:smileysad:
  3. I don't really understand your question. If you are asking whether you NEED money in SL, the answer is NO. You only need money if you want to buy things. There are many free items in SL, and you have tools to make other things. If you WANT money in SL, then the easiest way to get it is to buy it with money that you bring in from RL. Earning L$ is not easy, and you will not earn much unless you have a lot of talent and are willing to spend a lot of time working. 4. If you're actually adjusting a pose ball and not the sit target in a script, you don't have to keep hopping on and off the thing. You can move a pose ball around with your Build/Edit tool ( the Red/Green/Blue arrows and circles) while you are sitting on it. That's pretty fast. I rarely use poseballs myself because I think they're unsightly, so I DO end up having to hop on and off as I adjust the sit target numbers in my scripts. That can be tedious at times, but you can get faster with practice.
  5. You ought to pose that question directly to the Phoenix developers. >>> admin@phoenixviewer.com . It's my understanding that the Direct Delivery system is not compatible with the V1 codebase, so there's no way to put a functioning Merchant Outbox in Phoenix. Rewriting that part of the code would be a massive undertaking. My guess is that it's not going to happen soon, if ever.
  6. Ah... Wait ..... I think I maybe understand what you are worried about. If you try to use the Merchant Outbox to upload things to your Marketplace store, but you haven't gone through the proper steps for migration to Direct Delivery, you get a prompt that tell you to create a store first. It doesn't know that you already have one. So..... You have to have a Received Items folder in your own inventory first. To make one, you need to have a current viewer that has that capability (V3 and Firestorm do). Then you have to BUY something from Direct Delivery and have it sent to you. Linden Lab created a new free Linden Bear for that purpose, so order it from Marketplace and down load it. That will create the Received Items folder. Now relog. The Merchant Outbox should work now. (Unless you are using Phoenix, which does not have a functioning Merchant Outbox.) It's a good idea to watch Torley's Direct Delivery migration video >>> and read the Migration Guide.

You may well find that explaining exactly what the problem is - such as, for instance, telling us what isn't working at the moment - helps to clarify things in your own mind as well, helping you to solve your own problems. [....] Peter's right. English would help. It's hard enough to follow someone else's lengthy script anyway, but it's impossible if we can't even understand what we're supposed to be looking for.
  8. I am not familiar with Voodoo Sploders at all, but I notice that a Google search for their website only turns up dead links. That suggests a couple of possibilities: 1. Their server is down 2. They have gone out of business
  9. It's a bit hard to understand the question, so let me just point you to Linden Lab's guide for selling in Marketplace. Maybe you'll find your answer there >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Selling-in-the-Marketplace/ta-p/700193 Note that this information has been updated to explain how the new Direct Delivery system works.
  10. It can sometimes take anywhere from a few minutes to a day or more for your items to be delivered, especially if the merchant's Magic Box is temporarily out of service or the sim it's on is offline. LL has begun to transition to a new system that will eventually make Magic Boxes obsolete. That system is very new, however, so most merchants still have Magic Boxes, which occasionally have delivery issues. Not that it helps now, but to remember for the future: (1) Don't overuse the shopping cart. It is easily confused if you put more than a couple of things in it. This part has nothing to do with Magic Boxes, so it will continue to be a problem even with the new system. (2) Don't buy things from Marketplace (especially LOTS of things) unless you are in world to receive them at the time. We each have an "in box" that holds IMs, notecards, group notices, group invitations, and anything that is delivered to us if we aren't in world at the time. That "in box" can only hold 25 things, total. If anything else comes in, it isn't saved. It is gone ... poof .... forever. If you have a mess of things delivered from Marketplace and half your friends send you notecards, that in box will be capped and you will never know what happened. So, what do you do now? ....... To get a record of the individual items in your order, open Marketplace and click the My Marketplace menu at the top of the page. Select My Account >> Order History from the pulldown menu. If you do not receive items within about 24 hours, you should cut and paste the information about a missing item from that Order History and send it in a IM or notecard to the merchant, along with a polite message requesting redelivery. Most merchants are very kind and willing to redeliver. This happens all the time and they are aware of it. Do be patient, though. Not everyone logs in to SL every day or checks their e-mail. If you still haven't heard in another day or two, follow it up with a second polite note and finally, if you STILL haven't heard, file a support ticket at https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ , selecting Marketplace from the pulldown menu.
  11. Oh, OK. Thanks, I see what she means now. Kinda faint. ( I thought it was my bifocals again. ) In that case ..... try updating graphics card drivers?
  12. Where are the blotchy parts? I'm not seeing them.

