  1. The only thing you can do is to keep trying. Homes become available all the time based on people leaving them for bigger land parcels, etc. You can change your Linden home up to 5 times a day I believe. --Cinn
  2. What was the error message you got?? Can't really help without a bit more information. Also, your question has no text. If you are using IE9 you need to change the compatibility mode (by clicking the torn page icon to the right of the address bar) so that it works with these forums. --Cinn
  3. Probably best to contact Phoenix support on this one. You will find that at http://www.phoenixviewer.com Or contact their inworld support group. --Cinn
  4. Read the Sailboat Help notecard that came with the boat. You will find a number of places listed. (copied below) Also a simple search for "sailing" in search will list about a hundred more. --Cinn Blake Sea - Half Hitch http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Blake%20Sea%20-%20Half%20Hitch/115/43/22 Bering http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bering/205/32/21 Rodel http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Rodel/131/191/22 Mhindepinde http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Mhindepinde/112/174/23 Ahab's Haunt http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ahab%27s%20Haunt/228/29/22
  5. You need to create a group, set the land to that group, add your partner to the group and then set his group ability to be able to Set Home. --Cinn http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Creating-managing-moderating-and-disbanding-groups/ta-p/700111
  6. Hi Monica, You calculations are correct. But I suspect you did things out of sequence and probably took a double tier charge. Its an easy mistake to make. When you buy land that's going to be deeded to a group, the best way is to use the Buy for Group button in the About Land window. Most people just click on the land and choose buy. What that does is make it a personal purchase. You have all your tier donated to your group but you bought for yourself and you went over the $40 tier. Then when you deed the land to the group, you would drop your personal ownership and the group tier contribution covers the land. Unfortunately for you, you have to pay the higher tier for one month because of the sequence that you used to purchase the extra land. As far as the 10%, it is automatically added to the group contribution. So the best way to take advantage of it and stay below your target monthly tier is to donate all your tier to the group first and then buy the land using the Buy for Group button. Hope that helps. --Cinn
  7. Land terraforming rights are granted via the Group settings, not the About Land settings. Or through making them an Estate Manager through the Region/Estate settings if you are talking about a full sim that you own. If its just a land parcel, then you need to deed the parcel to a group, add your friend to that group and make sure that their group role includes the ability to terraform group land. --Cinn
  8. Your friend is most likely correct. Go to your Dashboard -Account - Transaction History and that will tell you where the linden is going. Usually when its just 1 or 2 linden, it is a group that has the Pay Group Liabilities assigned to the Everyone role. So once a week when the Show Place in Search fees are due on group land, everyone in the group gets hit with a small fee. Your Transaction History will show which group or groups it is. --Cinn

  10. If you cannot return the object using the Manage - Return, then perhaps its root prim is not on your property. A linked object sees its position in the virtual world by the location of the center of the root prim. You can verify if the object is actually on your land by going to About Land - Objects and clicking on the refresh button. That will show all objects on your parcel. If there, you can highlight and return to owner. --Cinn
  11. Do the individual parcels have the Show Place in Search (L$30/week) selected in the About Land - Options? --Cinn
  12. If you choose Wear from the right-click popup menu in Inventory, the clothing will replace anything(s) at that layer. If you choose Add, it will be added on top of anything(s) there. That's the standard SL viewer function. Can't say if its the same in the TPVs or not. --Cinn
  13. This is no avatar login list in the standard SL viewer. It only caches the last name logged in. So probably a Phoenix/Firestorm viewer question for their support group. I suspect you will have to clear the list somewhere in their menus. --Cinn
  14. Have him check and make sure that Build - Options - Select Only My Objects is NOT selected. Otherwise that will cause the problem he is having. --Cinn
  15. The weekly stipend is paid on Tuesday (early morning SL time). So if you signed up before Monday of last week, you should check with Billing or Live Chat and see what happened to your stipend for last week. --Cinn
  16. Sounds like data spiking. Similar to a denial of service attack. Buffers in your DSL modem are getting overrun causing it to shutdown which of course also shuts down you phone since it shares the same line and modem. Why an area search in Firestorm would cause that is a mystery, but since area search is unique to Phoenix/Firestorm, you probably should contact their support staff for futher advice. In the mean time, you could try setting your viewer bandwidth down to the minimum 500 and see if that at least keeps your line from crashing. And you may want to look for causes outside of SL. See if you have excess inbound traffic when you are not running SL. --Cinn
  17. Upper right hand corner of the window. Right next to the speaker icon which is the volume control. To the right of the time. --Cinn
  18. hmmmmm...when did they add a defriend notification? As far as I know there is not one. However, someone knows you defriended them if they pay attention to their friends list because when you defriend them, you drop off of their friends list. --Cinn

Assuming you are speaking of the Maturity selections in Preferences - General tab of the viewer....make sure you log out and log back in to see if the age verification worked. If you age verified while logged in, the viewer will not know that until you log out and back in. --Cinn
  20. Sure. Post your desire in the Make Friends forum! --Cinn
  21. An alt is simply an alternate account. Just like your first account, you set your password when you create the alt account. --Cinn
  22. Group fees go to the group. Look at your Group Info - Land/Assets and you should see your group linden balance. These dividends will be paid to every member of the group that has a role with the ability to Pay Group Liabilities and Receive Group Dividends. Which by default is the Everyone role. So you may want to review your group roles if you haven't done so all ready. I believe this type of group dividend is paid weekly although it may be once a day like group land sales. Not sure. --Cinn
  23. Lexie Linden was at one time, but I honestly don't know if she still is or if she is even still with LL. --Cinn
  24. Assuming the sim is/was a private estate, the first thing you should do is try to contact the sim owner, your landlord or whoever you have been paying your rent to. If you get no response and the sim no longer appears on the World Map, then it may have been taken offline, in which case you will need to open a support ticket with LL and see if they will reopen the sim long enough for you and other residents to remove your items. --Cinn
  25. Players are very common. Nothing more than web media on a prim. Nothing illegal about them. And the paid for surveys have been around forever as well. I don't see any fraud here. But your keyboard is broken and need the caps lock replaced. Otherwise people will think you are yelling at them. --Cinn
