  1. No not a Linden nor an employee. Just a 4+ year resident that spends time helping here on the forums.
  2. No rules that I'm aware of. Mainland roads have sometimes been difficult to travel due to sim crossings and overcrowded sims. But the overcrowding is pretty much gone now and sim crossings have improved over what they were a couple years ago. So rock on, RoadWarrior!! :smileyvery-happy: --Cinn
  3. Nothing?!? Not even an error message? Odd Please post your computer specs including OS so we have some information to try to help. Don't create a new thread, just use the Options - Edit to add additional information to your existing one. --Cinn
  4. You have a username That is EvaZexel For all the modern viewers, that is all you need to login along with your password of course. If you are using an antique viewer use Resident as your last name. and EvaZexel as your first name. --Cinn
  5. Have him look at the advice here: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/wearing_entire_inventory --Cinn
  6. Being a sim owner doesn't automatically make you a premium member. Basic accounts can own sims and as such would not be able to access Wildeness. But as this is a resident supported forum, I have no way of checking to see if you are premium or not. Give Live Chat or Billing a call. And I would imagine your Dashboard - Account summary page would verify your premium status. --Cinn
  7. In answer to your questions. Yes you can actually own up to 4608sqm at a $25 per month tier (4096 paid + 512 free) And if you create a group to own the land, you can own an additional 10% or 5068sqm total Yes it is a sliding scale. Yes you can use the linden you earn inworld to pay your monthly tier BUT you need to covert it to USD by selling it in the Linden Exchange so that the dollars go into your USD account as a credit. Then when the monthly billing comes along, LL will first take from you USD account (ie your credit) before they charge your credit card or Paypal account. As long as you have enough USD credit sitting there each month, you will never get charged on your credit card. I handle my land tier AND my premium account payments that way and have for the last 3 years. I found the best way to manage this was to sell my linden once a week. I do that on Tuesdays after the weekly stipend payments arrive. Since I actually have a couple premium alt accounts as well, I simply decide who needs the USD credits next and collect all the linden to that account and then sell. By doing it on a scheduled basis and staying a couple months ahead of my tier payments, I am never in a panic situation where I need to sell linden and can't get online or something silly like that. --Cinn
  8. Funny. When I joined, there were no Linden Homes offering or Free Land. I had to go out buy my land and learn how to build a house and furnish it with only 117 prim. You get a house that does not count against your prim allotment and where you can abandoned and go find another one without having to buy again and somehow that's not good enough If you and your friend want to be neighbors, go out and buy ajoining land somewhere on the mainland, build your homes and have a blast. Linden Homes were designed as starter homes to get people comfortable with land/home ownership and to drive more people to become premium members. As such they come with limitations and picking a specific house is one of those limitations. --Cinn
  9. A premium account gives you the ability to own 512sqm of land without having to pay any additional monthly tier. There are a couple ways you can use this benefit Get a Linden Home - These are predefined land parcels on themed land. They are 512sqm with 117 prim and a house that does not count against the parcel prim allotment. They are only available on Mature rated sims and you cannot use a Linden Home for commercial use such as running a shop. Buy your own land - You can purchase 512sqm of land on any mainland sim (owned by LL). You have to pay for the land upfront, buying it from either another resident, getting it at auction or buying abandoned land directly from LL at $1 per sqm. In general all these parcels will support 117 prim and you would have to build your own house which would count against that prim count. However, you can buy land in General, Mature or Adult sims. And you can use this land for commercial purposes. Also note that there are a few mainland locations with double prim counts, so that 512sqm parcels have 234 prims. These are hard to comeby and extremely expensive to buy upfront but if you find one the monthly tier is still free. Last thing to mention is that you can buy/ownland from other residents on private estates without having a premium account. These you can find on General, Mature and Adult sims. --Cinn
  10. No harm in asking them. Submit the appropriate support ticket and see what they say. --Cinn
  11. Update your ATI graphics drivers. This problem has been widely discussed here since Valentines Day and there are 100's of threads now with the solution. You should have stumbled across a couple when you typed pink in the title of your post. If you need more details, just do a search on "pink" --Cinn
  12. What to do if you forget your password If you know your username but have forgotten your password, go to the password recovery page. Enter your username and click Send Instructions to have instructions on how to create a new password sent to the email address connected to the account . You'll need to answer the security question you chose when creating your Second Life account. Be sure to check your junk mail/spam folder. If you can't recall the answer to your security question, just contact Customer Support, preferably by opening a support case. You'll be asked to verify your identity and, working together, we can reset your security question. We apologize in advance that support cannot retrieve passwords. Luckily, this won't be an issue once we reset your security question.
