  1. I have learned that I’m a lot closer to living my best life than I thought because very little in my daily routines changed, I only miss the travel and gatherings aspects. We cocoon together a lot by choice, our home is our cozy haven away from the world. I learned that I still have too much stuff so this week, I sorted 5 bags worth to go out, donation, recycling, (when the proper places re-open)...but yeah, some trash too. I learned that I’ll keep and continue to use things I feel are too worn or broken to donate or give away, haha. Out with them! I’ve learned it feels marvelous to purge when so many have gone the opposite and are hoarding odd things. ive learned that clinging to a daily routine feels good for me, not stifling. I may stay late in my nightgown on a weekend but the devil jumps when my feet hit the floor on weekday mornings. And it feels good.
  2. I haven’t, I read Tarot and I can use a pendulum. But I had a friend who did IChing and she was accurate. You should definitely give it a go.
  3. I’m getting a few of my blank dolls out to see about painting them...he’s 61cm and he’s an oldie...but any blank canvas doll is a fun one. He needs a good cleaning, resin oxidation has yellowed him some and shadows of the old paint linger. Not sure if I’ll unstring him and soak him in oxyclean or just scrub over his face and hands gently but well with acetone and then seal and repaint. I need to order an airbrush discharge/cleaning pot, it will make the cleaning chore a bit less of a hassle.
  4. I’m going to start leaving some raw meat bits on one of the deck posts for a local hawk I hear, I’ve gotten a couple to come close and eat nearby this way before, they are so beautiful. The songbirds start at about 5:30am so I’ve been waking up to that most mornings, it makes my heart feel so light to hear them.
  5. Going to the ballet and ballet guild meetings and activities. Local museum for lunch and afternoons lost in the galleries. Mani-pedi and massage. Gym, holy *****...though I’m getting plenty of exercise in the bend-stretch, lift, tote etc. by doing a massive Spring Cleaning...just no sauna, pool, jacuzzi after, just an Epsom salts soak, wah! Otherwise, just shifting my attention to the things I CAN do, and finding creative ways of staying connected to social things without letting the social noise (FB) back in. I’m not one to dwell overlong on stuff though, I’m more about the ”welp, let’s just do this instead that for now” mode of coping.
  6. Dawn, dress fully, tea and sundries, hit the spring cleaning in the form of games with my gal crew, we post our cleaning rounds... ...self-care for me right now is comfort in routine on weekdays. Afternoons are for freelance work, art, hobby craft.
  7. Solidarity. Also now I too want a puffy omelette made with a vomit chicken. But I do have broccoli and ham frittata and we just finished round 2 of deviled eggs so it’s all good.
  8. A 5-7-7-5, because French syllables are hard! aujourd'hui appris des fauves meurent maintenant sous la pluie de printemps tout le monde le sait 今日学んだ 猫は今死ぬ みんな知ってる
  9. the streets are empty small towns suddenly bigger in the spring sunshine
  10. Just wave the Billie cover at people, most will run away 😉
  11. I’m pretty sure the other thread will get nuked so I’m a double post this one, can’t stop, won’t stop!
  12. from the window here illness is on the spring air tasting of flowers
  13. Man, I just like food and seeing what people are eating in the thread. Frozen or scratch, it’s always so interesting what people can get up to in the fooding process. If you don’t like to cook, so many good things in the freezer, jars and cans. Yumyum to it all! 🤩
  14. It is a sweet gherkin . There is a wives tale that dill pickles before bed cause nightmares, not sure where it is from but my grandmother believed it, haha! I’m ok if I go to sleep before about 11pm but after and I nearly always want a snack!
  15. Today I have the whole beef loin to take apart. I’ve done plenty of pork loins but never a beef. $1.88/pound vs $11.99/pound though! I think I’ll do filets, I’m not feeling confident enough to attempt a chateaubriand. Also, no veal stock or base for that sauce. (And yes, I’m making excuses because I’m just too chicken to wreck it!) so...filets with roasted asparagus and blender béarnaise it is! I’ll freeze 2 and defrost next weekend to see how they defrost as well, a test to see if this freezer is at all kind to beef, a friend wants to partner with us to order a side of beef but I’m not sure this old top freezer is up to the task of keeping it well. Sam’s almost always has choice grade angus that tastes good so that will be hard to beat without a chest freezer and significantly better beef.
  16. Tonight, spice-rubbed roasted pork loin with cherry sauce, smashed taters, carrot/apple slaw. Hello Fresh comes through when fresh meat (besides cuts of $$$ choice angus beef) is scarce just now. It will get better very soon, there’s just a lag between people buying out the shops and new things coming in, I’m guessing. I also made a plate of deviled eggs. I usually start making them in the spring so it’s good to keep routine. My SO is still working remotely here at home but otherwise my cooking routine isn’t that different. We both like home cooking best and I really do enjoy cooking. I also have a new Easter tea blend with flower petals in it.
  17. 2 cups of Epsom salts and a few drops of lavender oil in a tub...stress-melting. 🌊 I am only having one cup of coffee in the morning then switching to chai made with mostly chicory and spices, adding just a bit of black tea. My moods are still quite up and down though. I’m not really very good company at all.
