  1. Maybe they should offer display names for the forum.
  2. I agree with this one in particular. Learning mesh was such a confusing experience when I joined sl. I can't imagine what it's like now that new users have to add BOM on top of it. LL should at least let users choose an "invisible" classic avatar from the library to save the trouble of having to hide anything. Don't know enough to comment on the other points. But I do get frustrated at how poorly sl utilizes modern hardware. Shouldn't be like this.
  3. I'd try it if it was me. I can't imagine what you'd get in trouble for if none of the posts are against TOS.
  4. Submitting a ticket might be the way. But if you want to submit an Abuse Report as well just in case, when you're inworld, it should be under Help > Report Abuse.
  5. I actually heard of something similar to what Amina said as well. A friend got scammed some lindens from some "gift" from a stranger. It was a small amount but he got his lindens back from LL or at least that's what he told me.
  6. Thanks so much for letting me know. Can I ask how large your inventory was approximately when you deactivated?
  7. Does anyone know what happens to your inventory if you delete your sl account? Is it recoverable if you decide to reactivate, and if so, is there a time limit before it becomes unrecoverable? ETA: Particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has had actual experience with this, given the info available online is a bit vague.
  8. Where are you getting this error message? When you're trying to log on inworld or something else?
  9. I know someone in rl who went and got glamour photos done. She went for the "wearing high heels in a bikini on the beach" look. Eek.
  10. @yamata2018 Maybe refer to other avis that are asian looking and use them as guides for your shape. If you don't find any inworld, look for ads from stores that sell asian stuff and take a look at their models.
  11. @whiwendyHave you tried using an alt for a while until they lose interest in harassing you? Not that this is a real solution but it could be an alternative for you to still enjoy sl without being griefed.
  12. That's a very powerful image. It conveys the fear and looming horror so effectively. Can I ask what viewer you used to take it? It's so beautifully sharp.
  13. What's with all these newbs asking for jobs? I wonder if they're all the same people!
  14. Doc I think you're mistaken. Jordan never replied to you in this thread 😶
  15. Yes I'm in total agreement with this. I don't think it's right to look down on or judge anyone based on their job. This is in terms of how we treat the people. But my thoughts are slightly different when it comes to talking about the job or industry itself. I don't necessarily judge the people involved, but the nature of the industry and the ramifications it entails.
  16. At times I feel women want the best of both worlds. They want to endorse the sex industry but they're not ok with women being objectified. Being ok with the sex industry is in part being ok with objectifying women. That's how that industry makes its money. I get the reasoning for wanting to equalize sex labour with every other type of labour - because we're all human and we don't want to treat one type different to another. But no, not all jobs are the same or equal. It's probably unpopular to say out loud but it's fact. The workers themselves are equal, but not the jobs. And there are certain industries that promote or at least perpetuate certain social standpoints that women have fought hard against. No I don't think the people who work in the industry (or any for that matter) should be despised. But I will acknowledge that they are not innocent parties when it comes to objectifying women. They contribute to it, at least indirectly. And this is where I also feel feminists sometimes try to push beyond equality, to the point of man-hating. Like it's ok for women to express their kink, but god forbid when a man does it. When a man does it, it's creepy, but when a woman does it, it's empowering. That, to me is not equality.
  17. Isn't the whole daddy thing a kink though? And is there really an issue with him dolling up a female av? I've got a male alt myself (work in progress one). Sure, creating female avs and using them to demean women would bother me. But the pics in this thread aren't exactly demeaning IMO. I can't speak for other threads since I haven't seen them. But if he were pimping out girls he's made, is that really that off putting? That's just as legit as there being an sl sex industry. Pimps and sex workers work together.
  18. So leaning towards mp then? I feel safer with mp keeping all our records whereas inworld, if you forget to save your transactions before the month is up, it's gone for good. I didn't think to save them when I first joined, and trust, those were the ones I needed to prove a double purchase later on!
  19. In total agreement with this. I particularly feel that women need to take more responsibility for how we are viewed. Be the change we want to see sort of thing. Which is why when I encounter the women you describe, those who solely represent themselves sexually and nothing else, I feel they are damaging the progress made for us and perpetuating our objectification. The onus on us is larger than that on men. At least that's what I believe. If we can't make a better example, who are we to talk? We being women. And this part is one of the other reasons for my conflicted view. This is sl. We encourage people to live out their imagination. I've seen all sorts. So I'm a bit surprised at this objection. I always thought that people aim to not judge here. We don't judge non-human avs, we don't judge trans. But the moment we discover there's a straight man behind a scantily dressed female avatar, bring out the pitchforks. Should the photographer's gender even be relevant? Or should he have posted under a female alt to avoid this sort of reaction? And while I do agree that seeing a bit more variety than the sexualized woman genre in his or anyone's art would be refreshing, artists often have a certain consistent style/theme. There are some who exclusively take landscapes and while it would be nice to see that artist try something different, I wouldn't expect it. Of course I'd want men to stop focussing on women's sexuality. But when there is an artist whose style is in that alley, it's expected that all his pictures are of that flavor and I'm baffled that people would expect otherwise. It's like going to Anne Gedes "why are all your pictures focused on babies?". On the other hand, he did ask for opinions so there's that.
  20. I feel a bit conflicted about this. Obviously part of me agrees because as a female, of course I'd like for men to portray us in ways other than sexually. However, many women exclusively express and portray themselves sexually here on sl and we're ok with that. We even champion it. But when a man does it, we wag our fingers. Just feels like a double standard or even hyprocritical.
  21. Comic book art is cool 'cause these are characters with a story, and that's one of the things I usually look for - a kind of story about who the character is or something. This pic is a nice shot but since she's just doing a pose in a blank background, I can't help but feel there's something missing. Nothing's really happening in it and it almost feels a bit empty if that makes any sense? She's totally cute though!
  22. Wow good for you Fairre. Must be a lot of work. I've only come across one mp store that offered furniture demos that you can add to your cart. If it's not too hard to find in the store, going inworld to see demos is fine. Problem is not every item stays on display inworld. Older stuff are mp only which I guess means buy at your own risk.
  23. Oh thanks, did not know that, although I use my phone for forums mostly so the layout's a bit limited.
  24. Yeah agreed. I thought about how product updates impact MP redelivery as well. Inworld, sometimes you get an automatic delivery of updates... sometimes. But on MP, the seller might not even update their listing for the update to be redelivered. And I think it would be great if you can get a redelivery via a link on the MP product page, rather than wait a million years that it takes to process a search in your order history.
