  1. The answer is probably related to this (I've highlighted the part that often trips people up) .............. Linden Lab does not accept e-check (bank account) payments through PayPal because they cannot be processed quickly enough to match the instant delivery of virtual goods and services. Therefore, we require that you have a credit card on file with PayPal as a backup payment source, OR that you pay with your PayPal balance in USD. Without a sufficient USD balance in your PayPal account, you will not be able to use it with only a bank account. Be aware of your monthly limits. By default, your monthly spending limit with PayPal is set to US$250.00. You can easily raise or lower that limit. See Using PayPal for more information. If that's not the issue, you can call the Linden Lab billing team with a non-technical question at the following toll-free numbers, 24/7: US/Canada: 800-294-1067 France: 0805-101-490 Germany: 0800-664-5510 Japan: 0066-33-132-830 Portugal: 800-814-450 Spain: 800-300-560 UK: 0800-048-4646 Brazil: 0800-762-1132 Long distance ( not free, but you can use Skype to save some cost ) : 703-286-6277 **Note: Support is offered only in English
  2. Cash Button wrote: avinmenu is declared as global variable, ie: key avinmenu; if it wasnt a valid key, surely it would say "00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000" when converted to a string and llRegionSayTo ((key)avinmenu, 0, "Boo"); made no difference I wasn't questioning whether it was a valid key, but whether it was typecast correctly in the first place. Keys are funny things. They are a special type of string, so a lot of the time you can treat them as if they are regular strings. Other times, you have to explicitly typecast them as keys to get your script to believe them. If you had defined string My_key = "a822ff2b-ff02-461d-b45d-dcd10a2de0c2" you could have printed it out in chat with no problem, but llRegionSayTo would not have treated it as a key unless you typecast it as (key)My_Key first. It would have just failed silently. Still, since you DID typecast it properly, that's not the problem. Back to the drawing board.
  3. Really, Maddy? I can't log in right now to double check, but yesterday I had my Anti-aliasing set to 8X in Firestorm with no trouble. I think it goes higher even. Maybe it's a PC/Mac thing.
  4. You can't play more than one sound at a time in a single prim, but you can certainly put sound generators in two prims in the same object. If that's what you meant, you're done. If you meant that you want to play the sounds sequentially, you'll have to set up a timer and trigger them one after another, possibly with a gap in between them if they are not the same length. If you meant that you want to give users a choice of which sound file to play, you'll have to build a dialog menu and trigger the sounds with menu choices. In any of these cases except, possibly, the sequential case, you'll have to think about how to preload the sounds so that each visiting av hears them the first time they are triggered.
  5. Your neighbors can watch playtime events whether your blinds are up or down. After all, they have a cam, just like you do. The way to keep them from seeing you and your guests is to open About Land >>> Options and UNclick the box that says people outside of your parcel can see in. Once you do that, a person would actually have to be IN your parcel to watch your playtime activites. A cam from the outside would show nothing. They couldn't even see you through an open window. :smileywink: Meanwhile, to get your control panel fixed, contact Live Chat. You paid for that service, and they're good at fixing control panels.
  6. Be sure that avinmenu is actually a key rather than a string when you go to use it in llRegionSayTo. It's an easy mistake to make and it's hard to detect with the test you are using, since your llSay statement is explcitly saying (string)avinmenu. Try writing your llRegionSayTo statement as llRegionSayTo((key)avinmenu,0,"Say your message here"); and see what happens.
  8. Yes, indeed. Read any one of the many posts about Windows 8 in this Answers area and look for KarenMichelle Lane's advice. Like this one >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/i-installed-this-program-to-Windows-8-how-solve-the-problem/qaq-p/2232403
  9. Estate owners have all the tools to prevent these sorts of attacks and to clean up after them. Linden Lab has rarely intervened to do that sort of work. It's not their job. Submitting ARs will help to get the griefers suspended or banned, but not to clean up their mess.
  10. Nope. No way at all. Your username is permanent, just like your UUID. You have only two options: 1. Use a Display Name. A display name is like a nickname -- good for casual use among friends but not for ""official" things like logging in. Many SL residents use display names regularly. Many others routinely set their viewers to show only usernames, so you will still find plenty of people who call you alaucrd. Still, it's a handy feature. 2. Open a new account -- an alt. You may have up to 5 accounts at the same IP address. Aside from giving you another av with a different name, having an alt can be useful for those times when you want to be inworld without your friends knowing. An alt can also be handy if you need a co-owner for a group, or if you want someone to hold onto some of your cash or transferable inventory.
  11. I don't know how you have any way of knowing which viewer the person was using, much less whether it was "illegal." If you were attacked, you should have filed an Abuse Report immediately, having taken photographs and recorded the person's identification. When you file an Abuse Report, be sure to include as much factual information as you can, and resist using emotional language or speculation. If you can describe what you mean by "my sl ... doesn't work proper", maybe someone here can help you fix it. If not, you can at least download a fresh copy and do a clean installation. Here's how >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life/ta-p/1375231 If you want to provide extra information or need to clarify your question, click on the Options link in the upper right corner of your question and select EDIT. Please do not start a new thread. Doing that makes it hard for us to see what other people have already suggested, and it pushes other residents' questions off the page.

  13. Se isso ocorrer, a chance é bom que o cache inventário é corrupto. Excluí-lo deve resolver o problema. Localize a pasta cache.
