  1. Try in your Jass folder...mine is under Local Disk C/Program Files (x86)/Jass-2.3-pub. It's a tga.
  2. Those silver ones are gorgeous....hurrah I have a new shoe shop to visit today! (leaping about in the air and almost breaking an ankle in my Similar Footwear boots)
  3. Harlee....I suggest you log into your SL account asap, using the official link, not the one provided in the email, and reset your password. Then keep a very close eye on any credit cards associated with your account. The people here are right, and I bet you never were taken to the official site, only the phishing site which would look identical.
  4. I really like to see a live model in a store, as long as it's a registered bot. It's a very fair way to see products in the flesh. With so many clothing vendors showing front and back views only, it's useful to inspect the side seams, and see how the attachments really appear. Fashion shots are very glamourous, and good for creating a feel, but I want to see what the product looks like inworld. I hope none of them mind me coming in and poking and clicking at them, feeling the quality of the fabrics, and making personal comments about them. leyna, I used to sometimes hunt hidden traffic bots for fun a long time ago, and walking into a skybox full of zombified newbs all vacant-eyed was really really creepy. Imagine the sound of 40 people all slowly breathing and staring at you...with their dead fish eyes..../me shivers
  5. It's ok..it's just that this is "general discussion". And so the people here will like to discuss anything posted here. A good thing, in my book.
  6. So much variety! I posted these in another boot thread here..can I do it again? They are my very very favourites
  7. It sounds like you are beginning to learn, though, and that's excellent. Definately attend any of the free building classes around, as you will find that even very general building skills will come in handy down the track. Also, pull apart any free full-perms stuff you can, just to see how others have done it. I assume you have a hat now, and it attaches to your head? There are a few attachment points you can use (skull, mouth, nose, etc), depending on whether you want the hat to sit on top of your hair, or replace it. Play about with prims, and make other simple shapes to add. When you have them in place and want to link them, be careful to select all, then deselect and then reselect the hat itself. This will mean that the original parent prim will not change, and the hat will still fit as you intended when you wear it. Good luck, and have fun!
  8. That's actually quite subtle and nice. Might be hard to make a version that moves well in SL though. I always assume we are talking about fake furs, of course. Or meeroo fur.
  9. I'm nodding at everyone's responses here...there's a technical proficiency with quality..ie....matching seams, believable shadowing, nice edges, well fitting prims, prim parts that move well with the avatar and don't go all gawky when you walk or sit, efficient scripting, control over alpha issues (I hate skirts that disappear against certain floors, or skirt prims that fight manicly against each other as the avatar turns). And to me, quality means that certain things should be included, like all layers, copy and mod perms, v1/v2 compatibility. But the bestest thing about quality is creative flair, and it's what I love the most about a well designed thing. It's not just some t-shirt pulled out of a full-perms pack and turned a bit pink in photoshop. It's the thought process inside the designers head that makes them imagine something beautiful and unique, and then make it happen. It gives me joy. I think this is relevant to more than just fashion, too
  10. I was taught that there is no such concept as race. It was just a convenient classification system made up by a group who found such a thing to be convenient for them, much like phrenologists liked to make meaningful distinctions between people with bumpy/smooth foreheads. The survey asked pretty insightful questions though, and never once tried to pin anyone down as being a socialsexual weirdo in any way (hurrrah!), but I had to delete my response as I'm simply not multiracial enough. (edited to add that it's too far back to discover if any of my rellies had ever had a fling with a neanderthal..but I hear that it did happen often )
  11. Then why seek attention for that thing you didn't do?
  12. Hmm....I thought we'd have heard something from the OP re what this is all about. Not sure what all of that was in aid of, unless you guys are right and it was sneaky spammage. Not fair to come in, flounce about as if are repressed victim, then poof leaving us with nothing to go on with.
  13. Ah thanks, Six- (runs off to read......oooh weirdly interesting.......ok I have to read this a few times to get it, when I don't have people poking me for food....I'm sure by the time I come back here tomorrow there'll be more posts explaining everything.....runs off to kitchen...)
  14. I had a moment free, and found it...what a fun idea
  15. I agree, Linda. It's the same thing re all those anti-social profile announcements, and the nastiness found in some styles of blog, and the general attitude of some. It's not just SL, I'm sure. We see it in a lot of telly shows now, where the aim is to belittle people for amusement. But orbs have their uses, and when you have a rude person lobbing up uninvited to an obviously private place, 10 seconds can seem too long. I have one with a personalisable message, so it will say something nice to you, and apologise profusely as it zaps your sorry bum back home.
  16. Wasn't really trying to correct you, but I guess 'skills' can mean levels for keeping score. Many of us don't need them, and many of us do play a few games within SL and find the scorekeeping adds to the fun-ness of competition.
  17. I hadn't considered that, Void...'avatar tweaking time' is really 'product development time' to a shape/avatar creator. But I don't get the feeling that the OP's question was considering this either.
  18. Funny how all these "academic studies" all ask the same brainless questions as regards time spent/money spent (never earned)/how we feel we compare to our avatar. What on earth does how much I tweak my avatar (or not) have to do with any copyright law! These questions are more suggestive than anything, and have little to do with the subject the "student" claims to be researching. I've seen these same copypasted questions in gazillions of half-baked surveys about SL. They keep turning up under different guises.
  19. I never do, as I like the freedom to change without having to make new textures. Also, the price is really obvious to customers when they are buying from a prim set for sale, so there's not much point.
  20. Sounds like this new land setting could be a popular feature for landlords to include as part of their service. Camming is a tool that should be enjoyed by all builders, shoppers, explorers and people-watchers. It's like any feature in SL- the more you learn about the tools available the more you will enjoy your SL. Yes, it can possibly be abused, and I see camming someone changing in their skybox to be a huge breach of sletiquette. (Not everyone agrees, and it's always been hotly debated as to whether we should have an expectation of privacy.) Maya, you will grow to appreciate it more one day perhaps when you are out enjoying some scenery and trying to take a perfect photograph, and it will suddenly click with you why we all love camming. It's not just for the pervs.
  21. As a customer, I click them away while cursing under my breath, and never remember what they say. I also spend a minute at the landing point, looking about while rezzing. It takes me a while to know if I need a landmark, and so I'll make my own before leaving, or join any subscribers. As a merchant, I have a clear welcome area, with a friendly-looking piccy of me, holding a clickable sign. So if anybody needs anything (landmark, group membership, link to blog, information notecard, link to Marketplace) they can get it easily. It's up to the customer to opt in; I just make it available.
