  1. I'm trying to get this - "cat in loaf pan", will become "inbread cat"? (That's my best try!)
  2. My own idea for Rentals is to "encourange" payment through some "system" (for instance, some version of Caspervend now that it is owned / part of LL). If the user is "Kicked Off" a parcel before the end of the rental period, then the "rental system" would automatically refund the unused part of their Rent. If such a "rental system" were somewhat universal (yes, it may put other "rental system" companies at a disadvantage), then it could be made known "this owner uses XXX system, you WILL be refunded partial rent if for some reason your rental "lease" is "cancelled"). This could be made to apply even if the user in question "broke the covenant", etc.
  3. Because, any interaction between users in Second Life is automatically considered a dispute between Residents. It's really that simple. There are no "laws" that govern this. (I believe the TOS explicitly states that LL is not responsible.) What would you want, a "court" in Second Life to handle disputes between residents? Don't peeve the Landlord, they can do whatever they want.
  4. Thought experiment: Why isn't a "deny all EXCEPT Scripted Agents" feature provided? Why isn't a "deny all PIOF" feature provided?
  5. I am finally integrating / synthesizing the different issues with Mainland vs. Private Regions and the new functionality. Let me know if this sounds correct or if I am wrong in some ways. a) Since there are LSL functions that allow scanning from other parcels and other nearby regions, merely denying entry into a parcel will not prevent scripted agents from scanning data in a parcel. b) Unless the new "deny Region entry to Scripted Agents" feature also prevents Scripted Agents from using the same LSL functions from neighboring regions, denying entry to a Region would not prevent Scripted Agents from collecting data on mainland Regions with the new settings. c) The new "deny access to Scripted Agents" feature works for Private Regions because there is no way to scan / use the LSL functions that collect data from "Neighboring" Regions, because they are "Private". d) "Modified viewers" / "scraping" directly from viewers is completely outside of this new functionality, and in fact is completely irrelevant to Scripted Agents. e) The above a), b) and c) are PART of why "deny entry to Scripted Agents for Estates" only applies to Private Regions and the entirety of Bellisseria: denying entry would not prevent any data collection, at all. Bellisseria, being a collective of Regions as a "continent", assumedly does not include the possibility of using the LSL "scanning" functions from neighboring non-Belliseria Regions.

  7. So, maybe we need garlic necklaces to protect us from bot scanning since we can't deny bots access on our region parcels? Mainland bots are the new Bloodlines!
  8. So, if the site keeps asking if you want to allow or deny push notifications, that sounds like an issue with cookies imho.
  9. Each folder has its own HUD?! They need a way to suck up all those HUDs and use a single HUD. A "HUD Sucker Proxy", so to speak.
  10. ..just because bots know what time it is, doesn't mean they hacked your watch..
  11. Great idea! We can then make or get security devices that deal with (registered) Scripted Agents, even WITHOUT Parcel Level controls!!! Why does this sound like a new idea? I guess the focus on Estate and Parcel-level controls. Hard to tell what's on-topic, but it sure sounds related to the thread topic, to me!
  12. Does that end up auto-following them, like when you cam in closely? That (auto-follow) always confuses me when I don't expect it.
  13. I think, the fact the discussion has abated, means most on the Forum have moved beyond denial and anger, to some form of acceptance over the change. I can't speak for those "newcomers" to the Forum who apparently only care about this topic, but they are quiet too. Conclusion: The new Scripted Agent controls are a qualified success!!
  14. I've seen signs on a local daycare that said, "Save the 👻🐝"
  15. Forums are invented to discuss Love. The old Romans already did that in their forum 2000 years ago. Yep. And a funny thing happened on the way to the Forum. But this thread was just soooo very contentious, I am surprised it both a) lasted without being yeeted, and b) lasted long enough to get quiet before being yeeted.
  16. I see it is finally over 24 hours without a post in this thread. Maybe the discussion is dead finally, if not the thread.
  17. Okie dokie "Bob". 😁 I think that would be "Eggplant APPLE Baseball bat" (it would look like b o b kinda!)
  18. i don't listen to hyde much ( do drop some song recs) but l'arc enciel, mejibray, the gazette, dadaroma, and pentagon are my go to! In case you missed it, Hyde has several new groups in the last years including Vamps and "The Last Rockstars" (a "supergroup")
  19. Yes please! (Big L'arc~en~Ciel / Hyde fan)
