  1. There is a bug where some meshes wont rez till you right click on them, clearing cache is a workaround but not a fix. Just relogging can also solve the problem. It's something we have noticed, but absence of repeatability makes it almost impossible to actually debug
  2. I would very much like the ability for playback speed, priority (etc etc etc) to be overridden by script.
  3. They only really impact those who can be chastened and reconstructed. Traits I would argue make someone more valuable to our little society as a whole.
  4. Are we really served by them returning on unknown & disposable accounts? Are we really believing that a permaban applies literally and identically to everyone? The only people I've known who stayed banned were those who truly felt an attachment to their accounts and fought LL to get them reinstated, often continuing to pay LL service fees for months before giving up and moving on (even when in the end the ban was lifted).
  5. I don't want to get into the details, but it's a fairly safe assumption that the resourceful can always find a way back, the worst of the worst never really left. If anything a permaban just lowers future stakes and increases the motivation to cause trouble. The banned return with less investment (because they know it's all forfeit) and vengeful. An annual pardon would increase the stakes, retaining the investment in an account and provide a legitimate way to reenter SL, perhaps a little wiser. A new year and a second chance.
  6. I would like LL to do something very much in the spirit of the season, a time for forgiveness and peace. Repeal all permabans.
  7. Shrike Linden has responded to (and closed) the JIRA issue I raised (https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-231482) Mystery resolved.
  8. This is as problem of context. It's not impossible for the viewer to rough up a simple body and with a little math prevent limbs from intersecting (the code to make it not look janky in motion would be more complicated) .. BUTT 🍑 .. the viewer has no idea if an animation is supposed to be clipping into itself or not. So while it might work fine for a load of use cases, it will break a whole mess of content where that clipping is desirable or even essential. Vehicle riding poses, animations that repurpose rarely used bones (extra legs etc) and tinies spring to mind, although it would probably impact enough general use animations to make it pointless. Don't worry, I'm bringing the poop train.
  9. SL water comes with a major performance hit and you want more complicated water?!
  10. I have coloring books. I rarely start them in case one less than perfect picture ruins the entire thing .. like notebooks & sketchbooks, love them .. but that first page needs to be really good or it's all junk.
  11. It beautifully illustrates the complete disconnect between upper management and the product at hand.
  12. https://danielvoyager.wordpress.com/2016/03/05/latif-khalifa-has-passed-away-developer-of-the-radegast-metaverse-client-singularity-viewer-and-replex-viewer/ Latif passed away in 2016, he is deeply missed.
  13. Most YT creators income comes from patreon and baked in sponsorships, if they have the later, really don't need loose sleep over supporting them.
  14. Set up a PiHole and you will never see the intro video ever again. You will also never see adverts on web pages, windows wont be able to send telemetry data home, and adverts will vanish from mobile devices so long as they exclusively use your wifi You will need. 1 Raspberry Pi 3B+ $35 1 Case to put your Pi in - $8 1 16GB Micro SD Card with The OS - $8 https://pi-hole.net/ To complete the privacy trifecta, install browser addons uBlock and Privacy Badger No adverts, no holes in web pages and no adverts on youtube.
  15. Yes. as in LITERALLY giving them the code, ownership and all. Everything published in a TPV is under the GPL, this is a requirement as LL publish their code under the GPL. LL do not just add code from TPV's, it would taint their code and bind them to the terms of the GPL, forcing them to always release source code forever. Code MUST be submitted to them under the terms of the contribution agreement, which simply put, means they own it and can license it any way they choose. TPV developers giving code ownership to LL are not compensated. This is why I always ask LL to publicly reaffirm their commitment to open source development at SLB events etc. It's an asymmetrical relationship, and not at all typical of how open source software is normally developed. The nature of this relationship is directly responsible for the large number of TPV projects and the vast bulk of viewer work never being submitted back to LL.
  16. Which is just the same old lazy trope .. the only people with Second Lives are those without First Lives, which is more than a little degrading.
  17. If LL were anti land, they would have come up with a plan to get out of land rather than sink a years development time into an AWS move at great expense, they also wouldn't be adding all the new land .. Why should anyone at LL take anything you say seriously on the matter of search under performing after that 1300 word rambling conspiracy theory about how LL are out to get your rental business ... for reasons ? Could have just filled a JIRA .. "rentals" is missing from search is either an oversight and needs to be added, or the category has been depreciated and it remaining in the viewer is an oversight and it should be removed. Done it for you ... https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-231482
