  1. I agree about not getting too concerned about freebies...except that my income earners are down too. Plus the freebie is good advertising - I plotted a sharp and consistent rise in conversion to paid sales after introducing a particular gift item. Well, anyway, it seems like the JIRA's now resolved. Probably it's just that my sales are taking their turn at a hiatus this week.
  2. Thanks Darrius...I should have thought to search for a JIRA. Nice to know it's not just me. Here's hoping it's not impacting on sales...
  3. Hi all...Has anyone else been having issues searching the marketplace when they're not signed in? I'd been starting to notice a really sharp lack of sales in the last week (especially of the freebies that normally move well). I started investigating a bit and noticed that when not sign in I keep getting an error message after a page or so of navigating. I don't know if this is the cause of the slow sales this week, but I was curious whether anyone else had experienced it.
  4. Ah...you're right. Mine was a mixed cart order. I never ceased to be amazed my this marketplace.
  5. A few weeks ago I thought this happened to me...then the email arrived a full week after the transaction had gone through...
  6. Ohh...thanks Arwen. That explains why I've suddenly noticed a few aborted from earlier in the year. I thought I must have just been missing them until I had the sudden spike on the 13th. So "Aborted" basically means that long-queued deliveries have been finally taken out of some queue?
  7. Curious...so not just me then. Even more curious...the 13th was Mother's Day here in Australia. After the Valentine's Day (don't mention the war) fiasco, I'm starting to doubt all big celebration days :matte-motes-silly: On a slightly more serious note, though...do the Lab rats work on a Sunday? What would they have done to the Marketplace to cause such a spike of aborted deliveries?
  8. Hi all - I'm trying to keep up with all that's going on in the marketplace, but I don't know if this has come up before. I've moved pretty much everything to DD, so this applies to to DD transactions. I checked my transaction history today, and on May 13th I had five aborted transactions. Going back through my order history I've not had more than one or two a month that are listed as aborted, and many months (especially last year) with no aborted transactions. I looked up on the knowledge base, and couldn't find anything out about aborted transactions. What's going on?
  9. Yup...I can't get in either...thought it was just me... *sigh*
  10. I had to do this the other day. It took a little while for the new folder to appear when I searched for it when relisting - probably no more than 15 mins. Not sure why, because the folder appeared under my unassociated products right away. I had given the folder a slightly different name from the previous version. I wonder - is there an issue if you give your new folder the exact same name?
  11. Yup...looks like it's been this way for a while...watch these... https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-3140 .... https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4506 .... https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-3883 ... There's another thread about it here: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Merchants/SL-Marketplace-is-not-resetting-to-show-popularity-based-on/td-p/1466211 ETA - sorry...just can't get text to format properly on my iPad...grrr....
  12. I was just thinking the same thing - came here to see whether it had been brought up in the big tangled mess of threads raised since DD arrived. I guess it's only a minor thing for the commerce team to fix, but I've been making sales on my new items and I'd like to see them off the bottom of my list & displayed more prominently.
  13. Which viewer are you using...can you see mesh products? I never got myself that premium boat, but I thought I'd read that it's mesh. It's possible that the box you're seeing is the boat, and you just can't see it properly...
  14. I've only noticed a few borked deliveries coming up...but it's the same thing: Delivery partially falied on the Transaction History, but the details show it's been delivered. Fortunately for me I've only changed my freebies and demos to DD, so I'm not losing L$ yet...but I'm not changing anything else over til I'm assured this has been fixed. As a merchant who's been lucky enough to have few issues with the magic boxes (and being in Australia has meant that the Marketplace has not been so slow at the times when I'm on), I'm only now starting to get a queasy feeling about changing over. Good thing I had a few good weeks of sales before this changeover, or I'd be struggling to cover my tier right now. Don't think I'm going to be cashing out for a while... (Edited for my crummy typing)
  15. I've got two weeks break coming up, and I was hoping the site would be fixed by now so I could get some serious work done on my shop *sigh* I've migrated most of my freebies, demos and cheap stuff over already. Because I do clothes, I moved most to folders. I found that if I unpacked my boxes, popped a back-up box and rezing instructions in the folder and dropped a few folders in the outbox, by that time my marketplace page would have finally loaded. I'd check my listings, make any changes etc, and whenever I had to wait for the site again, I'd just go back to unpacking more boxes inworld. By swapping between the two I managed about 15 listings in the bit of free time I had on the weekend. Still over 100 to go.... I am going to stick with the folders, though. I aim a lot of my stuff towards the newbie market, so folders help them, and adding instructions on how to Rez the back-up box will help train them (and help them solve their inevitable stuff-ups when they try to adjust clothing for the first time. SL has a steep learning curve, and every little bit helps. #ETA - Aaaaargh! Why can't I get my post to format properly! Sorry...you get it all in one block #
  16. Lol...happened to me once too (I got Japanese, which was fun to negotiate through!)...I managed to find language at the bar at the bottom of the page - to the left of the terms of service and privacy links. After tapping on language, English was the first option in the list.
  17. My guess would be that the fault is at the join between prims. Especially if it's happening at a sim crossing - things can get pretty borked around there.
  18. Did you once have it listed for $99? Last time this sort of thing happened to me it was an old entry in someone's cart. For three months or so it was sitting in their cart and finally when they decided to pay for the items in their cart they got it for the price that was advertised when they put it in their cart. Even still I have people purchasing products I unlisted ages ago...just because it's been sitting in their cart.
  19. Could it be the eyelashes causing the issues? Even the alpha channel in the system lashes can cause annoying issues with hair. You could try making the lashes shorter if that's the case.
  20. Sometimes I've noticed a full day or two between the sales notification date on the marketplace & it appearing on my transaction history. The few times that I've discovered that happening has got me to thinking that I should be comparing sales and payments more often than I have been. I can't say that the payment's never eventually come through...but then maybe I've just never noticed the odd missing payment...
  21. And don't worry about us skin & clothes makers...we'd jump at the chance to work with something better than what we have now
  22. What I reeeeeally want to know is how numbers 2, 3 & 4 on my BEST SELLING list are items that I've NEVER SOLD and are rarely viewed!! (Items that I was planning to review and possibly remove.) Until reading this forum I'd never sorted by best selling, since I thought I knew from my sales (and the slightly useful best selling report) what items were selling well. Actually, except for the very first listing (which is a promotional dollarbie) most of the top items in the "sorty by best selling" are old or never sold items! To my eyes, "relevance" seems closer to a combination of recently sold and recently viewed...and a lot more like best selling than "best selling" (though I can't unfortunately say correspondigly that "best selling" seems to be "relevant"!) *thinks I need a headache tablet*
  23. I'm not ready to go out in mesh clothing for all of those reasons already mentioned. But I'm hoping it won't be too long before the worst of the bugs in the new viewers are ironed out and mesh viewers become more popular. As a dress designer I'm working on mesh designs alongside my more traditional clothing - I think there will be a good market for both the traditional prim & sculptie clothing as well as newer mesh types. For now I'm just testing what I can and can't make work in mesh, but it will be a little while before I release any mesh clothing for sale. Personally, I don't want to release ANY mesh clothing for sale until I can rig the mesh to fit people's shapes, not just their bones.
  24. Thank you Suella - I now feel that I can write my comments with my pixel head held high :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:
