  1. LL went to a single username back in November 2010. You can use the Dispay name option to create a first and last name if you so choose. And if you run into a situation that requires a last name, use Resident --Cinn

  4. There is a section of Zindra (around Kama City) that has restrictions on both terraforming and subdividing/joining land. Look at your About Land - Covenant tab toward the bottom of the page and you will see rather your parcel can be subdivided. --Cinn
  5. A group I am in recently announced in group IM that anyone writing a review of one of their products purchased in MP will receive a xx% discount on future purchases. They are going to award this discount regardless of the type of review (good or bad) and have referenced a KB article as Linden approval for paying for reviews. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Writing-item-reviews-on-the-Marketplace/ta-p/954941 "Reviews should not be written for pay, or for other rewards or compensation unless both positive and negative reviews are rewarded." For the life of me, I can't think of a good reason for this marketing tactic. Is there some value to have lots of reviews for a product? Do they appear higher in search or something? Has anyone out there tried this approach to get increased product reviews? Thx! --Cinn
  6. Is this the place? http://www.flickr.com/photos/walkering/230055792/ My google research shows that this building was in Miramare. Its not there anymore, although a couple of the buildings in that photo are still on the sim. --Cinn
  7. No, all Linden Homes are the same land size. And there is only one level of premium account. There are just different payment term options. But all premium accounts have the same benefits. --Cinn
  8. Sorry but I'm not sure what an 8 hour work day looks like. In RL, days are 24 hours. Most 8 hour work days are all sunlight hours during the summer. What exactly are you looking for?? If you simply want the SL day (which is 4 hours long) to be daylight all the time, thats a very easy thing to do assuming you own or control a private sim. Plus anyone can override a region's day setting in their viewer, assuming you don't have sim control. --Cinn
  9. Unscheduled MaintenancePosted by Status Desk on May 7th, 2012 at 11:42 am PDT [Posted 11:42am PDT 7 May 2012] We are currently undergoing unscheduled maintenance. This may cause some Residents to be logged out or prevent some from being able to login. Some services including the Second Life Marketplace are unavailable during this maintenance. Please keep an eye on this blog for updates. Granded they don't say much, but when there is "unscheduled maintenance" I personally avoid doing anything that has to do with dollars, linden or inventory! Safer that way --Cinn
  10. I've never tested it, but I'm guesing it uses the ASCII sort order. --Cinn
  11. Yes. Somethings broken but no update from Linden yet. Inworld is not much better...teleporting seems to be down so no one is going anywhere fast! --Cinn
  12. If you are the group owner, you cannot remove that ability for yourself as owner. Someone has to be responsible for group liabilities and dividends. If you are trying to remove it from the Everyone role, just go to Group Info - Roles - Roles tab. Highlight the Everyone role and then go down and uncheck that ability. --Cinn
  13. Along with the other good answers already posted on how to make sure you have tiered down to 0, remember too that land tier is payed AFTER the month is over not before. Your Dashboard - Account - Account Summary will show you very clearly what payments are due, how much they are and when they will be billed. --Cinn
  14. You should have notified her boss about her bad behavior WITHOUT copying the actual converation. The Disclosure rule is very specific in that IM and chat conversation may NOT be shared without the explict consent of all parties. So yes it is a ARable offense although I doubt that much will come of it. Next time paraphrase instead of cutting/pasting. --Cinn
  15. The most likely cause is that you had the land in a group and you forgot to remove your group land tier contribution and then tier down at the Land Manager. Plus all land tier is payed at the END of the month, unlike premium fees which are paid at the beginning. But since you are leaving, this information is just for the other people who will read this thread so they won't make the same mistake that you did. ETA BTW I've never had to wait on hold to talk to Billing. And no one changed the rules on you. Been this way as long as I've been a member Oh and don't forget to cancel your premium account before you leave or you will be automatically billed at the next cycle --Cinn
  16. You need to age verify. Dashboard - Account - Age Verification If you are logged inworld when you verify, you will have to logout and then back in for the setting to take. --Cinn
  17. Goto Me - Preferences - Privacy Location of your logs will be listed at the bottom. Basically its something like: C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife AppData is a hidden system folder so you will need to change your folder settings if you don't see it. ETA: Just a quick edit. This is based on SL Viewer 3 and Windows 7 or Vista. If you have something different, add the info to your post and I'm sure someone can direct you to the right places. --Cinn
  18. When you are working on a small parcel, exact positioning is critical. Sometimes objects look like they are centered on the parcel but often they are a fraction off. Go back to your first 16x32 prim and check its Position coordinates in Edit - Object tab. They should be a whole number and represent the exact center of your land parcel. If you see something with decimals like 64.046, manually change it to 64.0 Or if its 83.976, it should probably be 84.0. Also make sure that your prim size is exactly 16.0 x 32.0 Once you have your "land prim" in the exact center of the parcel, you will find it easier to adjust everything else. Regarding the skybox, sounds like the rezzer used by its creator thinks that some part of the skybox is going off of your land parcel when you try to move it. You could try saving the build and then manually move the skybox into place based on your now perfectly aligned land prim. Or you could adjust the position coordinates of the rezzer using Edit - Object like above and just move it a little at a time. ETA: A good home builder will usually build their homes on whole number position coordinates and also position the rezzer to a whole number as well to make it easier to position. Good luck! --Cinn
  19. Check the owner of the vendors in the shop. Right click - Edit That person is also the founder of the group that owns the land so its probably the person you are looking for. ETA: Also the same person built the building. Same check Right click on the floor - Edit --Cinn
  20. You've contacted the creator 3 times in a 2 month period. She responded twice. Chances are actually good she will respond again if you perhaps increase the frequency of your messages to her. You had no problem posting this 3 times in the forums in less time than that. :smileytongue: And you really should remove the name of the business. It's against the forum guidelines and it doesn't add value to your multiple posts. If anything, it will get them moderated off the forum. --Cinn
  21. wiked Anton wrote: i thought those settings were in preferances. Depends on the viewer. in SL viewer 3 they are in the World menu --Cinn
  22. yep. World - Environment Editor - Environment Settings click Customize my environment That will override region settings --Cinn
  23. Without a picture, its hard to guess if this is a lighting problem or a skin texture issue. So going with the suggestion that its a lighting problem, go to World - Environment Editor - Environment Settings, click on Customize my environment and then try changing the Day cycle setting. Toogle through the settings and see if you find one that "fixes" the graying problem. That way at least you will know if lighting is causing your problem. --Cinn
  24. Not sure what you mean by a v3 object? Objects are the same across all viewers. If you are referring to mesh or sculpt objects then perhaps you need to adjust your RendervolumeLODFactor to a higher setting. You will find it in the Debug Settings in the Advanced menu (Ctrl - Alt D) --Cinn
  25. Hi Alezana, I would recommend you post this to the Make Friends forum HERE Answers is not well suited for conversational posts and people looking for friends will be looking in the Make Friends forum. --Cinn
