  2. I think this is the same question that you asked earlier at http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Land/MAINLAND-TAX/qaq-p/1487593 . Let me repeat my answer in different words. There is no "tax" anywhere in Second Life. If you have land, however, you do need to pay a monthly land fee for it. On some pieces of land, you pay the fee directly to Linden Lab. On others, you pay to someone else who owns the region. In either case, you are paying rent to someone. I gave you a link to the section of the Knowledge Base that discusses land fees and tier. I suggest that you read it VERY carefully, especially since English is apparently not your native language. The only exception to what I have just said is that as a Premium member of Second Life, your first 512 sq m of land on the Mainland is free. You do not have to pay a monthly land fee for it. That is also explained in the Knowledge Base article that I recommended earlier. If you have other questions about this, click on the Options link in the upper right corner of your question and select EDIT. Please do NOT start a new thread.

    noise on land

Try using a beacon. You can get to your beacons menu from World >> Show More >> Beacons or by just typing CTRL + Shift + Alt + N. Click the box that says "Sound Sources" and select either the "Beacon" or "Highlight" option. Any sound source will either be highlighted in red or have a beacon over it. Wander around and check each one until you find the one that's going pop. Then don't forget to uncheck the box again to turn the beacon or highlight off.
  4. Did you check to be sure that you are wearing your group's tag when you rez the house? If not, you may be rezzing the house under the wrong group. If you have autoreturn set on the parcel, it will bounce the house back to your Lost & Found folder as soon as it hits the time limit. That's a very common problem. Any of us who have ever owned or rented land has made that mistake at least once.
  5. No tax. You do have to pay a monthly land use fee, but that's true anywhere in SL. It's essentially like paying rent in RL. See http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Buying-land/ta-p/700043#Section_.3
  6. Interesting. There's a Phoenix jira issue that might be relevant. Take a look and see >>> http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/PHOE-380 . You'll notice that the last entry suggests a workaround: "A possible workaround is to open preferences and go to phoenix->page 2->advanced graphics then uncheck "use object object occlusion" and see if that helps. Your framerate may drop when you uncheck it however."
  7. The ones that don't have "arrows" are empty, so there's nothing to open. Now, if they aren't supposed to be empty, that's a different matter. That usually means that your locally cached copy of inventory is out of sync with LL's asset servers. You'll have to rebuild it. Go to Preferences >> Network & Cache, and click the button that says Clear Cache. Then log out. When you log back in, log in at a nice quiet sim like Pooley or Aqua, where there's no lag. Move away from the landing spot and open inventory. Type any letter into the search field at the top of inventory to jump start the rebuilding process, then go make yourself a sandwich and a cup of coffee. It may take a while, so don't do anything else in world until it's done. When it stops "fetching" items from the asset servers, you should have everything that is supposed to be there. If not, come back here and tell us. We'll move on to Plan B. To add information. click on the Options link in the upper right corner of your question and select EDIT. 8. Try rebooting your router. You could just have a flaky connection.
  9. Hmmm... When I sell shoes, I don't sell separate invisiprims. I just package two styles in the box -- one with an alpha mask and the other with invisiprims. I figure that it's too much to ask the average customer to mess with getting something invisible positioned properly on her feet.
  10. Only one foot? That's unusual. If you are wearing an alpha clothing layer, it should hide portions of both feet (maybe the whole foot if you are wearing boots). I imagine that if you were somehow wearing an old-style invisiprim on one foot, it could be invisible, but it would be very unusual to have an invisiprim that isn't lined to a shoe that you are wearing as well. In any case, the way to see what's going on is to open the WORN tab in your Inventory and see what you are wearing right now. Start taking off things one at a time and see if anything makes your foot come back. If so, you've found it.