  14. As we have mentioned before, you have to start or stop the animations in the control event.............. else if (~level & edge) { llStopAnimation("Your walking animation"); //Insert your own anim name here llStartAnimation("Your standing animation"); //Insert your own anim name here }
  15. That's a very good question, Venus. I assumed that if you set your privacy preferences to allow access only to people in Second Life, the only people who can get to your feed should be people who have SL accounts. That's the understanding I had when I set MY preferences. I have ignored my.secondlife.com almost completely since then, though, so I couldn't tell you who might have tried to post to it.

    Voice is popular in a few places, but most people don't use it much so you may have a hard time finding other people who want to talk. I've never touched it myself. If you have your own voice enabled, look for someone with a white dot over his/her head. That person also has voice enabled and should be able to hear you. Otherwise, polish up your typing skills. Everybody can read typed chat. :smileywink:
  17. Viewers play a minor part in voice functionality. The bulk of voice support is given by the external application called SLVoice, which is made by the SL voice provider, Vivox. Voice failures are almost always due to one of the following reasons: Your ISP is throttling or blocking the voice service; failure of the Vivox service; voice issues on the region you are on; voice being throttled by bandwidth set incorrectly - please check it by following the instructions here; voice hardware (mic, headset) not configured correctly in your operating system settings; voice hardware not configured correctly in the viewer; another application has your voice hardware in use (example, Skype); your anti virus software has “mangled” the voice application; see here. You can test voice by going to Voice Echo Canyon. If voice is working correctly for you, anything you say there will be echoed back to you. There are good suggestions about how to solve common voice problems here >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_voice
  18. Replace it? The router is often the weakest point in your Internet pipeline. It is certainly a leading cause of the problems that people come here complaining about. Try rebooting the router by unplugging it from the power for a few minutes. If that doesn't work, check for firmware updates that may be available on line from the manufacturer.
  19. Possible, but a BAD idea. Your customers will curse you and other landowners on the same server will hunt you down like a dog for the lag you create.
  20. Read through http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Snapshot_and_machinima_policy to see what license you are granted.
  21. integer i;if (~( i = llListFindList(MENU_RIGHT,[message]) ) ){ if ( i != 5) { llSetTextureAnim(ANIM_ON | SMOOTH | LOOP , ALL_SIDES, -1, 1, 0, 0, 0.20 + (0.2*i)); } llDialog(id, "Pick an option!", MENU_RIGHT, channel);} I'm not sure what you mean by "i really dont want the button names different then [sic] one another ". If you just want to make your animated texture to run faster or slower, though, use a simple, three-button menu. Define a global float variable gSpeed and then write llDialog( id,"Change speed?",["Slower","Faster","Cancel"], channel); then if (message == "Slower"){ if (gSpeed > 0.0) { llSetTextureAnim( ANIM_ON | SMOOTH | LOOP , ALL_SIDES,-1, 1, 0, 0, (gSpeed -= 0.2) ); llDialog( id,"Change speed?",["Slower","Faster","Cancel"], channel); }}else if (message == "Faster"){ if (gSpeed < 1.0) { llSetTextureAnim( ANIM_ON | SMOOTH | LOOP , ALL_SIDES,-1, 1, 0, 0, (gSpeed += 0.2) ); llDialog( id,"Change speed?",["Slower","Faster","Cancel"], channel); }} The "Cancel" option dumps you out of that sequence, at which point you can prompt with a new dialog if you wish.
  22. Don't expect to make huge earnings from work in Second Life. By comparison with what you can earn at a job in RL (even selling burgers and fries), SL jobs rarely pay very well. To succeed as a creator in SL, you need to develop good technical skills and then you need to create a good product line and a client base -- all of which take time. Creating is great fun --- I have been at it as a scripter, builder, and clothing designer here for five years --- but don't plan on giving up RL work to do it. Create for the enjoyment of making things, the intellectual satisfaction of solving a very tricky problem, and the pleasure of sharing your work with others. If you make money too, that's great.
  23. It may well be a problem with your graphics drivers. ATI graphics cards, in particular, seem to create odd effects for SL residents whenever Catalyst drivers need to be updated. Here's where to get new ones ... Nvidia Video Driver Latest driver Last checked Feb 6th- Windows: 285.62 (Oct 24) beta: 295.51 (Jan 31) - Linux: 290.1 (Nov 22)ATI Video Driver Latest driver Last checked Feb 6th- Windows and Linux: 12.1 (Jan 25)Intel Video Driver Intel driver download page Intel does not have a universal driver set. Please go to Intel's site and select the appropriate download.Here's another possibility too >>> [PUBLIC] Black Screen when I enable Lighting and Shadows Try just turning off lighting and shadows in Preferences >> Graphics (possibly turn off Anti-aliasing too).
