  1. Try increasing your particle count in preferences. Me > preferences > graphics >particles. If this failed reinstall the textures cache.
  2. In viewer 2 most are listed next to items at the top of the screen on left.
  3. Better have your friend do this while your inworld. The groups they are really buggy in this version of the viewer.
  4. What type of purchase was this and from where? If this is a large purchase, maybe for land check your account data on your CC. This is found in the dashboard. Did you use the same card this time as before? Only one creit card (CC) can be used at a time. https://secondlife.com/my
  5. If you made settings/preference changes in the last version they are often reverted to the default when a new version is released (GRRRRR, I wish they would stop that. ) this may slow things down.
  6. Yes, that happens. Are you really new to SL? Anything you'd like to add?
  7. A great card without a very good connection is worthless; It will sit waiting for data. What speed is your ISP connection?
  8. Myself I'd let them, the injured party do it. Human relationships can be complicated and much can be unseen. Your call on this but you did ask..
  9. See if this is up to date .... http://www.java.com/en/ or just install a new copy. It is best to remove it from the programs section of your OS first.
  10. In this order, try: Wait, sometimes the servers have problems, only wait a few hours at most. Retype your user name (both of them) and password in the boxes provided on the logon screen. Check the Second Life grid status for logon problems. http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ Try logging on at http://slurl.com/ On login screen take this path. In top left hand corner of screen, click, me > preferences > in the general tab, click the box next to start location, choose "show start location on login screen" then close the viewer and relog on. Now you have something new on your login screen. Click the down arrow and choose "home", or "last location" or type "Violet" (Any region you can remember will do, if you remember the regions name spelling exactly) in the "type region name" selection. Try all three if you need to. For wired connections for modems only: Disconnect all wires concerning your connection, wait 30 seconds then plug them back in again, including the modem and transformer. Wires should snugly fit into ports. These instructions do not apply to routers. For wireless connections and routers: Reset your system clock. see "help and support" in Windows for directions. Your firewall should be set to "outbound access only" for the Second Life program. Try another viewer http://modularsystems.sl/
  11. The asset serve maybe down, wait.

    skin

Put mouse cursor over AV then push Ctrl+Alt+R all at once. There are loads of bad items out there change to a different skin and see if it works. If it does through away the bad one.
  13. FYI. That site is receiving a red flag from McAfee site adviser. This means that some serious issue has been identify with it by McAfee that they felt was legitimate. http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=bake_fail
  14. Clear your cache. Me > prefernces > setup > cache location > reset button
  15. Groups have problems in the new viewer, many of them actually. These are design problem mostly and in some case bugs in the groups interface. Have you attempted to change roles for people? I'd report this as a JIRA: https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa?
  16. Unfortunately thing happen; this might be an asset server problem. Waiting would be a good idea. In time the problem might be resolved. Have you looked here during the time these issues occurred?: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ You may end up doing this "I really don't want to have to contact the sellers individually". One last point, "you get what you pay for". Freebies do have there problems
  17. Try a public sandbox. 900s not much most Mainland SIMs support 14000 prims.

  19. Just a simple question. :) A path would be good if it's possible.
  20. Remove all HUDs and scripts from your AV and try again. To find out what scripts your running go to land (not objects like side walks and roads) right click the land then in the first tab (bottom left) click scripts then choose the AV tab. This will show you what scripts your running.
  21. Scripts might not be the problem. These factors effect the SIM ..... the number of AVs on the SIM (AVs with more attachments/HUDs count more then those without. AVs with high ARCs can also effect SIM performance.). The number of objects (This is determined by the type of SIM it is: mainland, homestead and in some situation the server running the SIM). And the number of scripts. Lag comes in many forms. What exactly is happening and when? What are the uses of this SIM? (Shopping, combat, club, residential, etc..) Can you post an image of the statistics bar for us? What SIM is this?
  22. Sorry, I can't provide an example while submitting a question. COMMENTS: Uploading as .png file made it worse. Standard upload to SL. (This was a portion of a larger image.) original. jpeg image uploaded to this site directly. Getting closer. This is a snipit from inside SL. The actual image is better then what appears here on the site. The problem was that I assembled the image in Word Pad in Windows and somewhere there was a glitch. (Thank you. :) ) I switched to Paint.net and the image improved but it's still slightly blurry. So I still need those suggestions.
  23. See "help and support" in your OS and reset the system clock.
  24. If the other suggestions fail reset your system clock. See "help and support" for details.
