  1. You will either have to create parallel lists (one for each person with a matched one for the amount the person has paid) or a single strided list that does the same thing. Both alternatives work. It's just a matter of what you feel most comfortable with. Then, when someone gives a tip, check the name (or UUID) to see if that person has tipped before, and then either add the person and his tip to the lists or update the tip total. When you write your script, it will probably be wise to include some mechnism for clearing all lists perdiocally so that they don't fill to capacity and make your script stall. You might want to do that when the person who is using the tip jar logs out.
  2. I don't understand what you are trying to do. I have already explained that Phoenix does not have a Merchant Outbox. You cannot use Phoenix to upload items to Marketplace for Direct Delivery. You will need to use Firestorm or the V3 viewer.
  3. No version of Phoenix supports the Merchant Outbox. Merchants will need to use Firestorm to submit their products to the SL Marketplace. The folder may exist in your inventory, but it will be non-functional.
  4. I have been building for over five years and have never had any reason to type in a texture repeat as large as 256, but I just tried it on a sculpty and it works in Firestorm. I assume that it works in V3 as well. As far as I can tell, there are no JIRA reports on this topic.
  5. Most scripted devices will only recognize your login name, because that's your permanent identification. A Display Name is not unique, and you are free to change it every week if you choose. Display Names are therefore only for casual use. As I explained in response to your earlier note, there is no way to change your permanent login name. Also, please understand that this is a resident-to-resident Answer service. We are not Lindens, and there are no Lindens here. Oh, and the answer to (a), (b), © is that the Premium Plan is the same whether you do something or not. When you pay a fee to become a Premium member, you have access to many extra features (a Linden Home, use of a Premium sandbox, access to Live Chat and a larger range of Support Ticket options .... ), but you can ignore any of them if you wish. The fee is the same. See here for more information about Premium membership >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Accounts-overview/ta-p/700019#Section_.2.2
  6. It's not just you, but it's very easy to fix. It has nothing to do with scripted objects, attached or not. You have your translator option turned on in Preferences >> Chat >> Chat Translation Settings, but you are not providing login information for either Google's paid translation service or Bing's free one. That's what it's asking for. Viewers in SL used to use the Google Translate API, which was free. Google made it a pay-for-service application in December, and Linden Lab wisely decided not to pay the fee and pass it on to users. You can still use the service, but now you have to go to Google (or Bing) and get your own ID and plug it in to Preferences. Or just turn it off. BTW, you can also buy translators in Marketplace that seem to work well.
  7. No, but you need to tell us a lot more than that. What do you mean by "Second Life kicks me out"? When? Do you get an error message? What is it? What computer are you using? What operating system? What sort of Internet connection? Which SL viewer are you using? Have you ever been able to get in world before? Work with us here. Click on the Options link in the upper right corner of your question and select EDIT to add more useful information to your post. Please do NOT start a new thread.
  8. If you have put two scripts with touch events into the same object, it's hard to know which one is likely to be triggered when you touch it. Remove one of the scripts, or combine them.
  9. The problem is bandwidth. When you set the Maximum Bandwidth in Preferences, you are telling your viewer how much of your available bandwidth to use for basic functions like rendering images, tracking movement and positions, handling communications ..... That Maximum Bandwidth setting does not account for any additional bandwidth you need for Voice and Streaming Media, both of which are handled by other routines. If you set the Maximum Bandwidth too high, therefore, and your viewer is using all of your available bandwidth for basic functions, there's nothing left for Voice and streaming media. Under some circumstances, adding that extra load can pre-empt what your viewer needs, so you crash. People who use wireless may find that this happens more often, because their actual available bandwidth can fluctuate wildly during a single session. We normally recommend that you set Maximum Bandwidth no higher than 75 to 80% of your normal download bandwidth. Don't trust what your ISP tells you that your bandwidth ought to be. Measure it at http://speedtest.net/ .
  10. This is by now a well-recognized bug. It showed up in late winter, but is still unresolved. See the JIRA >>> Sounds aren't played at first attempt . If you are playing a non-looping sound, you can get around the problem by pre-loading the sound file for each new av that enters the area, but that's a real nuisance, especially if the sound is not associated with a fixed spot -- as is the case if you are playing a gesture with a sound in it. If you are playing a looping sound, all you can do is stop it and restart it periodically.

    HELP PLEASE!

Did you follow the instructions that I gave you in your previous post >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Account/HELP/qaq-p/1561433 ? I told you that when you report your suspicion that your account has been compromised, Linden Lab will temporarily lock your account while they investigate. That is to protect you from whoever may have managed to get your account information. When they finish investigating and have declared your account safe again --- in two or three days -- you should be able to get back in world again.
  12. Welcome to the crowd. See http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/Help-this-pink-layer-keeps-apearing-on-my-torso/qaq-p/1... You will probably want to add constructive observations to this JIRA >>> https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-28954? to help the Linden Lab tech crew find a way to fix the bug. Meanwhile, you can fix it yourself by disabling Basic Shaders in Preferences >> Graphics. It's a bit ugly, but it works.
  13. Try testing if ( llDetectedKey(0) == llGetOwner() ) .
  14. I just used my.secondlife.com to look for the avatar you seem to be missing (Che Xxxxx). He's there, and has been in SL for almost 5 years. He ought to be able to log in to SL. If he has forgotten his password, he should follow the instructions in Account credentials to retrieve it.

