  1. No... Teqi's exists for one very specific purpose and the quiet in the club just means that there is a lot happening in IM. You go there, you stand around and look at everyone else, read profiles, then go in for the approach in IM. A lot of chatter in local would disturb the... er... well, rhythm, I suppose. 😝
  2. I'm aware of the phrase. I was focusing on the ice cube and how salt affects the way it melts from a chemical reaction standpoint. Anyway, sure, take it with a grain of salt. The question was asked and I answered. A Mole could wander in and answer it as well, but apparently they wouldn't be believed, either. Patch could come in and clarify, too, but some wouldn't believe him. Ebbe could show up and answer, but he's no more believable than Patch is, so the question is unanswerable since no one will believe the answer given.
  3. It's making me laugh to think of your grandmother and this kid playing together in SL. Going shopping, exploring, playing dress-up, your grandmother shaking her booty in some club... or maybe they trolled together! Went to sandboxes and fussed at people. "Pull up your pants, young man!" "Would your nana approve of you leaving the house dressed that way, Miss Hotty Pants?" ... giggles ...
  4. I'm honestly not entirely sure. A few months ago when that thread was created, the ability to snag a Bellisseria home was extremely rare. That's not so much the case any longer. There still aren't nearly enough to please everyone, but they are much easier to grab now and I'm not sure of the necessity of posting every time a Bellisseria property shows up on the land page. Releases, sure. There is still plenty of excitement around every new region release and I do think it's helpful to know if a release contains traditionals, houseboats, or trailers so people know whether or not to start slamming the refresh key or sit it out because it's not a release of the type of home they want.
  5. I once asked a Mole this question and was told that they do not. When they're on their resident account, their chances of getting a Bellisseria home, and the location, are the same as it is for the rest of us.
  6. Sooooo... is this now the correct thread to post abandons in? Or is it the other thread? Is that thread just for posting official releases and spotting them on the land page? Would it maybe be simpler to create two brand new threads, one titled "See a release? Post it here!" and one called "Post your Abandons here!" to clarify things? I also wonder, with the number of people still attempting to get a new LH, if posting abandons is even necessary. The are snapped up instantly, and it's not because someone has posted it on the forums - it's because there is still a massive demand for the homes and it's not giving anyone reading the forums a leg up as we see from people who stick around to see who got their abandon and post their names - very rarely, if ever, is it another forum poster. I'm truly not trying to be argumentative here - people can post what they want where they want but it might be worth considering having two very clear threads to keep near the top so new folks coming in for information can see them and know what they're for. Or even one thread clearly named as to the purpose for it - "Releases and Abandons."
  7. What does that have to do with the question I asked? And do you really but think that avatars created in the last 9 years are considered new? I certainly don't. I have my viewer set to only show display names since that's what people want to be known by and couldn't give a crap if their username ends in Resident or Smith. I get that people want last names again, though I'm not sure why it's really necessary when we have display names. Are people really that snobby about avatar age?
  8. So... no one knows of this secret, ultra-exclusive mystery club, huh? It's almost as if it doesn't exist! However, I belong to quite a few clubs that do require either a hefty membership fee and/or an interview. I'm going to assume we're talking about an adult club, if it exists, and those are the ones I'm talking about. I'm going to play devil's advocate here because when I was a participating member of those types of activities, I sought out the clubs and groups that specifically weren't free or required an interview before membership was granted. I was looking for one thing, and one thing only, and I had a very specific type that I was looking for. That type isn't found at the free adult places. That sounds snobby, but... there it is. The higher the membership fee, the more likely an avatar is to be well put together, updated, attractive, and capable. There are incredible, amazing, lovely, intelligent, funny, fabulous people for whom having an updated avatar just isn't a priority, and that's awesome, but that wasn't what I was looking for. I wanted the visual titillation along with the ability to string words together in an erotic manner at a level much higher than the standard doofus you find wandering around the free places in a naked standard body with an enormously out of proportion, mismatched, discolored freenis. I was paying to have those guys weeded out for me before I even started looking for a partner for the evening. It wasn't a perfect system by any means, and having an avatar that suited my personal tastes certainly didn't guarantee that the guy wasn't an ass or an idiot. I was excellent at what I did and I expected my partners to have the same level of expertise. When that is the particular thing you're looking for, the paid clubs help with the vetting process. These clubs also aren't cheap to run. Not only do most of them have their own region, they are impeccably designed and have to be constantly updated with the latest and greatest adult furnishings and decor. Pose balls are not acceptable, and the better made items can cost thousands, especially now when a single chair is expected to be Bento, Aeros, and It's Not Mine compatible at the very least. The membership fees help offset those costs. Mind you, I fell head over heels in love with a man wearing the same avatar he was SL born with and he's flawless in my eyes. 🥰
  9. So you're just going to ignore all the stuff in between about the people with resident last names. Gotcha. To hell with them, right?
