  1. It is rarely wise to have more than 3 or 4 items in your shopping cart at a time. I usually avoid it altogether and simply use the Buy Now button. The shopping cart is very easily confused. It tends to jam or to send orders to a merchant's Magic Box faster than the box can handle them, so people who put too many things in a shopping cart can have delivery problems. So..... the best answer is Yes, change to putting fewer items in the shopping cart.
  2. Send Arcadia a note. She is the only one who can do anything about it, if she chooses to. I put that sort of note on scripts that I contribute free to the community too, but there's really no way to police it.
  3. Someone posted the identical question here yesterday. Take a look >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Everything-Else/how-do-i-place-items-into-a-houes/qaq-p/1407771 :smileywink:
  4. It can sometimes take anywhere from a few minutes to a day or more for your items to be delivered, especially if the merchant's Magic Box is temporarily out of service or the sim it's on is offline. The "delivered" message just means that Marketplace sent a delivery request to the Magic Box. (I know, it's a crummy system, but LL keeps promising that they are going to replace it.) Not that it helps now, but to remember for the future: (1) Don't overuse the shopping cart. It is easily confused if you put more than a couple of things in it. (2) Don't buy things from Marketplace (especially LOTS of things) unless you are in world to receive them at the time. We each have an "in box" that holds IMs, notecards, group notices, group invitations, and anything that is delivered to us if we aren't in world at the time. That "in box" can only hold 25 things, total. If anything else comes in, it isn't saved. It is gone ... poof .... forever. If you have a mess of things delivered from Marketplace and half your friends send you notecards, that in box will be capped and you will never know what happened. So, what do you do now? ....... To get a record of the individual items in your order, open Marketplace and click the My Marketplace menu at the top of the page. Select My Account >> Order History from the pulldown menu. If you do not receive items within about 24 hours, you should cut and paste the information about a missing item from that Order History and send it in a IM or notecard to the merchant, along with a polite message requesting redelivery. Most merchants are very kind and willing to redeliver. This happens all the time and they are aware of it. Do be patient, though. Not everyone logs in to SL every day or checks their e-mail. If you still haven't heard in another day or two, follow it up with a second polite note and finally, if you STILL haven't heard, file a support ticket at https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ , selecting Marketplace from the pulldown menu.

    file a ticket

There's no TOS violation here. Most merchants will respond to messages and replace your purchase, but they are not obligated to. Besides, it's quite possible that the merchant never received your message because (1) she doesn't come in world very often or (2) her messages are capped. Try filing a support ticket. Select "Marketplace" from the pulldown menu, and be sure to include the information that you posted here. BTW, you will usually get a faster response here if you start your own thread instead of attaching your question to someone else's old thread.
  6. The object_rez event yields the UUID of the object that was just rezzed. All you have to do is write object_rez(key id){ vector Pos = llList2Vector(llGetObjectDetails(id,[OBJECT_POS]),0);} And save both the UUID and the Pos. That's what Kaluura was saying.
  7. Follow the perfect directions that Venus gave you. Don't expect a "perfect" color match, however. Your skin is not always the same color. As you might expect -- look at the color of your RL skin -- the color depends on the time of day, the sun angle, whether you are in shade or direct sunlight, the color of other lights around you, and whatever Windlight settings may be used where you are standing. The best you can expect is a rough approximation of your skin color that will look "sort of correct" most of the time.

Afin de créer une notecard, ouvrez votre inventaire et cherchez le petit signe "+" au bas de la fenêtre. Cliquez sur le signe et sélectionnez "Nouveau Notecard".
  9. You will be entitled to a L$1000 bonus after you have been a Premium member for 45 days. For more information about your Premium membership read here >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Premium-membership/ta-p/1054477
  10. Just drag them from your inventory to the floor. If you want to move them around, select any item with a right click and then open your Build/Edit tool (CTRL + 3). Use the red/green/blue arrows to move things. Hold down the CTRL key and use the colored circles to rotate things.
  11. <sigh> Doesn't anyone ever look to see whether someone else has asked the same question over and over and over and over again......? You are not the only one. Look down the list of questions before yours and you'll see many others since early February. Some people who have ATI graphics cards are having this problem with the most recent V3 upgrade. See http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-4945 . For a quick but temporary solution, go to Preferences >> Graphics and disable Basic Shaders. For a more permanent solution update the 12.1 Catalyst driver from http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx?type=2.4.2&product=2.4.2.... or run the AMD driver autodetect tool to update: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx

