Are you getting a Blue screen (Blue screen of death) with this error meassage?

"Comment" .........I had numerous problems (Major crashes and serious hangs requiring a viewer restart) with the last two viewers the latest edition is much better, so far.

If the problem continues ask for a SIM restart from the SIM owner.

You may wish to include a section on the graphics cards settings exclusively.

You may wish to include a comment about the difference between chip set graphics and a graphics card. Also some reference might be made to avoid laptops when using SL.

FireFox. Avoid IE at all costs, it's crapware.

Try a MasterCard gift card. The VISA cards have trouble with SL. An "online" card is best. This is a special classification of cards, all cards are not online cards.

I do not use it, it is too resource intensive for my PC and connection. It is useful for those with disabilities, for some essential.

I'm guess at this one ............ I think you have disabled the plug-in in your firewall settings. Check for it there; if it's being blocked unblock it. The plug-in appears to run the search functions in the viewer.

Abuse report it, there is a feature in abuse report to ID the owner of the object. This will at least notify SL of the problem and they might take care of it for you if you mention it in the report. Some of these can be very difficult to remove.

If you can not see it refetching then click the recent tab next to the inventory tab this may get it moving. It will scroll up through the number till it stops. This is more of a problem with slow ISP connections, like mine. Why it reloads every time you log on is anyones guess. .

Try this, place your cursor over the AV then pres Ctrl+Alt+R all at the same time. Does it do this all the time no matter where you are? Does it happen all the time anywhere. Does it start out OK then get worse after some time online. <<<<<<<<< If this one, has this PC ever been cleaned on the inside of the tower or Laptop?

A best guess is the viewer software is having a problem so delete the current viewer form the programs section (OS ?) then reinstall it. If this fails run a RAM memory test on your PC.

In this order, try: Retype your user name (both of them) and password in the boxes provided on the logon screen. By far the best thing you can do is reduce your graphics settings. Do you have a graphics card on this PC? If not, I would suggest you get one. After doing that it could be any number of things there are many forms of lag. Tell us what your experiencing as specifically as possible.(I'm not here much so maybe someone else can help you.)

This might help. Go to Me > preference > graphics > then reduce the slider for flexi prims. Yep, might be your gCard. Good luck

I did find the bump reports in the advanced section in viewer 2 after several searches. Does clicking on an offenders name in the bumps applet send a report?

Welcome Rod. A common comment for newbie to SL is ............ "SL is not a game". I would suggest you spend as many hours online, inworld as possible to grasp its complexity before making any major moves. There's more to it then might first be apparent, far more. Great work you and the people at EA have done, job well done. I'm sure you'll find SL a much greater challenge. Good luck.

Well you partly had it right with viewer 1 when you allowed users to directly tp to items they wanted then viewer 2 arrived and that method of searching vanished. Still little or "no relevance" for nearly all search results and without it search is virtually worthless. Content relevancy: How well a search accurately matches a searchers question.
