You don't get a demo AO in the same way you get a demo hat, I expect because once they give you the animations in a demo you have them and can copy them. You have to go to the store and stand on kind of pose stand thing which has the animations in it and you can flip through them by clicking on the arrows.

Artifacts in busy SIMs
Ohjiro Watanabe replied to Impresario Beaumont's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
It is quite a big jump, it might be underpowered. -
Support Answer "We have placed your account on an Administrative hold."
Ohjiro Watanabe replied to alicemini's question in Account
You will have to contact support to get your account opened up again. https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ At the top left of the page there are some language options. If it doesn't work out you could consider making a new account. -
An AO (automation overrider) is normally something you attach to your HUD. Did you try just wearing it?

Does anything work as planned?
Ohjiro Watanabe replied to arabellajones's topic in Second Life Server
Crossing sim boundaries is one of the most complicated things that SL servers have to contend with because one server has to hand over the control of all your bits and bobs to another server. If you plumet from unfriendly skys when you are not hitting ban lines or being ejected by orbs or exceeding the prim limit then it is timeouts caused by you being overloaded. You can improve performance by reducing the stuff that you carry with you such as complex attachments and scripted objects. Flying higher may help with ban lines etc. You could also try flying over linden public land: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Department_of_Public_Works -
If re-logging doesn't help clear your cache or clear inventory cache if your viewer gives that option. A corrupt cache can cause that kind of problem which can be caused by a crash, quite common. When you do this the inventory will have to load again from the server so log in to a quiet sim and give it time to load.

Sassy Romano wrote: .... Network speed, wired or wireless will NOT affect frame rate and only in an inversely proportional mode. SL is not a streamed system, if there's no data coming down, the GPU has nothing to render, frame rate will be off the chart. The faster the connection speed, the more there is to render, the GPU will get slower as more work to be done. That is true but only if you are sitting still. If you start to walk and you don't have enough bandwidth then the FPS will suffer. This is when you press the arrow key to walk and nothing happens and then you take your finger off and start walking. You may also sink into the ground.

You don't mention your Internet connection. Wired or wireless, upload/download speeds. Also, what type of sim are you on. Is it empty or packed full people, exciting scripted things, particle effects vehicles etc. And, if you go to help/about in your viewer there is information about your system so if you copy and paste that into your post it would give a fuller picture.

Yes, I did read it. The Kindle Fire OS is a customized version of Android 4.2. Lumiya is not a supported by Amazon but it runs fine on the Kindle Fire HD 7. I know because I have one and use it. Use Google to find out how to sideload Google apps on Kindle Fire.

LSL Forge and Eclipse integration feedback
Ohjiro Watanabe replied to Rivernaut Piers's topic in LSL Scripting
Eclipse is a bit of a monster, if you are using it already for something else then go for it. Otherwise use the LSLEditor which will check syntax. http://sourceforge.net/projects/lsleditor/ -
Yes you want the android viewer called Lumiya: http://www.lumiyaviewer.com/ Doesn't have all features of a PC viewer but if you are away from your desk it is not a bad alternative.

I know its the trend but...
Ohjiro Watanabe replied to Sephina Frostbite's topic in General Discussion Forum
I find the trend revulting and that thing with the lips as well. -
I'm English of Celtic, Anglo Saxon, Norman, Jewish heritage. I chose my name because many years ago I had a friend called Watanabe and at the time I met him I had never heard such a name and thought it was ultra cool, although I later found out it is a very common name in Japan. I never noticed anyone having a problem with it but if they do then I hope they don't IM me because I don't want to talk to or make friends with racists. As far as talking to others I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and wouldn't think twice about it but I am with Celestiall on the cutesy fonts.

If you can't find a mesh one there are a couple on the market place that are not mesh. -
Is this laptop good for SL?
Ohjiro Watanabe replied to Ava Goland's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
I would think that Ultra would be fine on this laptop. Remember that there are other factors that can affect how smooth it will run, network speed and consistency is one but maybe more important is that if you are on a sim with a lot of avatars the sim itself may be lagging. -
The way I like to do it is to find a place where I would like to live, think about if you want to live by water or up a mountain and so on. Look for likely spots on the map and then go there and fly around. This gives you a feel for the location. Is it well kept or are there lots of ugly buildings and advertising signs and that sort of thing. You can see plots for sale if you go to the World menu and then Show (or Show More) and select Property Lines and Land Owners. If you don't see the colours on the land turn off Advanced Lighting in Preferences/Graphics. Land for sale is coloured orange.

Splatulated wrote: ...and stuff singularity cant see at all (like a new hud I got) Sometimes HUDs rez off screen. A quick fix is to right click on another HUD that you can see, select Edit and then roll your scroll wheel. That will zoom you out of your HUD layer and the missing one will come into view click on that, while still in edit mode and you will be able to drag it into the boundary box. Once you have done it it should stay there.

I keep getting this DNS error and says cannot resolve host name
Ohjiro Watanabe replied to Arclades01's question in Technical
If it is the SL end you would get errors like host not found, waiting for region handshake. DNS errors are problems either at your end or with the DNS service provided by your isp. Usually, restarting your computer and your router will resolve this issue. You should actually turn them off and disconnect from the power supply for a couple of minutes so that the power drains. If that doesn't work try using the google public DNS service by adding 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to your list of DNS servers. If you don't know how it is all explained here: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using -
I paid a visit to your sim. While I was there I noticed the prim available count go up and down between 30 something and 0. Couldn't spot what was doing it but I did notice one odd object. You have someting called Van Ivy, which is a van with some ivy draped over it. It is listed about 40 times in the same position with a land impact of 17 for each copy. I suggest you try taking it back into your inventory and see what happens.

Important: New feature ;-)
Ohjiro Watanabe replied to Coby Foden's topic in General Discussion Forum
That was probably Grumpy Linden's idea.
