  1. When I first came to SL, the choices for black women were horrible. My entire first year I used a tan skin. I wasn't near as proficient as I am now in editing shapes either. I was often asked if I was Indian or Middle Eastern. No offense was taken or given. I've never been one to base my interactions with avatars on skin color. To me, it's just not important. As with everything else in SL, your experience may differ and to me, that's part of the wonder of SL.
  2. The Meshbody (Legacy) group actually have 3 full estates that they own so that's a big chuck of money.
  3. If you are just being yourself, it's not roleplaying IMO. You're still you regardless of what your avatar looks like. THAT is what matters. I do agree that trying to RP another race is entirely different. I see a lot of lovely white skins. I've played around with those looks and for me, it just feels odd. Even if I were to wear one on a regular basis, I'd still be the same old person underneath. One of my old avatars has always worn a white skin. I still didn't play as anyone other than me. Just wondered if it's alright for black people to use a white avatar or is that some sort of problem, too?
  4. Why would anyone care what anonymous people on the internet think? Frankly, no one's opinion aside from those you choose to ask should matter. Your (general your) opinion of me matters not. Not one bit. There are exactly 3 people on SL whose opinion matters to me.
  5. It's the media plug in for Second Life and all TPVs. Lots of threads over the years about it either not installing or giving a warning when being installed. Just white list it on your virus/malware programs.
  6. I'm taking bets on how long (if ever) it takes the OP to receive their Lindens.
  7. Men play as women, women play as men, black as white, white as black, black and white as Asian and everything else. Humans, non-humans...Honestly, who cares?
  8. The point I was making was...if the parcel is being rented by someone else, they may have set that parcel's group to allow access to those group members. If I create a new account, I immediately add them to my private group allowing them access to my parcel.which is group access only. NVM...I see you said you weren't renting out that parcel.
  9. Are you renting that parcel.out to someone else? I know when I rented on a.private estate, although the region itself was under the estate group, my parcel was set to my private group so I could log my other avatars in without them needing to join the land owners group.
  10. There's 82,000+ shapes under General. Wonder why they rated yours Moderate.
  11. Actually, looking at the downloaded manual, you CAN hide the lashes at the bottom of the lash page unless that was the older heads? Hide left or right or both. Not logged in so can't check.to be sure.
  12. Lashes only change or hide. The length can be adjusted, also as well as blend/mask.
  13. No, you can't sell most used items in SL. The permission of No Transfer on most products makes it impossible.
  14. Traffic is a numerical metric calculated for every parcel of land inworld. This score can be summarized as the cumulative minutes spent on the parcel by all visitors to the parcel within the previous day. (The value shown in About Land is based on data gathered from midnight to 11:59 PM, Pacific Time.) It is calculated by taking the total seconds spent on the parcel, dividing by 60, and rounding to the nearest whole minute. For example, if your parcel has a cumulative seconds total of 121s over the course of a day, the traffic score is 2. Traffic has a mild influence on the relevance of search results. It's one of many factors included in the search logic. To see the traffic score for a parcel, right-click on the ground in the parcel and choose About Land; or choose World > Place Profile > About Land. The General tab shows the traffic score for each parcel. Traffic is discussed in this Knowledge base article.
  15. Again, not once did it happen to me. If it's happening over and over and over again to someone, they need to change their behavior not the region owner.
  16. It's been like that since I've started and I've not once been banned from a region. If a notecard is offered explaining the rules of the region, I read it. If my avatar is inappropriate for the theme or not dressed in theme, I've received a friendly IM asking me to either change or leave. I leave. I don't argue with anyone over my supposed right to be somewhere. I simply tell them I was unaware of the rules. No whining, no arguing, no nothing. People are often asked if they want a LM or a notecard explaining the rules. Not the owner or LL's responsibility if they fail to read it. If one is continually banned from regions, my guess is it's them and not the region owners.