  10. I was in the audience as well. I heard Oz explaining what makes it so difficult since they absolutely have to take into account all the resident last name accounts that have been created in the years since last names were dropped. Yes, I suppose theoretically, they could just turn them back on but can you imagine the absolute sh*t storm that would ensue from residents that were expected to create new accounts if they wanted a last name?
  11. Yes, I read that. What part of it indicates that the process is as simple as flipping a switch?
  12. Do you really think if it was that simple, LL wouldn't have already just flipped the switch back on? Source?
  13. I am a coward of the first order... I've never done a Haunted thingie before but I just did it and I don't really know what glytches are but if they're those little laughing thingies, I was okay with them. Precisely because I'm a coward. 😝 The thing that got me, though, is that I turn green and get sick on motion simulator rides. This had the same effect, though not as badly. 🤢 Going to lie down for a bit... and then I'm totally doing it again because that was awesome!
  14. To me, this is a good way to weed out the people that are best ignored. I have a couple things in my profile that I would hope people read before messaging me, the big on being that I don't respond to text speak. I will not respond to someone who can't type actual words, and the number of people who still message me with "hru?" makes me want to scream. But it's also a good way for me to know that someone hasn't bothered to find out what I'm about before messaging me and is only fishing for a hookup.
  15. I think this also includes, though, things like DJs that don't have tip jars out asking for tips to be paid directly to them. Or, you know, a hooker doing some solicitation... lol!
  16. That's it exactly. Sure, some people set out to be offensive, and if that's the case they're likely going to do it in either manner. I know there have been instances where I've ignored an IM (and yes, I know that's rude but there is usually a good reason for it) and have been called out in local for being a word that rhymes with witch. Just like in the real world, when you initiate contact with a stranger, no matter the method, it's a risk.
  17. But how is a person supposed to know that? Unless, perhaps, you have it in your profile, and if you do, and people ignore that, that's a different matter. But if you don't, and are less open to people who initiate a conversation in IM, you might be missing out on knowing some really incredible people.
  18. I think the lesson here is to try not to be offended by whatever method someone tries to initiate a conversation because we're all different. Instead be offended by the content of the method. 😝
  19. I distinctly remember a day (I don't keep a spreadsheet so I don't know the exact date) when there were three releases in a row on a Friday. And there was the day that Derrick released a region on a US holiday even though Patch also said there wouldn't be releases on holidays. It's sad... LL are damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they stick to one release three times a week during LL business hours, people complain because they're at work during those hours, or sleeping, or whatever, and if they release regions outside those times, or multiple releases on the same day, people complain because they weren't expecting it.
  20. Patch has already clarified this as well - No commercial activity anywhere in Bellisseria, including tip jars, fishing things, prostitution, etc., etc., so on, so forth, ad infinitum. https://thebellisserian.wixsite.com/editionsix/helpful-info Perhaps this needs to be put into the covenant spelled out in explicit terms like this, but I think they're more worried about building homes to stop and add every possible commercial scenario to it. Maybe after the demand dies down a bit.
  21. It finally worked when I rezzed a fresh horse. Now I have a gorgeous herd (well, four) of Teegle horsies prancing around!
