  1. Both ToS and Terms of Service apply to all aspects of SL including the forums. Until recently, nudity was forbidden on the forums even in the adult section. What that means is...it is expressly allowed now in the forums so it overrides the ToS. Which all goes back to my original statement. Since there seems to be clauses in the ToS that are disregarded by LL and residents (because let's face it, without the sexual content, SL may have died years ago), they might as well remove them.
  2. From the Terms and Conditions intro... In the event of a conflict amongst the Agreements, the Terms of Service shall control except as expressly provided otherwise. All capitalized terms have the meanings set forth in the Terms of Service, unless otherwise stated.
  3. While they are basically legally the same dang thing, we agree to the ToS when logging in for the first time. They really ought to just combine the 2 and take out the clauses that they obviously don't actually enforce...at all...ever.
  4. You are quoting Terms and Conditions. I was quoting the Terms of Service (ToS) which is what Count was quoting in his post.
  5. I posted the part I was talking about from the ToS. It's linked right at the bottom.of this page so anyone can read it. The content guidelines also address sexually explicit content being disallowed. It's all over the place that it's not allowed yet it all.over the place in SL. So...we can have sexual content although technically not allowed ( but brings in people AND money) but not bots that basically scrap public info (they don't bring in people or money). See where I'm going with this?
  6. You should also check out the Content Guidelines which are linked at the bottom of the ToS. My point was...there are things in the ToS that are, in my opinion, blatantly disregarded by residents AND LL employees. We/They pick and choose what's allowed based on what impact it has on SL. Sex sells! Random bit of useless info posted on an obscure website doesn't. Which would you get rid of?
  7. It's under 6.1 of the LL ToS... Right above the 6.2 clause that Count posted. 6.1 You will not post or transmit prohibited Content, including any Content that is illegal, harassing or violates any person's rights. You agree that you will not: (i) Post, display, or transmit Content that violates any law or the rights of any third party, including without limitation Intellectual Property Rights. We reserve the right to request at any time proof of permissions in a form acceptable to us. Failure to provide such proof may lead to, among other things, removal of such Content from the Service; (ii) Impersonate any person or entity without their consent, or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation, or if you are an adult, impersonate a minor for the purpose of interacting with a minor using the Service; (iii) Stalk, harass, or engage in any sexual, suggestive, lewd, lascivious, or otherwise inappropriate conduct with minors on the Service; (iv) Post, display, or transmit Content (including any communication(s) with employees of Linden Lab) that is harmful, threatening or harassing, defamatory, libelous, false, inaccurate, misleading, or invades another person's privacy; (v) Post, display, or transmit Content that is obscene, hateful, involves terrorism, or is racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable; or (vi) Post, display or transmit any Content or conduct or host any activity that is sexually explicit, or intensely violent. Any violation by you of the terms of this Section may result in immediate termination of your Accounts without any refund or other compensation.
  8. Just since you're the one quoting the ToS, I found this tidbit interesting and if enforced, would leave quite a large group of SL residents also open to ARs. I suppose we can allow LL to pick and choose which parts of the ToS we feel should be enforced based on our own preferences. (vi) Post, display or transmit any Content or conduct or host any activity that is sexually explicit, or intensely violent.
  9. I've seen screenshots of people's profiles on various sites such as Twitter, Flickr and VS. I do agree the website that linked the avatar with their profile without having to log into SL was a bit icky but...who would even bother looking at profiles of NON-human entities? There was nothing to link that information to any RL identities or information. Who aside from anyone already a member of SL would even care to look or know anything about that website? The main way people found out about it was...wait for it... ON the forums

    SIM RATING

Maturity ratings New regions are delivered with a default maturity rating of Moderate. You can customize this using the Region/Estate tools: From the Viewer menus, go to World > Place Profile > Region/Estate. Click the Region tab. From the Rating dropdown, select either or Adult. Click Apply.
  11. And this is why I stated previously that the only thing LL should do is warn newcomers that any info they CHOOSE to put on their profile is viewable to everyone anywhere. If one is not wise enough to understand personal safety, perhaps the internet isn't a place they should be let alone SL.
  12. Security of what? There is NO personal information in your profile that could directly link back to AN ACTUAL HUMAN BEING unless you, yourself, put it there.
  13. As these gateways are approved by LL, they should be held to a different standard than the run of the mill private estate. These places are a first impression some people have of SL and one would think THAT would matter to LL.
  14. Ctrl+Z Undo Ctrl+X Cut Ctrl+C Copy Ctrl+V Paste Ctrl+Y Redo Del Delete object or delete character forward Ctrl+A Select All Ctrl+E Deselect Ctrl+D Duplicate Ctrl+S Save notecard/script.
  15. Lolas were a mesh breast add on people used before mesh bodies came out.
  16. Well, as far as I'm concerned, nothing in my profile will point anyone to my RL whether read inworld or on the web by random people. Have at it. Perhaps people should take responsibility for their own actions and stop expecting ever other entity to do so. Don't want people to know, don't put it on the internet...anywhere. Internet safety 101 and as adults, you should all know this. LL seems to protect your RL information perfectly fine since I'm sure we'd hear an uproar if they didn't. My avatar is secure. She disappears every day when I log off. Her profile is generic. If anything, all LL needs to do is post a warning on profile when new residents emerge that says...anything written on your profile is available to anyone to read. Fair warning. Don't be an idiot.
  17. THIS^^^ So, until that happens, if it ever does, the only way to keep your not so personal information private and not obtainable by random bots is to NOT log in.
  18. As you can see, I've barely had any coffee so it's more of a blank stare. 😐
  19. Women have been doing that since I started in 2009. 😁
  20. It went to Commerce Linden. As @LittleMe Jewellsaid above, file a support ticket and include your transaction info.
