  1. There may be various reasons for people retiring early though, health issues for example - it's not uncommon for people who work physical jobs get worn out in their limbs to the point that they can no longer perform their tasks.
  2. And on that note. Pet peeve: when you return and the welcome home committee has gone lost at Blake Sea. Huffs.
  3. That's not a proper car, that's a fancy hairdryer.
  4. I've now had a bit of water, and I just finished dinner - so I'm now ready to get back on the ball! Though as I have a train to catch in the morning, I figure I'd perhaps best stay off the liquor. If Yule gets to be anything like usual, there'll be plenty of that anyway!
  5. Peeve: when you bite into a biscuit and the way it cracks, a sharp bit jabs into your gums. It's now sore and swollen where it struck, and I can't stop prodding at it with my tongue even though it hurts to do so.
  6. My cars are all black, as God* intended. *Henry Ford, the deity of automobiles, assembly lines, and 5-day work weeks.
  7. Some people also opt not to show up in search (in the privacy settings) to avoid stalkers, or to avoid harassment from people making alts.
  8. Peeve: Going to bed 'early' (i.e. 2 a.m.) only to wake up 40 minutes later and thinking the light in the window is dawn - nope, just a light post. Oh well. Guess that's my sleep for tonight!
  9. Oh, oh! I found one actually. For @Rat Luv!
  10. Meh, scoured my Spotify playlists, don't really find anything that's particularly 'nice' or 'cheery'. But, for all you vanity-thread-goers out there, there's this ... I like Kraftwerk's original, too, but ... I mean, Rammstein.
  11. So how does this work, does one have to do a ritual to summon Maddy, or does one simply ping her ..? Summoning never was my strong suit, it usually just ends up like doing a trans-dimensional somersault. The excitement of thinking it meant it worked, but then you realise all you achieved was to transport yourself 2' to appear in the circle yourself. Such a waste of a good sacrif-- Candle. Such waste of good candles. Apparently, I'm bored!
  12. What's worst is, most of the 'specular maps' on things tend to look a little something like this: Like, how about 'if you don't know what specular textures are, don't put them on your stuff'?
  13. Treated myself to a new car today, and went on new adventures. Ish. Whilst I had tested the car quite extensively at the shop, I wasn't sure how it was going to handle sim crossings 'in the wild', but it turned out to work out rather nicely. There was however a minor incident when I went ahead to try driving in Mouselook (unlike my other vehicles which all still steer with the keyboard in mouselook, this one is made to actually steer and accelerate with the mouse) - as I approached a rather tight corner, I decided to do a nice little drift-turn, which would be Shift + D; unfortunately I had forgotten I had a pistol on my belt, with its gestures active, where Shift + D = 'Draw', so instead of turning, I suddenly had a gun in my hand, and as I veered the mouse and hit the mouse button, I accidentally put 3 bullets into some poor sod's garage. Whoopsie - an accidental drive-by! I decided to stick to third person view (and made sure to deactivate the gestures) before continuing, deciding to go north along route 4 as I've gone the other way a fair bit recently. Everything was pretty much smooth sailing, and I made it all the way around along routes 3, 2, and 1, before reaching Calleta, where I parked for a bit to stretch my legs and have a looksee before continuing. On the way back I discovered that my car did not enjoy the way the atoll bridge (not sure if it has a proper name) goes up and down like a heart rate monitor of a rodent (a mole, possibly?), it got stuck a few times - I'll have to see if I can tinker a bit with the script to make the ride smoother (I think the gravity is fairly high at the moment). Once on dry land, getting back to my starting point through route 5 was easy business. The absolutely best part about it all though, was the sound. She purrs that way only an old gas-guzzling muscle-car do, and on low speeds there's even some tyre on asphalt action going on - and when you put the petal down, she roars like a beastie. And, of course, she's pretty. And there's cruise control, which is one feature I sorely miss in my other 'fun-car'. Going a few blocks around the house for fun works, but if you're going around a continent, holding down W gets tiring!
  14. You can achieve an even more petite look with some deformers, as well as adjust the shoulder shape if you prefer a more 'sleek' appearance. Neph uses one for a 'flatter' (rather, 'concave') belly, one that brings her shoulders down a little (I don't much like the 'bicycle handlebar' look), one that brings her shoulders in a little (shoulder width, without causing her torso to squish), one for a flatter posterior (Maitreya's is quite curved, even with a 0 on the size slider), and one to bring the thighs apart a little (to avoid clipping mostly, it does add a little bit towards her pear-shape, but the inner thighs sticking out in such a way that they clip almost constantly is my second least feature of the body - after the shoulders' design in the rear of the armpit). She also has deformers to give her a 'push-up' look for when wearing tight lacing (because I'm too lazy to go edit the shape to get that look whenever I'm trying on clothes or putting together an outfit!). It's a bit of an investment, but works as a great complement to the body if that's the kind of look you want to go for (there are of course deformers that take things in the entirely opposite direction, if you'd rather have a torpedo-butt or a 'thicc' look).
  15. Today, I'm breaking my speeding ticket records. L$104 so far! Granted, I'm cheating and using a sports car rather than my usual truck - but still!
  16. To @Cindy Evanier (strobe light warning for the video!):
