  1. Awww. I just wish he turned out to be someone who really, really loves SL, and had a clear understanding of all parts of it, including what the residents mean to the company. A better experience for all would be the result, if that were to be the case. I don't know if that's ever been the case.
  2. LOL that's what I liked about it, it's dull. :matte-motes-big-grin:
  3. Very seriously. It's important to me. I would miss it terribly if it went away.
  4. LOL! That really hit my funny bone. So true! :matte-motes-agape:
  5. *Duly*. IJS....... Thanks for the post, Lillybeth, interesting and timely info.
  6. Hi Dillon, Yeah, I'm sure you're right, a run of bad luck. I've been facilitating those disabled artist openings for a long time, and it only happened 3 times, but it was 3 times in a row, now I'm a'skeert, lol. I'm sure I'll try again, cause, hosting a dance to parcel or juke box music is really, really just not that fun. The people who attended were really nice, every time, but it was still embarrassing as hell, especially after advertising, Ugh. Yes, the Parkinson sim, dedicated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, is a great place, very beautiful, and active, they are always doing something fun, like Virtual Ability.. All the disability communities in SL more or less know one another, and I had just recently spoken with Barbi, the daughter, I was at a RL disability conference, and our Gentle Heron was on a panel with the Parkinson group's Dr Donna Davis (Tredi Fellisimo); it was streamed into SL, but I was in IM with Barbi while it was going on, and they showed that same video. Dr. Tom Boelstorff was also on that panel, it was a very informative session. The aren't calling SL a cure, of course, just a definite easement. I asked Barbi to come into the Forum here, and address the post.
  7. My last 3 events, yep, *3*, I have had 3 different DJ's be no-shows. It's very upsetting, yeah I know it's *only* SL, but hey, I have these grand openings, for new exhibits of the work of disabled artists, and plan way in advance, and hire the DJ, and even confirm the day before......only to have 'something came up in RL' and they are a no-show. The last time, the no-show DJ didnt' even contact me, not even afterward, no apology, no nothing, and since I didn't have anything nice to say, I didn't contact him either, although he regularly includes me in 'group' invitations to wherever he's DJ'ing, which I promptly delete. At any rate, I'm now quite DJ-shy. I know RL happens, and it's more important than SL, it comes first...... but to be on the safe side, although I hate juke boxes and parcel music, well....... at least those don't have a RL. Sorry for the rant on your thread, Yummy, I'm just anti-DJ right now; and welcome back to SL, I remember you.
  8. (((Jumpy))) my old friend from back in the day, Resident Answers. It's really good to 'see' you here. Try and behave, so you can stay around awhile. No shenanigans! :matte-motes-big-grin:
  9. Thanks Barbi; I could have expounded here but it's yours and your mom's story, and I felt you should tell it. Dr. Donna, and Tom Boelstorff, and Gentle Heron (of Virtual Ability) were on a panel recently, at a disability conference in Denver where the Fran Effect was discussed at length. It was streamed into SL, onto Virtual Ability Island; I was there in RL, but was also inworld, talking to Barbi in IM, it was a very exciting time for us all! I'm glad someone asked about it, even though that's an old blog, it's still an exciting and ongoing concept.
  10. I'll forward this thread to Fran, and to her daughter, who is often in SL with her. Perhaps they'll come in and respond themselves.
  11. Oh, good, well as I said, I may have misunderstood the notice, glad to hear it. About something else you said, later in this thread: I'm sorry it appears that one wants to be in the group but not work in it. Sometimes, one must choose. My SL is pretty full what with Virtual Ability; work full time in RL. I saw you mentioned that you will be inworld most of the day today, for example. I can never, ever do that as much as I'd like to. So while I am sorry if you're left speechless, I do, as I'm sure others do, have to choose levels. Yes, this is an important 'battle' or issue, and I am truly sorry that I can't commit more to it. But thanks for clarification that I won't be remved from the group.
  12. Hello; @ Trinity; I've been wondering if it would come to this, and seems it has. I get (as I assume everyone in the group does) a crazy amount of group notices, daily. I know how to turn off notices, but didn't want to miss something important, so I haven't. Today I got one that appeared, if I read it right, to say that I'll be removed from the group if I don't join a guild. I don't intend to join a guild. I don't intend to join on Google+, or anywhere else. I'd like to keep up with whatever the group is doing, but I don't have the RL time to give to this, that appears to be required especially since I am not a content creator but an interested party only. I'm on the board of Virtual Ability, and would love to stay abreast, but I can't devote the time that seems to be required. So if I read the notice correctly, and that means I will be removed from the group, go ahead and remove me. I wish the group well and my interest in the issue remains. I'm at a disability conference in Denver right now, and that's where my available time is directed. Do take care, cheers and best wishes.
  13. Perfect, Gamerdave, these are exactly the kinds of things I'm looking for. Does your inworld store still exist? If not, I'll purchase from MP. Thanks so much for responding!
  14. Hi, where can I find autumn and/or Fall sim decor, that isn't Halloween related? I've done 'general' type searching but haven't found much. Thanks. (Not garden related, but like, Banners for example.)
  15. You can see the TOS now. She fixed it, as referenced in last few posts......
  16. Thank you Amore, I do see that it's fixed and can now read the TOS without joining. Thanks so much, that was very fast!
  17. Hi Amore; Thanks for posting to the thread. I do have just one question if you don't mind? As you mentioned, the TOS for SL and also for IW, is available for anyone to read, no log in or membership necessary. I am wondering why the TOS for the InBiz group is not? Have to join the group to see the TOS.......how do you know if you want to join the group, without seeing the TOS first? Thanks for the rest of your information, very informative.
  18. For some reason, that doesn't set my mind at ease. LOL. I think I'll just choose not to use it. Thanks for the info, though.
  19. You can read the Inworldz TOS on their website, without signing up. I just tried it, without logging in. It's right there. Not sure where you were trying to read it from?
  20. I wonder then why the admin told me that it was against TOS, when I asked there on the IW forum ETA: Ok, I read it again. He said that changing Izzies to Lindens is against TOS. And that if Lindens are being changed to Izzies, that IW isn't involved, it would have to be a 3rd party. And that there are no IW sponsored ATMs or transaction mechanisms. Wording is pretty subtle but now I can see more clearly what Zia is saying.
