  1. I assume it's mesh clothes that you want to layer, as applier clothes can easily be alpha'd using the mesh body HUD. I have a couple of approaches for that. First, I would try to wear a combination of a Maitreya-fitmesh garment and a fixed-sized (e.g. S/M/L) garment, and adjust my shape until there is no interference. If that's not possible and there is only a small poke-through, then I might make a patch for the outer garment. Make a little prim (maybe a flattened sphere), attach it to the appropriate body-part (e.g. the pelvis) so that its position will be fixed in relation to the outer garment. Resize it and move it into position covering the poke-through section, and tint it to match the colour. The pictures below show an example; it's not perfect, but certainly an improvement. You probably won't get either of those approaches to work for boots/pants though.
  2. The system shoe settings deform your feet into a shoe shape, complete with the platform and heel that you set. (Then, ugh, people used to texture/paint that to make it look like an actual shoe ...) Then you can add an alpha which makes the platform and heel invisible, so that your feet are floating above the ground, and you can cover them with mesh/sculpt shoes. Or add a full-body alpha and a mesh body, which also floats above the ground. Then, if you set a "hover height", it gives you even more height, regardless of what you are wearing.
  3. Hair: Alice Project Kara Necklace: C'est la Vie Cecily Top: Cynful Ness Shoes: KC Hedy Leggings: Pumpkin Cotton Head: Altamura Giselle (yes, the free full Bento/Omega one!) Bangles: Kerriki Osandra Body: Maitreya Lara Eyes: Omega with YS&YS Dream applier Skin: Wow Angy Makeup: Altamura Giselle All freebies except for the body and eyes!
  4. You could also wear non-Bento mesh hands.
  5. If you turn the breast size down to 0, you might get Maitreya-fit tops to work. However they are often shaded so might look a bit strange. You could also try standard-size male tops, with a bit of shape adjustment.
  6. You could have a look at the Selina bodies too: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/SelinA-Mesh-Body-Demo-v3-Pack/8134953
  7. I see the events list on the website is a lot cleaner now. No longer do we have to wade through piles of spam to find genuine events. Thanks Lindens!
  8. Oh, I just noticed the thread title! Is it an Evolution mesh body you are talking about? If so, then the previous information does not apply. Unfortunately minority mesh bodies do not have many clothes specifically designed for them. I wear the market-leader mesh body (we all know what that is) which has no shortage of clothes designed for it, but I often wear standard-size clothes which I fit by adjusting my shape and setting alpha cuts, which works very well in many cases.
  9. You should find the HUDs in your inventory, typically in the same folders as the items they control. Right-click each one, and Add.
  10. Clothes for classic bodies are traditionally supplied in a range of standard sizes like XS to XL, with a matching alpha layer to stop your flesh poking through the fabric, which is fine if you like to stick to a standard form. But there is also classic Fitmesh, which is designed to adapt to your body shape, and should fit all shapes and sizes.
  11. If your shoes don't come with an alpha layer, you can get a set of shoe alphas free at the Marketplace, which might contain something useful. But if you want to wear strappy shoes, normal alphas won't work. An old solution to that was to wear a full-foot alpha and shoes with built-in feet, but it was very hard to match skin tones with those. You can still find them floating around. The modern solution is to wear mesh feet, or a full mesh body, and shoes designed to fit them.
  12. Hmm, it looks like I was mistaken about making the alpha, as it seems an alpha layer on a system-body arm applies to both arms at once. Maybe somebody else could clarify that. However if you wear a mesh body, you can easily blank one lower arm using the body's HUD and un-wear the missing hand. Assuming you have the lower arm blanked out, you then you need to make the prim. Go to somewhere that you have building rights, like your own property or a sandbox. Right-click the ground and select Create. An edit window opens with a set of shapes at the top; click the sphere, then the ground, and a big sphere will appear. In the same edit window click the General tab and rename it to something like "arm stump" then right-click the sphere and select Take, and it will be taken into your inventory, into the Objects folder. Now you can go somewhere private if you like. Put yourself on a pose stand, to stop movement. Find the prim in your inventory, right-click it and Attach it to L or R Forearm. Now right-click it and click the Object tab and reduce it to a reasonable size, like 0.07 m all round. Then edit into position using the coloured arrows, and resize it and reposition it again and again until it looks right from all angles. Now click the texture tab in the edit window; click the Texture panel and set the texture to Blank, then click the Color panel and set the colour to match your body skin. It won't be easy to get a perfect match. That's just a simple and crude solution, but it might be enough for you. I don't know of any alternative.
