A customer bought my geisha makeup and asked for more options, so I'm turning Japanese again...and struggling to make Omega appliers do what I want. The sooner "bakes on mesh" gets rolled out, the better

The school teacher in me is itching to tell you to, "Wipe that makeup off this instant, young lady!" The Peony side of me just wants to say, "Cute av!"

I'll stop posting my various Argrace hairstyles soon, I guess...but I'm having such fun with them! These two inspired a rare boudoir shoot.

Not all of us! Years ago I took that crumpled mass of system hair that we normally sink inside our hairbase and applied a freebie brain texture to it. With a bit of careful modelling it looked quite convincing - no air between Peony's ears if anyone cammed inside her head! ?

What are you doing today!? :D

I'd forgotten how much fun swimming in SL could be. Just discovering random shipwrecks and plane wrecks and little shoals of life in odd spots. I also forgot how funny it looks when your camera is underwater while your av is treading water -
Get into Argrace in the next day or two - it's one of the ones I picked up in the L$100 sale - I can't remember it's name, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. I think it was in the "arrangement" section. It's one of the two with headscarves, and yes, it has a texture HUD with 6 or 7 options.

Do you have advanced lighting enabled?
Peony Sweetwater replied to Rya Nitely's topic in General Discussion Forum
I keep it on pretty much all the time - I like the extra depth and lustre it gives things. Probably the only time I turn it off is when I'm testing my products for how they'll look under different settings. Shadows however I do often turn off until I want them for photos - I like shadows, but it comes with a fair performance hit, and my sluggish internet already slows things down enough. Depth of field is only for some photos. What can I say...I like shiny things -

Love, love, LOVE! the rainbow lorikeets! Where can I find them?

Spring has sprung! At least it has on my side of the world ? Plus, Argrace is having a sale on their hairstyles ? One thing I do love about the ol' flexi prim skirts...you get a real sense of movement

Discovering that my avatar is a better pianist than I am... I'm comforted my the fact that I've never found a violin in SL that makes her better than me. ? -

Show Off Your Best Prim Builds!!!
Peony Sweetwater replied to ChinRey's topic in Building and Texturing Forum
Not sure if this retaining wall is my best, but it's my most recent prim build. My store in Bay City is on the edge...literally! And in Bay City that means the surface of my land floats several metres above the water with a void under it. For a while I'd filled it in with a curved chunk of a cylinder with a grass texture on it, but I think this retaining wall looks better. I might remake it in mesh one day...when I can be bothered. And yes, my store is still predominantly prim - a heavily modified version of an old Four Winds build. Mesh builds these days can't be modified like the old prim versions could...and none of the prefabs work for me as they are. -
Tram had a couple that I'd used with some of my vintage looks - https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Minnaloushe/247/30/36

Kookaburra! I'd forgotten he was sitting out here, especially since I usually have my sound turned way down, so I don't hear him laughing away. I don't have an old gum tree for him to sit in, either, so he's had to live on my shop's balcony. Oh, and I'm giving my LeLutka Simone an outing for a while...Maia was just too young for too long. Wonder when Peony will start growing wrinkles again...

Any chance you've "locked" the items? There's a tick box under one of the tabs of the edit window. The only other thing I can think is bad lag - I have fairly slow internet speeds, and editing textures can get frustrating.

Hmmm...When is it too late to pack up the Christmas stuff? Can I just pretend I'm really organised for December? -

Been playing with making makeup for the Akeruka Maia head. Having fun trying to see how small and low-lag I can make my textures and still take detailed photos. Most textures are either 512 or 256. -

Just to add for the system makeup tattoo layers: look for the sign below. Most of us who still include system layers will include that symbol on the ad board (along with the mesh head logos). I'm pretty sure I'm not the only creator out there who gets requests from the very new and the traditionalists who still use their system heads, and depending on the makeup it's often only a little bit of extra work to supply both appliers and system layers. Hopefully the Bakes on Mesh project will help with this too..

This weekend I discovered the big bonus with the Akeruka Deluxe heads' HD layer for makeup...I can use smaller textures and still have all the detail in my makeup. No more 1024 textures for each and every layer of makeup. Yay for less lag!

If you're using a default avatar, check that you're not still wearing the alpha layer that came with the sweater. If you're using a mesh avatar, check the alpha cuts on the hud.