  13. That is a Windows Media player stream which is not going to work in SL. I looked around and I didn't see where they had an alternative stream source that would work. --Cinn
  14. as per wiki on phishing http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Email_Scam_%28Phishing%29_FAQ How do I report a fake email? Forward it to security@secondlife.com. --Cinn
  15. It really depends on the shape of the land so there is no way to say without looking at the parcel. A 30x41 structure is only 1230sqm so you have enough square meters. The minimum size that this stucture would fit on is a 32 x44 parcel or 1408sqm. --Cinn
  16. One suggestion I've heard is to use an alt. The problem I think with that is they would have to be a premium account. Not sure of the Linden Home process as I don't have one and don't want one even though I'm a premium account. I prefer living where I want and building my own houses
  17. Normally when you are renting, your landlord wil put you into a special group that allows you to put down your stuff. If that didn't happen, then you should contact the person you are renting from for assistance. If you were put into a group by your landlord, then you need to make that group the active group in order to put out your stuff. --Cinn
  18. Yes. Just take your stuff back into inventory and then Abandon Land in the About Land dialog. You should note however that alot of people have been complaining here in the forum that there is currently a lack of choice in Linden Homes at the moment. So there is no guarantee you will get what you want right away. --Cinn
  19. Here is an article written Monday that talks about the topic of this thread. http://slnewser.blogspot.com/2012/04/byngo-maybe.html --Cinn
  20. 128, 128, z With z being the height coordinate. --Cinn
  21. I assume by FB you mean Facebook. If it were me, I would do the following steps in this order. Completely remove all viewers including cache and configuration files. If you want to save chat logs, make sure you copy them somewhere Update your graphics drivers using installation files from the manufactorer, NOT from Dell. Make sure they install cleanly Install or update to the latest version of Java Install or update to the latest version of Adobe Flash Install or update to the latest version of Quicktime FB games should be working Install a viewer. Just one. And test Hopefully everything is working at this point. Good luck. ETA: Yes this Answers forum is conversation impaired. But you found the right way to update and answer. Keep adding information to this thread and check it for other advice. All the helpers here know to check open threads like this for updates while we try to help you with your problem. I see Peggy posted a long thread for you already. BTW are the FB games also still not working?? --Cinn
  22. Trixie Silvercloud wrote: protecting his game and avatars from being susspended is causing drama? i would protect my av as well if no explaination was given to me No. Turning his server off is causing all the drama. There is no reason why he can't turn the service back on. As I see it, turning it off is an omission of guilt. The best course of action in my opinion is for him to turn everything back on and deal with the game removals on a case by case basis. --Cinn
  23. US law has nothing to do with this issue. Only the SL TOS. And it is vague enough to allow LL plenty of latitude with regards to decisions like this one. What IS at issue is the fact the the owner of this game decided to shut his servers down ON HIS OWN. This according to all published accounts. LL has NOT ordered him to shut down as far as I can tell. A good savvy business person would have kept their operation running. Seems to me he has decided he is going to be shutdown for gambling and is making a huge drame scene so that he can keep all the money he's earned from the land owners that bought into his "yes its legal" sales pitch. --Cinn
  24. Anywhere you want.....almost If you put a skyplatform at 400m or lower it will appear on the World map so many people avoid anything lower than 400m. And you cannot rezz objects above 4096m, so you need to be below that as well Other than that, the sky's the limit! One way to create a sky platform is to create it on the ground. Once you have it created, Go into Edit and change the Z location of the platform to the height you want. It will instantly jump to that new location. --Cinn
  25. You will have to open a support ticket and get LL help on that one. Its suppose to be impossible for the last owner to leave a group, but it apparently happens from time to time. If there are still 2 or more members in the group but no owner, then LL should be able to help you. If there are no group members or only 1 group member then the group will be closed if it hasn't been already. ETA: Technical Questions - Group Issues would seem to me to be the best choice. ETA2: Go to Help - Support Click on the Contact Support option on the right side of the screen. Then click on the Submit a Support case form link in the main text. That will take you HERE. I just double checked and the Technical Questions section is a Premium account selection only. So if you are a Basic account, getting your group back will not be available to you and you will probably just have to create a new group. --Cinn
