  1. No. In fact, that's a good way to lose no-copy items. Do a quick search of the archives of Answers and you'll see that we get posts from worried/outraged residents who have lost no-copy items during sim restarts fairly frequently. Now, if you are talking about owner-requested sim rollbacks, not normal sim restarts, please take special note of this warning from Linden Lab............. Warning: Deliberate use of rollbacks to obtain additional copies of no-copy content can be considered abuse and is dealt with accordingly.
  2. Look at the answer immediately above your post in this OLD thread.
  3. OK, no panic (yet). If you haven't been following Linden Lab's careful instructions for updatung graphic cards drivers, give them a try >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Graphics-cards/ta-p/700073#Section_.1.5
  4. I'm not quite clear about what you are doing, but since you are working with an attached object, llGetPos and llGetRot will return the position and rotation of the avatar, not the worn object. If you haven't calculated your rez offsets relative to those values, then your new object may seem to be rezzing in the wrong place. I don't understand how the animation figures into this, but that's probably a failure on my part.
  5. In that case, your best bet it to post in the InWorld Employment forum to hire a scripter to write you a custom script. You might find something in a script library somewhere that would come close, but you'll still need a scripter to adapt it to your specific needs, which are custom. You can either search in-world script libraries or do a Google search for LSL scripts that meet your general needs, or you can post in the Wanted forum to see who might have one.
  6. When you write your script, basically all you need to do (other than providing the triggering command) is run a timer event that triggers your sound clips one after another. Avatars do not generally hear a sound the first time it is played, so the typical trick is to use that timer event to trigger llPreloadSound for the next clip while it is using llPlaySound to handle the current one. If the UUIDs for each of your sound clips are in a list in your script, you can loop back to the first clip when your timer has finished playing the last one.
  7. There are several possibilities, mostly related to a weak or intermittent Internet connection. The easiest thing to try first is simply to reboot your router, Unplug it from the power for a few minutes to give it a chance to clear its RAM and get a new grasp on an IP address. With luck, that should be enough. If not, you could have a DNS problem. That, too, is easy to address. Try flushing your DNS cache; how to do that is explained here for Windows, Linux, and older Mac operating systems. For newer Mac operating systems (Lion and Mountain Lion), see here. if this doesn't help, then try setting your DNS to Google: Google Public DNS If using Google as a DNS not work for you then see here for alternate servers, or grab DNS Bench to help you locate one. That may be true especially if you are outside of North America. There are other possibilities too, but try those first. If neither one works, come back here and click on the Options link in the upper right corner of your question and select EDIT to add more information, or click on the Permalink under any respondent's post. Please do not start a new thread. Doing that makes it hard for us to see what other people have already suggested, and it pushes other residents' questions off the page.
  8. I see a version of that same message occasionally. It helps to try again later. I suspect that the Marketplace servers get overloaded at busy times and simply can't handle some of the traffic. I suspect also that some people have this problem if they have weak or flaky Internet connections, such as you might have if you were using wireless -- generally a bad idea in SL anyway.
  9. Process-credit requests can take three (3) to five (5) business days (Monday-Friday, not including U.S. holidays) to be completed and sent to your PayPal account. For requests made for bank wires, processing time is 15 business days. International wire transfers may take longer. We strive for quick turnaround; however, holidays and the volume of transactions can affect processing times. Improvements to the system are intended to reduce the processing time for most requests by the end of 2013.
  10. It has nothing to do with Firestorm. That's the sim's server telling you that it can't let you rez whatever it is. It's probably not a matter of permissions to rez, because that would produce a warning that says you aren't allowed to rez there. It's more likely that the asset servers are having trouble accessing your own inventory. Sometimes you can get their attention by teleporting out of the sim and back, or by relogging. Getting off wireless would make a big difference, because it's basically a communication issue between your viewer and the SL servers. If you really can't solve the problem with any of those steps, try rebuilding your inventory cache manually. Here's how >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_cache_clear
  11. As far as I know, 5 is the maximum. If you really need to wear more than that, see if the creator will be willing to make some available as undershirt layer textures, as appropriate.
