  1. I'm really confused at this particular definition of relationship. I've had zero of the type you describe. I was engaged in my twenties and my fiancé passed away when I was 25. I've been married once in rl. Divorced four years and I'm now in a relationship here and in rl to the same wonderful man. So three monogamous long term relationships in my 42 years.
  2. I just wish to thank you because I learned something from your post. I never knew this and it gives a different perspective on things to think upon. I'll be moving to the UK in less than two years now, so every side is so important for me to understand.
  3. I love light pink, red, light blue, green, and orange. I love most colors.
  4. I'm disabled and on an extremely tight budget. When I joined SL, I figured out how best to manage my wants here. Premium membership pretty much covered those things because I have my home and a weekly stipend. I've only ever had a linden home and small home on my sister's residential sim. With the creation of Bellisseria, I now live in a place that is filled with waterways to sail on, roads to bike through, etc. I consider myself fortunate. I've even been fortunate enough to be able to have my alt set up as premium too at times. This last year when premium fees went up, I had to stop my alt's premium. I wasn't happy about the price hike. I even vented a little, but I understood that nothing in SL is a necessity. I've just always had to be frugal in both worlds. Second Life is my social outlet so it's an incredibly special and important place to me. I don't need much to have a fulfilling existence here. I couldn't even imagine being able to afford a homestead. I'm not certain the tone is exactly entitled, but perhaps more naive in what one should expect realistically from a business. Perhaps instead of thinking on such a large scale, learn to downsize so you can still have your wants fulfilled here that won't break you financially.
  5. I do use the reaction buttons at times if what I'm reading has moved my emotions in someway. If I agree with something I've read on a deep level, that always gets the like reaction usually. Unless it's something that really speaks to me on a deeper level. If that's the case, it will get the thanks reaction. If I read something humorous, it gets the giggle reaction. If I read something confusing, the confused reaction. if I don't agree with something, most of the time I will leave it be because i figure if I've nothing nice to impart, I shouldn't impart anything. I do wish there was a love reaction and a thumbs up one. I would use those quite a bit.
  6. Out in the Paddle Boat around Bellisseria.
  7. I've been mostly a lurker of these forums on Lyrical since 2017. Longer on my old account. I'm an avid reader and love to learn about many different things so these forums are great for that. Since joining the forums, I've commented when the mood and subject matter move me. Normally I'm very shy with debilitating social anxiety. Last summer I tried to begin commenting to perhaps make some friends here. I commented mainly in the Bellisseria section since my family has a house there. I also took a liking to the word games, but my goofy habit of making the weirdest sentences possible seemed to annoy some so I stopped. Neither friendship or community really worked out so I'm back in my safe shell for the most part where I'm most comfortable. I'm back to lurking again unless a topic moves me. Which suits me well. Forums are a wonderful source of information.
  8. I've recently started binge watching Outlander. I read the entire series twenty years ago and I really didn't know a series was made until a few weeks ago. I really feel out of the loop of things. I watched the first season, but I'm not sure I'll continue since it is turning to be too violent for my taste.
  9. I've been in sl for eleven years this next month and still login daily most of the time unless I'm pretty sick. It is my social platform although that might be perhaps strange to say since I have social anxiety. I mainly stick to hubby's and my home on my sister's residential sim or our home in Bellisseria to spend time with my family. So yes, I'm pretty active inworld and have been active in the forums infrequently since I think 2017.
  10. I really try to avoid eating fast food so although their chicken has a nice flavor, I prefer baking my own chicken at home. It tastes better and is far healthier. Oh gosh I do love their cole slaw though! Oh gosh now I want some.
  11. I prefer text since I'm deaf. It's still strange typing that out now because a few years ago I was only hoh. I've read lips most of my life. I sign in two languages. I just wouldn't hear enough to successfully have a conversation with the other person so it's pointless for me. The few times i will use voice is when I'm asked to sing at a small gathering I've been singing at for almost eleven years. Celtic music mainly.
  12. Normally I'm not someone who will talk about my politics with others unless specifically asked. I was taught to listen to others more than talk because that is how we learn. I experienced two similar things in both rl and sl related to current politics here in the US that has made the willingness to listen stop. At least to an extent. The first time was in sl. I was at a park with my zooby daughter. I got a message saying that they saw from my profile I was one of the many useless humans living off the government because I'm deaf. That they had hope Trump would purge the country of people like me because I didn't contribute to society. Although this happened in sl, it shook me up. I grabbed my daughter and teleported home because although no one can cause physical harm in sl, it did cause harm in other ways. A similar experience happened in rl about a year ago while I was at the grocery store shopping with a friend. My friend and I were signing back and forth. I had an older gentlemen approach us with the same assumptions we lived off the government and that he hoped along with the illegals being rounded up, members in society like us would be rounded up as well. That it would be a good move for our country to get rid of us. This was much more terrifying for obvious reasons. If I know someone is a Trump supporter, I will avoid them in both worlds. We all have the freedom of our political views and to express those views. I realize that. I'm not going to blame LL for those who get hateful about their views though. I'm not going to stop showing my support financially because of it. It just means I'm very careful about who I interact with.
  13. I've never really made resolutions for the New Year, but I do come up with a "root word" as my dad called them. A word I choose to allow to take root like a tree and grow. This year the word I chose is kindness. Kindness for others and myself. Happy New Year.
  14. I can't listen because I'm deaf, but I was raised a universalist Quaker. Not all Quakers are Christians. Some of us are also Pagan (Druid here), atheist, etc. I do celebrate both the Winter Solstice on the 21st and Christmas because well. Reasons. I apologize for the long list of info you really didn't need to know about me, but I hope that you had a Blessed Winter Solstice.
  15. Season's Greetings to all from the Raleigh Clan!
  16. The bathroom. Sorry for all the posts and tremendous amount of photos.
  17. My alt recently got a Victorian home when they were released so for we are decorating to get ideas for when hubby or I get one on our main accounts.
  18. I wasn't sure what I wanted for dinner tonight, but this just decided for me. I need to stop reading the forums when I'm hungry. Great suggestion! Thank you for the idea. 😊
  19. I forgot to add my favorite tradition that began six years ago...finding this tiny miss under the tree each year snuggling with the presents. She certainly is my most precious gift that is under that tree each year. ❤️
  20. My dad and I used to go caroling with our church. That was my all time favorite thing. If it was just him and I for dinner at home, my dad made homemade spaghetti and bread for dinner because it's one of my all time favorite meals. My dad has passed and I live on my own, but I still make his spaghetti and bread recipes every year. On Thanksgiving we would have a more traditional holiday meal.
  21. I'm weak, bruised and exhausted, but happy as always. I didn't have to go to hospital yesterday and now I'm safely tucked up in my warm bed resting, reading, drawing, knitting. So I'm thankful. Im also in a kind of "I really don't care what anyone thinks of me" kind of mood which isn't wholly unpleasant. Mostly, I'm just thankful for my loved ones and the unconditional love I get from them. Plus I keep thinking in less than two years, I'll be having all my future Christmases in rl with my sl hubby finally. That is the best thing of all. So overall, I'm thankful.
