  1. Mhmm..the blue ones are fine. It's the pinkness of the first set that is a bit Jame Gumb. You know- "It rubs the lotion on it's skin......"
  2. I just convert from $L to $US on the LL site, pay a fee, then send $US to paypal, and pay a fee. Then they get turned into a smaller amount of $AU when they finally get into my bank account. I probably also pay a fee then, too.
  3. I've been to Sims that never close down. From New York, to Rio, to Old London Town. But no matter how far, or how wide I rooooooaaaaam, I still call Jeojeot hooooooooooooooooooome! I'm always travelling, I love being free...etc....
  4. They are waaaay too far up the Uncanny Valley without a paddle for my liking.
  5. Ahh great!..I was just going to say "piccies, please" Your tool does what I thought it might- scans and gives you a sculpt map of the terrain..and like Marianne said, thats a flat texturable surface, not a fluffy grassy one that you can walk through. I can see though that it might be handy for those of us on Mainland who can't edit our terrain textures, and could give us a nice option to throw our own terrian textures onto. I'm not a huge fan of the grey-ish grass I'm stuck with. I have a feeling that Sculpt Studio might have this option too, so I'll go look into it. Your post has given me ideas. (runs off to get all busy )
  6. Here's Organica and Kidd.....It's surprisingly low prim for how lush it is.....edited to say the basic green and small white flowers are kidd...the dry wheat and larger white daisies are organica, some dandelions are kidd, and some are fluffy green meadows. Kidd and Fluffy emit little grasshopper/dandelion seeds.
  7. And 40's!!! I'm proudly one of them, and there's loads of us doing good stuffs. Ai Velde wrote: a majority of SL's market-based economy is driven by women, probably many in their 20's and 30's. :matte-motes-smug: Actually, don't forget the 50's, now I come to think of many of my favourite women. But they just may be misrepresenting and really be in their 60's. Who can tell.
  8. Kascha, I'm also a fan of real grass you can get your hooves/toes into, and have a really nice grass thing going on over in my garden, using mainly Kidd grass, and some Organica (Both are prims that you rezz on your land. Kidd is no copy, but very good value-per-prim. Organica is copy/mod and has different shapes for going over your bumpy bits but I find it takes more prims to cover the area well). I also love some particles, like others here have said (Fluffy Green Meadows is well worth a visit for this and very inspiring, but these really only suit flat land). All of them have plain grass/ flowery grass versions that are very very pretty. I have no idea what your machine is. I wish I could help you as I'm a huge fan of proper grassy grass. I assume the machine maps your land, and helps you make a texturable sculpt map that conforms to it? But you want sculpt maps that stick up from the ground in clumps and are texturable? To me, it sounds like you need to be sculpting your own prims and custom texturing them, so that they fit with your land contours. You need more specialist info, so if I were you, I'd be contacting the machine's maker, or any support groups/websites of theirs. Sorry I'm not more help.
  9. Perhaps some are normal everyday people roleplaying what they think a high-class escort is? Perhaps it's wise of anyone supplying this kind of service to set out very clearly at the start what the boundaries are, hence the serious-sounding notecards? Just two guesses. Shrugs. I suspect many of us would hate to deal with the men who can't get a bonk via any other avenue. Thank goodness someone is attempting to keep them off the streets. I salute them.
  10. There's nothing wrong with SL merchants. Lots of us became creators, and then subsequently merchants because we couldn't find the things in SL we wanted, so learnt to make them ourselves. Lots of us just happen to be women, so that's why it's skewed that way. Women also have lots of substandard tack to choose from, and not everything is to all of our tastes. Picking and choosing is part of the fun. My male alt had your problem too, so he just gave up and joined the priesthood. Your solution may be less extreme. Maybe you could ask over in the fashion section, as they are pretty clue-ey over there. Perhaps post a few piccies of how you'd like to dress, and see what is suggested? Best of luck
  11. Only a computer glitch could come up with such a hideous mess (I hope). Let's hope it's soon sorted out.....Snort.
  12. My mind boggles wondering what that key unlocks.
  13. Ohh Valerie...aren't they the greatest images! I'd love it if someone could verify where those are taken, as they certainly aren't SL photos. Is it a poser thing? Some other 3D world? I'm not complaining, as the shoes are actually fantastic in SL too.
