Something the LL engineers have been working on to fix can repro this in part in some cases. For example: find a group owned land which is set to rez for group only. Be a member of that group. Dont wear your group tag. Drag drop the no-copy item onto the land. Poof! the item is gone and is not returned is other circumstances as well where can repro the loss of no-copy items, but I not get into them is not a copybot tho. or a scam either, when the sim borks like this

  4. i have a plan in the event of my death (like me not ever logging in to my computer ever again. which is virtually pretty much the same thing) , my computer will run the in memorium proggy I made. It will log my virtual online self in to all the worlds and forums on the list i will be a bot. a ghostey bot that wll random go: !!! whhooooohhhh !!! and then ran away (:

  6. i think that many of the things we cant do in normal LSL (basically bc greifing) we could do in Experiences LSL ones I think will make games/experiences more immersive are, with some use examples: 1) rotate avatar. can keep a running/escaping/pursuing avatar in a pathway 2) allow/stop movement style. user can/cant override: fly, jump, run, walk, or click teleport / move 3) force mouselook/normallook 4) allow/disallow communication window in mouselook 5) force sit object/ground. capture 6) force rotate and push on unsit. On unsit can "fire" avatar in a direction. Soft for furniture. Harder for catapult 7) freeze avatar for some time. for capture/death + to answer Qie. Can a experience force sit avatar on a sequence of objects? Yes imo + i also think that while some considerations can be given to normal LSL, I think that Experiences LSL should be treated as a whole separate thing, and as much as possible be allowed bc LL enforcers can kill a Experience anytime they have to, and land owner can kill it also

Make a viewer mod specifically for the game ideally you want to refactor the viewer to make a plugin system for it. So can add other inbuilt functions, like huds, movements, windlights, etc for a specific game quite a few people have had a look at doing this. but is a lot of work. So not much ever came of it. For public release anyways some people tho have homebrews for own use that can do some of these things + is possible that can make RLV do this. With some other own mods as well + as for why not. I think LL never gave us llRotateAvatar bc cheaters. Being able to turn (and move) avatar can mean automated shooters
  8. even with box within a box then you still have to get the contents from the box into inventory with GiveInventory/List is no way round not using GiveInventory/List unless manually Open the box and Copy to Inventory. So still have to deal with the time delay, no matter how is scripted
  9. i had a go in a shop on recommended settings for my GTX660 then in same view: 11 jelly babies 5 not jelly babies FPS 44 about change to No Limit FPS 23 about eta: screen 1920x1080. 60hz + dunno that I am much interested in jellybabies tho. Is a bit uninteresting to look at, being mostly all jelly babies so I think I will mostly stick wiht the No Limit and less FPS, unless is about 40+ avatars in the scene I think. bc at 23FPS I can still cam and move ok altho if a person has a older card/computer than me then will be pretty good for them I think

  11. yes true about SL, the platform is restrictive in what it can do. bc of the design but if SL was to do totally and seamlessly what you envisage then it would need to be on a differently designed platform yes. one that is designed to allow portals. so make a different designed platform, with portals, that can do this. so make Sansar, which is designed to have seamless portals + also, just about SL and how you can do this with the Experience tools example make a building facade on one sim, with entrance and corridors to rooms when walk in the door to a room then it "portal" you to another sim, where the room is. and vice versa. Exit the room door and portal back to the corridor on other sim is not quite seamless this as a specific built platform, but the effect is the same + eta. Some TPV allow to turn off the Teleport black screen. So that can help as well to keep the immersion/contiguous effect going
  12. the time delay is to stop greifing. Is why we cant have nice things sometimes. greifers if is no time delay then greifer can just flood the person. and the viewer can lock up bc flood. So not able to delete the box and stop the flooding flooding by give the same item over and over and over so just have to take the time delay into account when making your giver + about the folders in contents yes I would like that as well + about why not folders i think the design allows this already. Just not folders. The design is boxes within boxes. Like you mention earlier rez the top box. then script rez the box(s) in contents, then script rez the box(s) in them, and so on