  14. And you passed it to that function as a global variable or a function parameter?
  15. You don't, but whoever wrote the pathfinding script that you are using needs to debug the script. It's clearly not written cleanly. If you are the scripter and you are trying to figure out out to fix your own script, post your question in the LSL Scripting forum to get help from fellow scripters. Otherwise, contact the person who wrote it..
  16. Your local network may be blocking secure logins. It's also possible (but comparatively rare) that your secure login is failing due to an incorrect date/time on your computer. To verify, double-click the clock in the Windows taskbar (usually in the lower-right corner of the screen). On a Mac, check your Date & Time. Make sure it's not a year off! Most modern computers can set their time automatically, including daylight savings. Be sure a firewall or Internet security isn't blocking Second Life access. If you're on an office or university network, your network administrator may have secure logins disabled. In this case, you may not be able to use Second Life on that network connection. See Using Second Life with a firewall for more information.
  17. Issues with prepaid and gift cards A common cause of payment method failure is the use of unsupported card types. At this time, the majority of prepaid cards are not compatible with our system, even if they bear the VISA/AMEX/Mastercard logo. This includes cards purchased at retail stores, rechargeable credit cards, and bank-issued check cards.
  18. Go back into Appearance and then to Edit Shape >>> Body. Scroll down to the very last category, Hover, and play with the slider until your av is standing properly on the floor. That will only work, of course, if you have Mod perms for the shape you are wearing.
  19. If you have a non-technical issue related to billing concerns, you can call the Linden Lab billing team at the following toll-free numbers: US/Canada: 800-294-1067 France: 0805-101-490 Germany: 0800-664-5510 Japan: 0066-33-132-830 Portugal: 800-814-450 Spain: 800-300-560 UK: 0800-048-4646 Brazil: 0800-762-1132 Long distance ( not free, but you can use Skype to save some cost ) : 703-286-6277 **Note: Support is offered only in English
  20. The only rule is the rule that the sim owner makes, and the owner can make any rule s/he wants. (Now, if I were the sim owner, I would outlaw tummy talkers no matter where the sim was. But that's just me. :smileylol: )
  21. You can't get refunds from Linden Lab. (TOS, Sect. 4.4: Linden Lab does not accept returns or provide refunds of any amounts paid for products or services purchased from Linden Lab.) When you purchase a Premium membership, you prepay for the period of your membership. If you downgrade to Basic, the downgrade becomes effective on the date that your prepaid Premium membership expires. Until then, you are still a Premium member, entitled to the weekly stipend, the land fee waiver, access to Premium sandboxes, Live Chat, and all categories of support tickets.
  22. For future reference ........ The only person you can safely make a co-owner of your group is your alt. Your alt will never do the wrong thing. She's as smart as you are, and at least as reliable.
  23. Are you wearing the correct group tag? Are you sure that you are rezzzing inside your own parcel boundaries?
  24. Begin by being sure that your graphics card drivers are up to date. Follow these specific instructions regarding Windows 8, provided by our resident Win 8 expert, KarenMichelle Lane: 1) Manually apply ALL the Required and Important patches for Windows 8 from Microsoft. A new Win 8 PC needs 4-5 iterations of this to get them all. The easiest way to do this is to: a) Enter Desktop Mode b) Launch Internet Explorer c) Right-click on the options area of the Browser and turn on Menu & Status Bar [and any other of the old standards you like] d) Tools / Windows Update. e) Select the CUSTOM button so you can monitor and select the downloaded options to install f) Repeat until all are DL'd and installed Note: Don't install the Bing Desktop. Also, don;t install any Windows Live components unless you have an email account with Microsoft. 2) Identify the Video / Graphics system in your PC and get the Windows 8 drivers direct from the Video System manufacturer. http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/graphics 3) If you just performed the items 1) & 2) above, please reinstall SL again using the official version from Linden Lab. [be sure to do a clean install http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life... Here is the Windows 8 Manual System File cleanup procedure since it's not in the procedure above. Windows 8 1.Using File Explorer -> Libraries / Computer / ( C: ) / Users / 2.Press the Continue button to get permission to obtain permanent permission edit this directory. 3.From the View drop-down menu option select Options & Change Folder & Search Options 4.Select the View Tab 5.Under the Hidden Files and Folders options click on the - O Show hidden files, folders & Drives radio button 6.Push the Apply Button then the OK button. 7.Open C:\Users\\yourpcusername)\AppData\Local\SecondLife and delete the contents of the SecondLife folder. 8.Open C:\Users\(yourpcusername)\AppData\Roaming\SecondLi fe and delete the contents of the SecondLife folder. 9.Uninstall Second Life using the Programs and Features tool in the Windows Control Panel. 10.Download and install the latest release of the Second Life Viewer from http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/. 4) Be sure to wait for the complete friends list load and Inventory rebuild before storming off on your search for fun. 5) Afterwards, you may use any viewer you prefer but I recommend a clean install of that viewer as well following their instructions. P.S. I recommend these steps on all Windows 8 PC's and Laptops, specifically designed for Windows 8 with high-end Graphics Sub-Systems or Graphics Cards. P.S.S. - On Upgraded PC's & Laptops - If your computer was not designed specifically for Windows 7 or Windows 8 these steps may still help. There are many "Designed for Vista" PC's that don't upgrade well to Windows 8. If your PC was designed for Windows XP, Windows 8 is usually NOT a viable option, practically speaking.
  25. You are not the judge, or a district attorney, or a police officer. You are an aggrieved resident. You are reporting behavior that you suspect may violate the TOS. Do the best you can. Make your report clean, complete, and unemotional. Cite specific parts of the TOS that you feel are relevant. Let LL decide what to do with it.
