  1. Well, bit early in the year for the Golden Flounce awards, but good to see the standard being set high early on =^^=
  2. As the wiki entries are already headed up by Function: (return type if any) (Name of function) (input) - and sorry for clumsy notation - the change seems not to break any usefulness and makes sense, especially with the example given, ie we already know the type being returned and its clearer now exactly what it represents. Works for me. BTW Strife thanks for the ongoing sterling work =^^=
  3. Well, context is everything =^^= If I'm in a club then yes open to respond to even a fly by hi, thats what the place is for. Out shopping? Well, usually pretty much focussed on what I am looking for, especially with a partner. If its staff, then yes, even to say 'no we are fine thankyou', anyone else - I check profiles first before initiating or responding, so that has quite a bearing, although I also default to a smiley - fits most purposes. The RL analogy is fun too - round here, a stranger on the street saying hi has my reaching for my purse to check I remembered my little equaliser =^^=
  4. Hardly a shill here but hey thanks for the backhanded compliment kitten =^^= My reaction was based on the OPs habit of repeatedly posting a variation of their litany of rants whenever there is a server roll but never responding to following posters questions curious as to why they can not duplicate the same problems. We all agree all is not perfection on the grid but endless repeats do tend to grind somewhat on the nerves. And as no language could be said to be my 'first' I would be the last to cast greenhouses. Mik
  5. I believe the respondant is referring to the other video you posted in the forums Here which is along the same theme. mik
  6. Just checked my email and....Shopkeeper Linden sent me a rez day cake. Surprised? Yes I was! Its a lovely gesture and thanks to whoever came up with it. Mik =^^=
  7. If you are sure they are running then you may have set your maximum particles to zero, or a very low number. Depending on your viewer, check the graphics in preferences and try increasing it. I believe 8192 is the top.
  8. Had to be other for me, also due to lack of coffee and a morning cigarette
  9. Regular reader of that blog and well aware of the available figures The flippancy of my initial response rather masked my reaction to the other complaints made in the OPs post, many of which have been "aired" here before at regular intervals. A litany, in fact, with no follow up or actual concrete examples. Mik
  10. At any given time (and Second Life runs globally) there must be dozens if not more classes being run for all kinds of subjects. And I do mean all =^^= Your best bet is to actually to go in and explore. For your particular question, try doing a search on, say, meditation and visit the places it turns up. Mik
  11. No idea but personally..when was the last Ice Age? Probably around then =^^=
  12. Agreed, and apologies for my flippant post..I was somewhat irked. Specifics would be appreciated. Mik
  13. as of now, reports 'inworld_updated_unix 1342222202 inworld_updated_slt 2012-07-13 16:30:02 inworld 55835' as has been more or less for a time. just sayin.....
  14. sigh and me having rushed back to Magnum to test the LI scripted linkset accounting (which seemed to work great) =^^= ah well
  15. Well, to answer your last point first, FB terms ('rights and resp') section 4 starts with 'Facebook users provide their real names and information..'. So, no avatars. As to why some are nuked and not others, from some blogs I have seen there are those out there who have a passion for naming SL avatars as being false. Not sure how it works as I wiped my account years ago but expect there is some reporting process. Wouldn't surprise me. So in short - because they can?
  16. No not at all =^^= Although some groups may have a joining fee
  17. You may find the answer Here in the Machinima part of the forums.
  18. Agreed, we pay over the market rate for our grandfathered HS because we have a great relationship going back a few years with our landlord, but biz is biz too.
  19. I had a quick run over there to check it out ( hey I visit lots of grids =^^= ) and theres been the usual díscussion over at SLU for a week or so. Its very early and its got the instant FB masses to call on (although yet to see much noise about it there in general) so first impression is - interesting, some nice tech, lots missing, worth keeping an eye on and I'll have a more indepth look when its closer to almost-nearly-primetime. SL killer? Yet to see even a pricing structure, which even the smallest start up OpenSim wannabe comes with, so no idea. Probably not - yet. Ask me when the VCapital starts to run out. mik edit as my spellink is as bad as ever
  20. Torvalds response good enough for me to decide which bit of hardware I will not be getting next then =^^=
  21. Thanks for the quick response - good to see
  22. Actually, there are different touch positions you can register on a prim face. Take a look at the Detected Touch functions in the Wiki, like the one Here