  14. you mean like everyone should have to buy a Premium before they can log in ?? or if not Premium (so can buy own land) then they must rent a home space off someone else who does own land ?? this last (must rent) be quite a good idea for private landlords + if LL ever did what you want then you will have your parcel all to yourself. Like you do now seems like bc if the only people who are allowed in are those who do have regular money to pay Premium and/or tiers then what would people need you for? they can buy their own mainland, or go and rent on the estates where the convenants are able to be enforced, or get a red heart style (more space for same prims) mainland sky rental + renters of small parcels are itinarents pretty much. Meaning they dont have regular money sometimes they have and sometimes they dont. When they got it then they spend it. When they dont got it, then they make do. And they make choices like 250L for this rental, or 250L for this shoes ?? Is not 250L for rental and 250L for shoes. Is 250L and pick one most successful small parcel rental barons know this already tho. So they factor it in to their business plans + is ok that you have a rant and a spit even about that your dreams and ambitions never paid off.   16. just add some more to the mix + is maybe worth considering that Sansar dont use FBX that Sansar has a custom internal format that it uses. (SL has a custom format as well) and what LL have done is write a Maya plugin that exports to this Sansar format and then in the Beta stage LL will write similar Sansar plugin exporters for other design tools + am pretty sure this is what LL have done as it makes no sense at all for LL (or anyone) to use FBX as a internal format, or to write a FBX translator/importer when can more easy and with more control over the outcome, just write a Maya to Sansar plugin exporter FBX being a closed spec. Autodesk having never released the FBX specs formally + also as well if think about texturing tools like Gimp, Photoshop, etc. Animation, sound and vid proggys LL could write plugins for them as well. So they all export natively to the Sansar format, where in some cases depending on datatype the Sansar is a wrapper/container round them a Sansar file format type that encompass all types of content in this field, is a mass market leader thing. If do it right then it becomes widely known [and used] + eta add is already been a lot of chat from all the vendors in the VR field. both hardware and softwar makers. Chat about that there should be a standard for data exchange between them all i think that nobody is going to wait for the international bodies to determine this. I think that companies like LL are just going to make a own standard that works for them. And that they will open spec it and just run with it
  17. somewhere in this forum way down in a post, Dora posted a code solution which I think will help solve your problem the solution was rotating a child prim on a attachment to track the camera. So that the prim/emitter is always pointing at what the camera/avatar is looking at. In both mouselook and normal view modes i just cant find it in the search at the mo. but is defo on here somewheres
  18. yes about Blender. and anything else really. We have to put the time into anything to get good returns. So I am agree about that + just about who does know, when it comes to making tools in this field the person who knows is the person who can do quaternion math in their head. Is not many people who can do this designers, modellers, programmers, etc are all important. But they not as important as this person + what defeats most attempts at building 3D tools, is that the tool builder cant do the math in their head, as easy as they can do times tables so they have to do it the hard way. like with pencil and paper. Which takes lots of time to do can get a math program/calculator that can do this, but if dont know how to work out what is the answer ourself then the calculator is not much use at all really so if ever do find a person who can do quaternion math in their head then dont let them run away + what makes this person most important, more than every one else, is that they can tell us immediately if it is actually possible to make a function/feature in our toolset to do what it is we might want it to do they dont have to be a modeller or programmer even. If there is no way to express the problem and answer in math then no computer will ever be able to do it. At all. ever and this person can tell us this. before we spend any time ourself on trying to do the impossible + eta add not every problem for which there is a answer can be expressed in math. So theres that as well
  19. i dunno really what is the point you are making anymore other than it seems that everybody who makes 3D design engines, tools and scene viewers dont seem to know what they doing. Daz, Unity, Unreal, LL, Autodesk, etc can say tho that there is not one software package to rule them all. So maybe thats the challenge for yourself (and your team that you mentioned one other time). to make that + Google had a go at it. Microsoft and Sony and Apple as well. FB getting in on it as well. NVidia, AMD been in it for a long time as well. And none of them have got that one software design tool to rule all complex 3D objects, that anybody can just pick up and start being creative with is not from lack of trying tho, millions of people over the years have had a go. And a zillion indies on GitHub as well have had a go. They cant all not know what they doing. So must be something else + can say that Blender is the one. But it isnt. The Blender UI all by itself, defeats heaps of non-professional amateur wouldbe designers/modellers. Probably more than pretty much all other 3D toolsets combined. Mostly bc Blender is the first goto tool for amateurs
  20. just say that LL have said quite a number of times now that there will be inworld building tools for us the ordinary users when it does open to the public is actual no point. None at all that makes any sense. For LL to make just another engine/platform to publish games/experiences on UGC at the level of individual customers, is all LL has going for it. Is its only business experience advantage that LL has over other companies/providers in the market space + for sure LL may make the new platform in a way where they can off-source individual customers support to partners. But those partners customers will want UGC tools of some kind, for at a minimum, mounting and modding

They are actual stages in the dev cycle. Fast iteration cycles can give the impression that engines/platforms always seems to be never stationary. Is the non-stationary nature of fast iterations that can give the end-user this impression, that things are always in alpha/beta + on the 3rd at the stage that the project is at, is not about what sells. Is about what works technically what sells should have already have been worked out. In the design stage which comes before any coding work what sells from a business design pov, isnt about what we the end-users will sell to each other. Is about we the end-users will buy off the platform owner if LL havent already worked out in the design phase what it is they are selling before they start coding/building then they in big trouble. Which I dont think they are. Ebbe has been pretty clear about what he envisage for LL in what he said so far. What they have designed for the company + when Ebbe said stuff earlier like umm! dunno about that dunno about this. when we asked him questions. He was referring to the technical aspects (like can/will it actually work technically). So dunno. We only just finding that out ourself, by actual code it, is what he was meaning is my understanding this of how these kinda guys speak. based on sitting in lots and lots of meetings in the RL, and reading lots and lots of tech docs, design specs and funding proposals, for about 4 years now