  11. Hmmm.. It sounds as if you have tried a lot of the methods that usually work. What remains is more difficult, unfortunately. You may find that the bake fail problem comes back repeatedly, even if you can fix it with one of the suggestions at http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_bake_fail or similar sites. If so, you have a chronically weak Internet connection. There are many steps to take for repairing it. Perhaps the simplest ones -- ones that work best for most people -- are: (1) Don't Use WIRELESS. Wireless connections are inherently less stable than direct cable connections and are more vulnerable to interference. Then, (2) Reboot your router. Unplug it from the power for a few minutes to let it clear its RAM. Then plug it back in and let it get a fresh hold on an IP address. If those simple steps don't clear it up for you, I suggest reading Nalates's blog on this topic very carefully and then doing some troubleshooting to find the root of the problem >>> http://blog.nalates.net/2011/10/26/troubleshoot-your-sl-connection/
  12. This seems to be the same question that you asked, and that I answered, at http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Inventory/i-want-know-why-i-lose-that-i-clear-my-cashe-but-i-need-every/qaq-p/1486673 . As I explained before, if you are missing items from your inventory, you probably need to clear your cache and let your viewer rebuild a new copy from the SL servers. I suggest doing a careful "clean" job, not just clicking the "clear cache" button. See >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_cache_clear . Also, see some other suggestions for recovering lost items >>>> http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Inventory_loss Click on the Options link in the upper right corner of your question and select EDIT if you want to add more information to your question. 15. I do not understand your question, but it seems to be a continuation of http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Inventory/i-want-know-why-i-lose-that-i-clear-my-cashe-but-i-need-every/qaq-p/1486673 . 16. You file an Abuse Report. Click Help >> Report Abuse in your viewer and fill in the requested information, including as much factual information as you have. If you took photos, that's ideal. Read about filing ARs here >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Filing-an-abuse-report/ta-p/700065 . You may also want to watch Torley's informational video on this topic >>>
  17. YW, Minx. This is a tricky area, as you might guess. A dismayingly high number of people who ask questions here either (1) can't post a legible question or provide enough information for us to answer or (2) post the same question over and over again, evidently not reading our suggestions. We get people who are belligerent and outright rude, right from the start. We also get many questions from people who are at their wit's end, sometimes struggling to communicate in English, not to mention those who barely know how to turn on their own computer. It can be very hard to figure out where a particular OP stands in that mix. It can also be frustrating for us -- all unpaid volunteers, SL residents like you -- to answer the same question five times in a single afternoon. People could save themselves (and us) a lot of time and grief by looking to see what's already been said about their question. That doesn't excuse snippiness or sarcasm, but it does explain it. I find that I bite my tongue a lot. I sometimes say things in a sharper tone than I ought to. I'm sure that the other very experienced volunteers -- largely women -- who answer questions here struggle with the same challenges that I do. I've known several who simply gave up and stopped answering. Those who persist are good people. They provide a free service, helping residents who might have no other place to turn for help, and they get very little appreciation for it. (Thank you for your own kind words. They do mean a lot.) When I see one of those rare snappy replies, I know where they are coming from. I'm sorry if you ever felt zapped by one of them, but please have patience and don't hesitate to post questions here. This really is one of the best places to get a quick, intelligent answer in SL.
  18. Especially if you have been changing from one viewer to another, you may have messed up your outfits folder (and other things). Take a look here >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/wearing_entire_inventory for suggestions that may help.
  19. People abandon starter homes all the time and move up to larger places, making them available for new Premium members. Also, Linden Lab occasionally adds more homes in styles that are particularly popular. It's sort of the way the housing market works in RL too. Just be patient and try again.
  20. if (~llSubStringIndex(llDetectedName(0), "arrow"){ llSay(0, "I found it.");} That's assuming that the word is "arrow" and not "Arrow" or "ARROW".
  21. You've had the same correct answer in four threads now, so you're probably not going to get a better one this time. If you are trying to use your Merchant Outbox with Phoenix, don't. It won't work. If you are using with with V3 or Firestorm, just be sure that you have created a Received Items folder and have logged out and back in again.
  22. Duplicate question. Original at http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Linden-Dollars-L/i-made-a-purchased-2-pink-Benzly-s-from-frageurs-Hockand-i-didnt/qaq-p/1486899
  23. It can sometimes take anywhere from a few minutes to a day or more for your items to be delivered. Not that it helps now, but to remember for the future: (1) Don't overuse the shopping cart. It is easily confused if you put more than a couple of things in it. (2) Don't buy things from Marketplace (especially LOTS of things) unless you are in world to receive them at the time. We each have an "in box" that holds IMs, notecards, group notices, group invitations, and anything that is delivered to us if we aren't in world at the time. That "in box" can only hold 25 things, total. If anything else comes in, it isn't saved. It is gone ... poof .... forever. If you have a mess of things delivered from Marketplace and half your friends send you notecards, that in box will be capped and you will never know what happened. So, what do you do now? ....... To get a record of the individual items in your order, open Marketplace and click the My Marketplace menu at the top of the page. Select My Account >> Order History from the pulldown menu. If you do not receive items within about 24 hours, you should cut and paste the information about a missing item from that Order History and send it in a IM or notecard to the merchant, along with a polite message requesting redelivery. Most merchants are very kind and willing to redeliver. This happens all the time and they are aware of it. Do be patient, though. Not everyone logs in to SL every day or checks their e-mail. If you still haven't heard in another day or two, follow it up with a second polite note and finally, if you STILL haven't heard, file a support ticket at https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ , selecting Marketplace from the pulldown menu.
  24. You need to create the Received Items folder first, so buy a direct Delivery item from Marketplace -- the free Linden Bear is a good idea. Then log out of SL and log back in again. Your Merchant Outbox should be ready to receive items for Marketplace. (Unless you are trying to use Phoenix. You cannot use the Merchant Outbox with Phoenix. You must use Firestorm or V3 instead.)