  13. If you have L$1999 less than you used to, your transaction history should tell you exactly where it went. Check Account >> Transaction History at your dashboard at http://secondlife.com. If you paid L$1999 to someone within the past 30 days, the record will be there. If your Transaction History in Marketplace doesn't indicate that you ever bought the bathtub in the first place, then that's not where the L$1999 went. If you still want the bathtub, why not go ahead and buy it now? If you have further questions, you probably ought to call the Linden Lab billing office and speak directly to someone who can trace the L$ for you. 14. Talia Davidov wrote: @rolig I agree its more effecient the way you suggest. I was just trying to start simple :smileyhappy: I love simple. I wasn't tossing a rock at you, Talia. Just trying to save the OP from designing a HUD with five times the prims and scripts that he needs for a really easy job. :smileywink:
  15. harrutriegenn wrote: nah, it doesnt even let me push the button when i add that... -edit: someone said I should get rid of the llGetOwner. and that should take care of it, but my biggest concern with that, is, what if I plan on selling this in the sl market and 2 people have the same item, the llGetOwner makes sure its the owner telling it what to do, but if I take that out, some one elses hud will mess with your item... or anyone who knows the key words can mess it up... Oh, that part's easy. Just create a negative channel out of the owner's UUID. Use the same formula in each of your scripts so that they all have the same unique channel. integer gChan = (integer) ( "0xF" + llGetSubString( llGetOwner(),0,6 ) );
  16. That's odd. It works for me. I just tried it. The server is being slow to connect, but it's there. ETA: Oh, you mean the Wanted forum link? You can get there by just clicking FORUMS at the top of this page, but I put it in the last sentence anyway....... :smileytongue:
  17. It's going to be imprecise no matter which way you do it. It you don't like relying on speed, use distance. llVecDist(llGetPos(),start_pos) will tell you where the object is relative to its starting point, if you saved its start_pos on rez. You'd need to run a fast timer to sample the distance as the object flies. I'm not aware of any unreliability in llDie.
  18. You use negative channel if you have objects speaking to other objects. That's exactly what you want to do in this case. Your HUD (object A) is speaking to your distant objects (B,C,D,E ...). So all you need is a HUD script. You could do it by building a multiprim HUD and putting a separate script in each button, as someone else suggested above, but that's kind of a wasteful use of resources. A nicer solution is to use a single prim and just make different portions of it sensitive to touch -- like mapping URLs on an image on a web site. Suppose you want to speak to four objects, for example. Divide your HUD prim into four quadrants and write something like.... default{ touch_start(integer num) { integer MSG; vector Button = llDetectedTouchST(0); if (Button.x < 0.5) { if (Button.y < 0.5) // SW quadrant { MSG = 3; } else { MSG = 1; / NW quadrant } } else { if (Button.y < 0.5) // SE quadrant { MSG = 4; } else // NE quadrant { MSG = 2; } } llRegionSay(-289467, (string)MSG); //Send the message }} Just remember that your receiving scripts will hear the MSG as a string. ETA: Your posted your response while I was typing mine. :smileytongue: So, since you have five possible responses instead of four, divide your HUD prim into five parts (Button.x < 0.2, (Button.x >=0.2) && (Button.x < 0.4), and so forth) and make your MSG a string instead of an integer as I suggested.
  19. There are no Lindens here. Just us residents, like you. Still, we try...... :smileywink: The best way to get the answers to your questions is to ask other sailors. You can get a start by posting your question in either the General Discussion forum or the Favorite Destinations forum. I'm sure that people over there will have some helpful tips. Meanwhile, take a look at https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Sailing_in_Second_Life . I have no idea how current the information there is, but it may at least point you in fruitful directions.

22. It sounds like you are trying the right things. If the items were actually in your inventory for the past two days, then you're not dealing with a Marketplace delivery issue any more. The only reason for trying to contact the sellers at this point is to get insights from them about what happens when their breedables go astray. They have a record of your original purchases, and they may also have a standard policy of replacing lost ones. Don't be too discouraged about a lack of response, but do keep trying. Many merchants not are likely to be in world every day, and are quite likely to have capped IMs and notecards, so it may take a while for you to get through. If you rezzed the lost items, be sure to check your sim's garbage collection area --- <0.0,0.0,0.0>, the extreme SW corner --- to see if they are there. That's where the servers send things when they get confused. I check mine about once a month and almost always find something that someone has lost. It's most likely that you haven't lost the items at all, but that your locally cached copy of inventory has been borked. I know you said that you cleared cache, but it's probably a good idea to do it again. This time, do it "manually" from outside SL. Here are some good instructions >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/cache_clear . They are written for Firestorm users, but the process is the same for any viewer. It's important that you log back in at a quiet, low-lag sim like Pooley or Aqua and let your cached inventory rebuild slowly. Depending on the size of your inventory, it could take quite a long time, so be patient and don't do anyhing else while it's working. Go out for coffee. When it is no longer "fetching ...," you should have a clean copy of inventory and (fingers crossed) your lost items. The last resort is to contact Live Chat and tell them everything you have already done. Good luck.
  23. It may be either a threaded optimization issue or a problem with your anti-virus routine. Take a look at those two possibilities, discussed at http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_100_cpu .
  24. Try operating without having shadows enabled. See >>> Version 3.0 Shadows Mode makes some objects / textures invisible
  25. According to the support team from Firestorm, "On Windows 7, if you find yourself being able to talk but not hear what others say, then a possible solution is to use the sound drivers from Vista." For other suggestions, see >> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_voice