  13. A simple and probably crude way would be to get/make an alpha for the lower arm and a flesh-coloured sphere prim attached to the lower arm. Crude in that it might be hard to match the flesh colour and get a satisfactory shape.
  14. If you adjust your forehead angle in your shape settings that might fix it.
  15. Linden homes provide a good opportunity to practice building, with simple things like dividing walls. You can get matching textures for your new walls in your estate's infohub (or whatever its name is).
  16. The first one would be a better option for SL, as it has a better graphics card.
  17. The description says: "Set comes with a modifiable shape, skin, alpha make-up, clothing, boots, eyes, lashes and accessories.". These are accessories for the system body. If you are looking for a mesh body, it is not included in this package.
  18. No, you must have the original textures from which your skin was produced, and no commercial skin-maker will release those.
  19. To apply an Omega skin you need to have both the Omega relay for Slink (bought from the Omega shop or Marketplace) and the skin's Omega applier attached, then just click the applier. I can't test the Slink demo right now as I'm typing this on my phone, but I would be surprised if it doesn't accept Omega skins. A Marketplace search should find both Wow Skins and Lumae, and links to their in-world shops.
  20. It should be easy to find skin packages which contain both a system skin (for your head) and an Omega applier which will work with Slink, if you have the Omega relay for Slink. I think all the main skin-makers produce them or at least still sell them. I have combined system/Omega skin packages from 7 Deadly, Wow, and Lumae. About making your own skin appliers, you would have to have the original textures to do that, which is extremely unlikely.
  21. The Jenny body+head combo is quite nice, and I look forward to seeing the production version, but what is even better is the astounding idea of having a head and body in one unit , just as in real life! Why is this not the norm in SL too? Maybe it is mainly that mesh bodies were already well established by the time mesh heads took off, and head-makers realised that people had made big financial and emotional investments in their bodies, which they were not going to just dump. As well as the fact that the head-makers and body-makers have been (with minor exceptions) different people with different skills. But for a newcomer surely it makes much more sense to avoid the clutter of huds and skin relays and conflicting default shapes, and get one mesh body unit that does everything. Another argument might be that people have strong preferences about their bodies, but I am not sure about that. There is not much difference between the mainstream "slim" bodies and between the mainstream "curvy" bodies, and I'm sure most of us could live with a choice between a standard slim and a standard curvy, as long as it responds well to shape settings. That would make the head and the HUDs nearly the only factors for most people in deciding between quality body packages, as those are the only things that people really do have strong preferences about. So, has the time come for all-in-one mesh body packages? If Altamura get this right, and make the body as compatible as possible with existing models, it could start a big trend.
  22. One of the first things I bought on the SL Marketplace was a dress with loads of good reviews (I didn't know about demos then ). It was actually quite nice, but when I went back to post a (positive) review I noticed that all of the ~20 reviews, all 5 stars, had been posted within a day or two of each other then nothing for the past year or more. It was obvious what was going on, so I left a one-star review mentioning all the fake 5-stars; I don't know if it survived.

With the system body you can get reasonably natural mature breasts, but of course the system body is ugly. But I have not found any mesh body (and I think I have tried them all) that let them hang down rather than out and up. That must be a gap in the market just waiting to be filled! So, if you're using the system body then it should be possible, by adjusting your shape. With a mesh body ... don't hold out any hopes.
  24. There's the 1,000 L$ bonus after 45 days as well.
  25. If you're looking for a cheap solution, you could sign up for premium membership (assuming you haven't already). I don't have the exact figures to hand, but annual membership works out at a net cost of only a few Euro/dollars a year, and you get a choice of ground-level house which you can furnish with your own stuff. Worth considering I think.
