  2. Primary reason to send them elsewhere for help I don't have a clue. :-)
  3. This is Second Life Answers not Emerald Answers. There are several inworld help groups for assistance with Emerald and there is a forum and support for Emerald here: http://emerald.modularsystems.sl/ Emerald is a separate third party produce that works with SL but is not a part of SL.
  4. Clear the cache. Path is preferences > network > push the clear cache button > apply > OK > restart the viewer > wait awhile it will restart automatically Message was edited by: Faubio.Alter ......... this will get ride of that cloud till it fills up again.

  7. I didn't know either so ......................... power screw driver is optional LOL also see: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=changing+video+card+laptop&aq=f Always see more then one of these videos and remember: http://www.pcworld.com/article/82184/avoid_static_damage_to_your_pc.html Message was edited by: Faubio.Alter .......... first............ piece of cake :-) all laptop may not have upgrades, and the devil is always in the details, check the specification in any upgrade carefully. Make sure the PS can handle the upgrade and check the temperature of the card, in fact you might wish to e-mail the company supplying the new card to be sure.
  8. Yep, Just wondering too about power supply and overheating issues from a higher spec gpu
  9. I bet you missed one LOL Keep looking (Faub winks)
  10. Maybe all but one. Did you check the permissions on the textures too?
  11. Second Life owned sandboxes have loads of grievers, other more private yet public sandboxes are available in search. I think you might find these more to your liking. Sandboxes that allow skyboxes are also less disruptive.

    a land question

Myself I'd go skybox and nix the land option altogether. I've spent more then a few hours on all sorts of sandboxes and know there troubles. Going landside would be trouble for certain. How about creating the landing location landside then TP to the skybox. i know of a sandbox like this and use it but it is a weapons testing sandbox so that might explain it. Hmmm, that reminds me if your a glutton for punishment and want to provide for a real need then there certainly is a shortage of weapons testing sandboxes on SL but they be loads of trouble. LOL I hope you have a few people to help you adm this place if you go through with it, you'll need them. Don't forget to provide an assortment of textures givers and maybe a few newbie tutorials Message was edited by: Faubio.Alter .............. Oh, about the size, as a skybox sandbox as big as possible, as landside sandbox as big as possible.

    a land question

Are there any solutions to absolutely restrict griefers from interfering. Maybe not on such a small parcel of land but you could consider a skybox sandbox at least it would be harder to find.
  14. If your not afraid to go back you might wish to report that to the SIM owner looks like he needs to restart the SIM. Hmmm, you need not go back just look it up in search. Now it's your turn to be the good samaritan. :-)
  15. Like I said Torley comes by on occasion. LOL Thanks Torley. :-) Message was edited by: Faubio.Alter .............. Two off topic subjects, two major concerns on SLA are loss of data from inventories and "ghosting" both seeming internal problems within SL. Any word on what LL is doing about these two problems? I hear Philip has returned, I hope he's aware of these.
  16. Check your caps lock key and number keys on the keyboard. You might try cleaning it too, this might be a stuck key, stuck alt and control keys can do strange things to SL. Those peskie kitties. :-) http://loyalkng.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/funny_cat_pictures_pc_41.jpg
  17. Also Torley Linden stops by SLA from time to time last I saw he was in charge of those choices, of course things might have changed. https://blogs.secondlife.com/people/Torley.Linden
  18. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Login_screen Near the bottom ............. :-)
  19. Scripts have little or nothing to do with ARC. Remove clothing and objects from your AV, mostly objects. Hair and dresses being major ACR consumers. Start taking cloth and attachments off and see what's causing the problem then remove those and/or replace them with less ARC consuming items. Some custom AVs (I'm not going to name any names for my own personal safety. LOL) can also be a problem you might need to switch to a less resource consuming Avatars. What do you consider high, btw? Myself an ARC of below 1000 seems about right but I cheat some. No, I cheat a lot. LOL It really matter most on SIMs with an over abundance of AVs on them like clubs, combat and at events.
  20. If your using a Windows OS do a check disk. See help and support for instructions. For additional maintence activities see this: http://sites.google.com/site/powerlinks7/5-pc-maintenance-essentials
  21. Is it active? Set it to active and try again.
  22. Hehehehehehe, another satisfied customer. Your welcome. After running my check disk yesterday a few of my glitches went away too. http://sites.google.com/site/powerlinks7/5-pc-maintenance-essentials
  23. Hmmm, Thank you, that just reminded me I haven't done a check disk in some time I try to run them weekly but I use this PC heavily. :-) I do defragmentations daily. http://sites.google.com/site/powerlinks7/5-pc-maintenance-essentials
  24. I think you have some bad skins and I'd get rid of them anyway I could. If you bought them then contact the creator about this. There are two other possibilities however, That you have some sort of hang up in the viewer software so reload the viewer software. The second is an error on your hard drive(s). If your using Windows run a check disk/disk check.. I'd try another viewer first before doing these suggestions and remove them using it, if possible, that way. http://emerald.modularsystems.sl/ (If you haven't used emerald it's very good. I recommend it.)