  12. Not offhand, but you have piqued my curiosity. Why would you want to wear an object consisting of 32 needles, each as long as the width of a sim? Where could you wear it without alarming the natives?
  13. Duplicate post. Original is at http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Linden-Dollars-L/I-want-to-work-as-a-host/qaq-p/2244385 Please do not start identical threads. Doing that makes it hard for us to see what other people have already suggested, and it pushes other residents' questions off the page.
  14. Look in the InWorld Employment forum, or post this request there.
  15. Log in on the web? You mean here? If that's what you mean then yes, your username and password are OK. So, what happens when you try to log in to SL? Does the viewer refuse to accept your name and password, or is login failing in some other way? If the problem is name and password, you can try calling the Linden Lab billing office to be sure that your account really is available. You should probably also submit a support ticket under the heading "Account Issues". If you have a non-technical issue related to billing concerns, you can call the Linden Lab billing team at the following toll-free numbers 24/7: US/Canada: 800-294-1067 France: 0805-101-490 Germany: 0800-664-5510 Japan: 0066-33-132-830 Portugal: 800-814-450 Spain: 800-300-560 UK: 0800-048-4646 Brazil: 0800-762-1132 Long distance ( not free, but you can use Skype to save some cost ) : 703-286-6277 **Note: Support is offered only in English
  18. When you select the tattoo in your inventory, right click and choose "ADD" instead of "WEAR". Don;t try to wear more than 5 tattoos, though. That will fail miserably, or so I am told.
  19. אני לא מבין את כל חלק של השאלה שלך. עם זאת, כדאי לדעת כי XStreetSL לא קיימת. הוא הוחלף על ידי שוק לפני כמעט שנתיים.
  20. The inside of a hollowed cube is a single face. If you change its texture, all walls are changed. The only way to do what you want is to cut one side off the hollowed box and substitute a flattened cube prim for the missing side. Then you can change the texture on the inside face of that prim as much as you like.
  21. That's a very hard question to answer because it depends on too many variables. First of all, is it even possible to link all the prims together, or are they too far apart to be linkable in a single linkset? Then how many of those prims are scripted, and how many of those depend on NOT being linked? Some doors must not be linked to anything else. Others must be linked to each other but not to the house. Same with windows, curtains, lights, security systems, and many other things. Then, what kind of prims are in the house? When you turn a basic prim (a cube, cylinder, sphere... ) from Physicis Shape Type prim to convex hull, its L.I. drops by 50%. If you do the same thing to a torus or to a sculpty, the land impact can explode by several hundred times. The immediate result would be that you'd be over your prim allowance and the servers would return the excess to your Lost & Found. So, even if you linked the parts of your house, turning them convex hull might be a bad idea. The bottom line is that you are on the safest ground if you built the house and scripted all of its parts yourself, as I have. Even then it's easy to forget why you left some things unlinked in the first place. If you weren't the original builder/scripter, you at least need to be able to assess all the risks. If you don't feel up to the task, don't do it. On the other hand ...... if you have a backup copy in inventory so you can recover from a disaster .... :smileywink::smileytongue:
  22. No, there isn't. Even if there were, it would only be of academic interest. You cannot pick the specific Linden Home or even the neighborhood you might like to rent. They are assigned at random. You can imagine all sorts of reasons why LL decided to do it that way, and you can argue with them. That's the way it's done, though. If you want to choose a specific neighborhood to live in, you can always use your Premium land fee waiver to pay the monthly fees on a 512 sq m parcel of your own choosing on the Mainland. Many people do.
  23. Did he pay you directly or through a scripted vendor in your shop, or maybe through your Marketplace store? No matter how he claimed to pay you, you can check your Transaction History at secondlife.com >> Accounts to see whether you actually got the money. Those records only look back 30 days, so an older transaction won't be there but you should be able to find anything recent. He should be able to do the same thing by looking at his Transaction History. Compare notes. If he bought through Marketplace, you can each look in your Marketplace Order History too, to do the same thing. Marketplace does occasionally screw up and fail to deliver. If you are satisfied that that's what happened, or if you simply want to give him the benefit of the doubt, just redeliver. If a vendor in your in-world shop screwed up, be sure to check it out fully to be sure that it hasn't stalled or been tampered with.