  16. Probably the easiest way to do it is to use llSetKeyframedMotion , which will let you describe a path, including pauses, and then execute it in a continuous loop. Other than that, all you need to do is be sure that you have sit targets in appropriate prims, so that passengers don't sit on things like the outboard motor instead of seats. If you run into problems as you write your script, feel free to post what you have done as additions to this thread. Please understand, though, that this is not a place to come looking for someone else to write a script for you. If you want to hire a scripter, the Wanted section of the Commerce forum is the right place to post.
  17. Your second try (the one following "And:", not the one following "Such as:") is fine. You're using else if, so that the script doesn't have to keep chugging through all the incorrect options after it has been satisfied by an early one. The only thing that's going to make it fail is that most of the messages you are going to receive are not included in the list called Main_Menu, so the topmost if test in the listen event will fail. So, for the top level menu you can write if (~llListFindList (Main_Menu,[message]) ) but for the second level, you'll need to test whether the message matches the "Beer" list or the "Wines" list else if (~llListFindList(List_of_Beers,[message]) ) and else if (~llListFindList(List_of_Wines,[message]) ) Once you get going, you obviously want the final options in each branch of the if tree to have an actionable outcome (llSay something or llGive something or at least save a result of some kind). Otherwise, there's no point in doing all the braching if tests. Also, once you have that logic worked out you'll want to make provision for closing a llListen once the user has made a choice or letting a timer event cancel it. You'll end up with orphaned listens if you don't. BTW, using the state idea isn't a bad one. You could make it work easily enough by letting the state_entry event in each state hold the next level of dialogs. Just be sure that you re-open the llListen in each state, since they will be closed automatically with each state change. Although states can be clumsy, the advantage of using them is that you know the llListens will be closed and you know that the script will not let a second user break in which the first user is clicking menus. The touch_start event is only in state default, after all. I recommend reading through http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/DialogMenus carefully and then poking at several scripts in the LSL Library that use multi-level dialogs.
  18. Please read the section on License Conditions, part b, at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Snapshot_and_machinima_policy . Also note elsewhere in that policy that Linden Lab asks you to respect the privacy interest of members of the community.
  19. Start at http://www.shoutcast.com/ . Shoutcast will connect you to thousands of Internet radio stations. All you need to do is pick one that you like. Open it with your favorite audio program, grab its URL, and you're done.
  20. You can never change your username, MrZemunner. That name, like your RL Social Security Number, is permanent. You may choose a different Display Name -- a convenient nickname for use between friends -- but your official name by which you log in to SL and carry on all financial business cannot be changed. Other than using a Display Name, your only option is to open a new account (an alt) under a different username. See http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Usernames-and-display-names/ta-p/700173 for more information about usernames and display names.
  21. Terms of Service (Sect 12.2): "12.2 The applicable law and venue for any non-arbitrated dispute is California. You agree that this Agreement and the relationship between you and Linden Lab shall be governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict of law principles or the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods. Further, you and Linden Lab agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in the City and County of San Francisco, California, except as provided in Section 12.1 regarding optional arbitration. Notwithstanding this, either party shall still be allowed to apply for injunctive or other equitable relief to protect or enforce that party's Intellectual Property Rights in any court of competent jurisdiction where the other party resides or has its principal place of business." And TOS (Sect 13.1): "13.1 Second Life is a United States-based service. Linden Lab makes no representation that any aspect of the Service is appropriate or available for use outside of the United States. Those who access the Service from other locations are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws. The Linden Software is subject to applicable export laws and restrictions."
  22. If you want to be sure that the seat has the same rotation when you arrive as it did when you started traveling, you could use rotation OldRot = llGetRot() before you start and llSetRot(OldRot) when you arrive.
  23. That is not a message from Linden Lab. I would not use it if someone sent it to me.
  24. The final parameter is the number of seconds that it should take to arrive at the target position, so the smaller the number, the faster the object has to go in order to get to the target. According to the LSL wiki, "The smallest functional tau is 0.044444444."
  25. There might be a couple of things going on. First, be sure that you're really in your own house. Linden Homes look pretty much alike, so it's easy to be mixed up and walk into someone else's place by mistake. (Don't laugh. It happens. :smileytongue: ) What's probably happening, though, is that you have run into a well-known bug >>> Problem of not being able to rez on my land continues SL's servers seem to be getting confused about where the edges of your parcel are, so they think you are trying to rez things on your neighbor's land. Until the techies fix the problem, the way to deal with it is to rez things as close to the middle of your parcel as you can. Try to rez a cube near the center of your house., If you fail, keep trying over and over and over until you find a spot where it works. You will be able to rez other things there too, and then drag them to wherever you want them.
