. I already have folders in my inventory for each of the items I sell and those that have been previously sold but are now retired. Each folder has the individual objects and any boxed items (I have other things that I have to box up to put in the current delivery box to stop people getting confused when they unpack) but excludes the common inserts like LMs and EULAs. At a bare minimum I'd have to add the LM and Notecard to each folder and if sub folders are allowed I'd unpack those as well to include. At a guesstimate that would probably increase my inventory by around 1.5k alone. Since large inventories increase the risk of items going missing I'd have to create a backup elsewhere in the inventory for those times the items go missing from the out folder. That's just increased my inventory size again by around probably 3-5k. My inventory is already bloated because of the catalogue and the thought of having to increase it by that amount is, at first glance, a deal breaker until they fix the inventory load issue. Which is a real shame as the folder delivery idea is perfect for me, it would reduce my workload when I need to change LMs or the EULA or even when I do a single item upgrade. So it looks like I'll have to stay with box deliveries and increase the size of my inventory by the number of folders I need to use. It's still a lot of work because you have to make sure your folder name is an exact match for the current box or it won't link to the listing. For anyone with a sizeable SLM inventory it's a lot of set up work - not as much as for the marketplace last year but still enough. With the past quality of the deliverables, I'll wait into those braver than me have tested it once released and we get an idea of how well it works, if at all.
  11. Hi Torley, It's not a problem, it's just my cynicsim that prompted the post. I suspect one of the commerce team was testing a new forum they've set up and it's either still waiting for release or they decided to delete it. I haven't seen it since but I'll keep an eye out and grab a screenshot if I stumble across it again. Have a great Easter break
  12. has anyone ever counted them? I'd say tens of thousands of each but does anyone have anything close to a ballpark figure for each?
  13. So, I hit the forum and don't log in. I go to the forum tab and it shows an empty forum called the Merchants knowledgebase. I log in and go back an it's not showing. Why do I get the feeling they now expect us to reverse engineer their *ahem* features so we can explain to our fellow captives the intricacies of LL's current methods of toying with us?

What should it say there? content ="PG"? Afaik it should just say PG. if you check profiles that's the way they hide the naughty ones - they put _NOT so I'm assuming it's the same for listings, since that pg one has it. I have a naughty word in one of the vendors that I need to remove, then I'll be able to see if the boost penalty has gone. Although I'm not too optimistic as I have an adult parcel as well that still has -ve boost and it's got nothing apparent for the reason except for its size. Sea did give a tip to get that animation store of mine properly ranked, apparently it was this page rank bug. I'll find out tonight when I finally get inworld. If the tip is right then it will be the first time it's appeared for that search term since last may.. so a big possible yay!
  15. I'm sure that anyone who is aware of what negative boost is will be well aware of that Phil. That's why the thread is primarily about the parcel size handicap that was previously applied.
  16. hmmm interesting. Sea did say anything over 144sqm should show so perhaps they did fix it. I have three parcels I can check but they'll take a couple of days as I'll have to put one back in search first. As an aside, one way you can check to see if you've fallen foul of the maturity ratings filter is to check the page and look for these meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow" meta name="boost" content="-1" / meta name="mat" content="PG_NOT" / If you have then check your objects that show in search as there'll be a naughty word in either the object name or description.
  17. Has this been sorted? I had this problem quite severely (both the marketplace saying it had delivered it but the customer never receiving it and the partial delivery of goods from one prim vendors) on 2-3 April but no complaints since then. For the sin of being on mainland I'm on a RC so it looks like you inherited the issue from Le Tigre. (always le tigre - crappy is a byword for it)
  18. I had this happen to me a few years ago and when I contacted paypal they told me to link the email address to the paypal account and the funds would be credited. I was lucky that I just used the wrong email but it was still one of mine. It took less than 5 minutes from when I linked it to when the funds were credited. If you've used an email address that isn't yours or you can't create, you'll need to ask LL to do a recall but I doubt your chances of them actually doing it for you, so if that is the case then be prepared to wave that money goodbye. If the email address doesn't have a link to paypal then the money will sit in limbo. I can't remember exactly what paypal told me but I think they said that the money will sit there until the sender requests it back or the email is linked and it can be credited. I don't remember them telling me it would be returned to sender otherwise. This was around 3 years ago though so things may have changed
  19. try removing the asterix (*), I seem to remember someone saying that was how they fixed their listing.
  20. when i put expo I meant things like fairs, for example the skin or hair fairs or the (now defunct I think) linden lottery so that's another for your list
  21. there's also the midnight mania type boards cross promotion events/expo demonstrations groups - your own and advertising groups

Toysoldier Thor wrote: WOW on two fronts about those stats..... 1) I thought what I was earning a month was nice for me to buy my toys but if those number are right, you are saying I am in the top 5-6%? Seems almost hard to believe... 2) thinking of you in those real life thigh high boots! yep and it's been consistently around those figures since I started keeping track of them years ago. I can't remember how many of these may be estate owners (using a ballpark of the number of 4+ region estates as a guide) but I think that was around 1000 so it's quite possible that there was around 300 average non land baron people earning more than minimum wage - but the figures are very rubbery as some will be inworld solution providers who prefer to be paid in lindens, those transferring business income to a banker alt, the *ahem* adult entertainment providers etc etc. and these figues are inclusive of sinks but not of LL tier (islands and mainland) and I seem to remember LL bragging once that there were only 25 people earning more than 100k usd. So you do have bragging rights to the claim that you're comfortably in the top 10% of Linden income earners. (because there's an unknown number of people who are paid outside of sl and so aren't counted in this) and even now the boots look fabulous, just don't ask me to use stairs while wearing them
  23. here's some food for thought, although it does come with a warning that the figures may be out of date because LL no longer publish the stats (and haven't since oct 2010), so these figures are approximate based on the last 18 months worth of stats (and heavily rounded so they may be a couple of percentage points out, I can't be bothered doing a proper calculation) So assuming nothing has changed since oct 2010 (har,har)... There's around 70,000 accounts that have a positive monthly cashflow (ie they receive at least 1l during the month) around 83% of these make less than 50usd pm around 89% made 100usd or less per month so, if you make 50+usd pm you are certainly well within the top 20% of income earners in sl if you make more than 100usd you're in the top 10% if you make more than 500usd pm you're in the top 3% around 1.75% of people make more than 1000 usd per month (that's around 1200 people) - that's minimum wage remember and also remember this is before tier etc - so a 4 sim estate owner with rents may make over 1k but after tier etc may be only making a couple of hundred a month. and as an added aside, you've got more chance of joining the mega rich in the us than you do in sl as there's a greater proportion of mega rich there than there is in sl. (relatively speaking of course). and as a completely spurious aside - my first cashout was many years ago but I still remember it as I bought myself a pair of thigh high laceup boots with 5" heels.. I thought it was an apt way to mark the occasion.. lol

The only one that seems to do the auto login these days is the jira.
