  1. A tad sensitive, are we, with pointing out issues with that meme? Sounds suspiciously snowflakey to me. And thanks Victor for clarifying the intent, sweetie I'm as guilty as the next of sometimes no getting the message out as well as I'd like. Except in Paul's case, he gets what I'm saying just doesn't like it much apparently. (And eww, yes, strawberry ice cream? Eww.)
  2. Not doing yourself any favours, victor, sporting a 4chan meme co-opted aggressively by the alt-right, unless you're sending a deliberate message? Thankfully, Furie (the original Boys Club creator) is finally getting court settlements from Alex Jones and his ilk for using it without permission in those alt-right contexts. I'm sure you didn't intend the connection though. Maybe I can say hi in game?
  3. We settled on one we love and it's up and running now, thanks everyone.
  4. Campbell Coast Artist Village is a great collection of galleries. Highly recommended. I had mine there at one point, and BJoyful and the gang and the other artists are amazing. I have my own view-only gallery now above my houseboat for more space to show. I have 32 of my one-only works on display with room for a few more if I had time to create them.
  5. Tempted to apply if RL wasn't so busy. Also, I couldn't sell in your venue as mine are one-off pieces (sold and taken), but I could make some specific for that exhibition if I was selected. (I sold 25 pieces in one day last week, never done that before, my gallery went from 32 to 7 available works.)
  6. Saw that Alwin, I guess they are out of business now
  7. That's what I am thinking and have suggested, thanks! I'd rather have 20 nice dances that fit the theme of the place, than 100 random genre dances that people have to flip through via a slow menu to find one suitable to the music being played.
  8. Gotten myself involved in a new small jazz club that's opening up soon with a dance space. Co-owners (and me) are seeking a good dance ball that focuses on jazz, or at least slower dances (as opposed to the amazing ones like at Foxxie's that also have a lot of ballroom and formal). Any thoughts about brands besides the standard INTAN with the stuff we don't like removed? Thanks!
  9. Links to my in-world viewing gallery and my MP store. A note about being an artist and gallery owner. SLT+3. The other note in that section is about being male IRL, but all female in SL, and if that weirds you out, too bad. No other info needed.
  10. Good OP. I used to hang at Franks in both Kat and my male avatar form until I had someone who is regular there ask me to step away from their SL, and I made the mature decision to avoid the place. So always looking for a good replacement. Love Foxxies as Kat, so that is one great place at least. More casual jazz would always be welcome.
  11. The same emotional effects, I would suggest. You do miss the tactile experience of art in SL ... and I am specifically talking about painting, as that is what I do here in SL and RL ... the possible scent, the texture and touch, sometimes the scale, but overall art is successful when you allow a viewer to feel an emotion when viewing your work. The stronger the emotion, positive or negative, the more "successful" the work, though I exclude works that are very deliberately designed to offend or shock. Example: What do you feel when you view one of Cy Twombly's works? An Alberto Giacometti statue? A Pollock painting? The late Christo's tree-wrapped parks? (For me ... a breathtaking childlike curiosity and work of a genius that makes me almost cry, a sense of stunned awe and wonder, a sense of scale and hidden depths, and "meh", in that order). What I mean by the words "very deliberately designed to offend or shock" is I can easily create an artwork that I know would deliberately/with intention offend someone's sensibilities, causing outrage and anger (a strong emotion = success, right?). Now, I personally believe that I do have the right to offend your sensibilities, be they moral or religious etc to make a point about society, but that too easily crosses into deliberately poking a sharp stick into a bear. For example, I could create a piece with the mythical Judeo-Christian Mary figure crucified in lingerie to make a point about feminism and misogny, and I know that would most likely offend true believers. But is it a valid work to discuss the power hierarchy of the Catholic Church, say? Aside, the concept of blasphemy to me is a victimless and made up crime ... you do not have the right to not be offended, sorry. I can speak out/criticize any institution I want, thanks. But back to the original question. Visual art can be implemented in a virtual world and should be able to trigger feelings and emotions when you view it. Why should it not? It's a visual piece. Your brain and emotions process it. You feel something (hopefully). It lacks some things from the physical world, but the emotions are still triggered and that, for me, is how art functions. To make you feel something.
  12. At the start I tinkered to get the look I wanted. Finally got everything smoothed out, and follow my own 8:1 idealized artists proportions for my body ... therefore 5'9" (175cm), correct shoulder position, torso length, leg and arm length, hip placement, widths, crotch and navel at the proper spot, knees, etc. Too many women in game are wayyyy to leggy, and I notice things like that as an artist.
  13. Good list but a major miss is the Timber Wild Industries animal avatars under Furry/Other, along with JOMO's great work.
  14. Why is this in the Adult section of the forums?
  15. Brilliant stats, thanks. Woohoo! LOGO Willow at #243. Yes!
  16. Thank you for all your help Rowan and Bookish. I managed to grab one at Foxy I love that has two states ... down with a scrunchie on your wrist, and then animated to put it up into a ponytail. The Period one from Nonnative looks awesome but it fit poorly on my LOGO head as it was designed with Lelutka in mind. Looks awesome, thanks again.
  17. Perfect that one called Period, Rowan!!! Wow, super thanks! (Now I have to rush off from Foxxies dancing to get that!)
  18. Yay! That's pretty close, yeah. I'll keep looking, nothing so far. I tried Wasabi and the two that Rowan mentioned, and not quite right. Also, as you said, I could not find hair at Nonnative, only skins and hair bases (though they are really nice products there). BTW, I am male IRL, and, umm, do know who that is. LOL.
  19. Seeking a medium length ponytail. Tightly pulled back from front of face, not puffy ponytail, falling quite narrow and straight. Also, the scrunchy not too high on head. I've checked my usual places and not any luck (DOUX, Magika, Truth). Thoughts?
  20. Yes. COCO, Seniha, erratic, Moon Elixir.