  14. Heya Rhonda- I know you've said that before somewhere and I'm sorry they don't suit you, but I just couldn't not post them. Happily, there's still a gazzillion cool shoes out there Sadly, that's where much of my "profits" go.
  15. I love those boots so much I put them in the boots thread. And I never post (well......nearly never)
  16. KWZ's "Miss Juliana". An evil Little Bo Peep
  17. ok, I'm back...I don't wear a lot of boots, but here's Rapier, from Similar. I just adore the sculpting on the heels and the fastenings. They are simply a cut above (no pun intended)
  18. Those ol' Shiny boots are my favourites still to this very day. Unlike many early footwear purchases, these have withstood the test of time. They have gotten me safely through many a rat-infested sewer, and out into the sunlight beyond. I'm logging in to find my favourite latest boot find.......brb...
  19. Ahh! This burning need to see a vision in the flesh is what got me started in SL creation. Inspiration is a wonderful thing. I don't see why this shouldn't work, if you can find the right creator to work with. Make sure you come and show us the results if this all comes together
  20. Polenth Yue wrote: It's not unusual to see someone visit the shop, then buy on the marketplace. They want to see it before they buy. Also, some customers favour in-world sales (this might vary on product, but for garden stuff, a fair number prefer to shop in-world). I haven't had any luck with malls. I try new ones every now-and-then, but none of them have made a profit. One of the issues is a mall doesn't give me space to put the products out. /me nods...I think many of us are seeing a balance between Marketplace and inworld sales, and they do compliment each other. For some reason, I suspect I'm easier to find in the marketplace search compared to inworld search, and so new customers from there will sometimes end up purchasing inworld. On malls- I too have found them to be pretty much a waste of time and money, but they are not the only form of rented store. I find themed rp sims to be much more effective for this, as they are not the generic bland excuse-for-shopping that a mall is. They have community, and a purpose for existing already. This is not only good for business, but can add bonus fun points to your life as well. An aside; I've been redecorating this week, and found a beautiful place inworld where everything I needed was rezzed on display. Then, over the next few days, as items I'd seen in this store were needed, I bought them from the Marketplace. So convenient, and this way really makes the best use of both. (And my home looks superb, btw. I've had waaay too much fun.)
  21. Hi Valois..this is an interesting topic, and I'm looking forward to seeing what others have to say. While my Marketplace sales are increasing, and are now on a par with inworld sales, I still intend to keep my mainstore and satelite stores. The decision is partly business-based, as I believe that I'm covering two demographics- those who immerse and shop inworld (like I often do), and those who like Marketplace convenience. Inworld, I can participate in sales events and fairs, and have an actual presence that customers can see. It's very much an emotional/lifestyle choice too. I really enjoy making the store an expression of what my business is about. It's a space that I enjoy, and it's a chance to display info and items in a 3D environment. In fact a big part of my brain really wants to understand how it can be that we have this potentially gorgeous and unique virtual world, and the people who were attracted to that concept are now supposedly shopping on a flat conventional website. It's a bit arse-backwards, I reckon, or is the average sl-er today not the same virtual citizen as 3 years ago? As a shopper, I'll often use the Marketplace to find a product, and then I'll usually go to the inworld store to look about and purchase. Or if I'm in a store I'll look up a product on the Marketplace to glean more info from the merchants description. Anyway, while my inworld shops continue to profit, attract new customers, and bring me joy, I'm going to continue doing what I came to SL to do.....and that's live in a virtaul 3D world.

I'm absolutely with you on this. I cringe to trouble my own group members with my own spammage too often, let alone anyone else's.
  23. Ahh yes..that's a common and frustrating problem with group chat (as opposed to group notices), and on some days it can be nigh impossible to use. I've had the same thing happen, like making a comment in chat, and have it not appear, so when I re-enter it, it comes out twice, making me feel like a bit of a dick. Good luck with your new and hopefully friendlier group. May you never need to sic your own pawns on anyone
