  1. i just add some more thoughts on this. Never know LL might read it (: + suppose we did take the idea of identity naming further identity I think is quite important on a platform of non-contiguous worlds. Which I think is what LL intend with Sansar that there will be many worlds in a galaxy of worlds. The galaxy is the platform (Sansar) maintain by LL. The currency of the galaxy is L$ maintained by LL. The inventory/content of the galaxy is maintained by LL also the worlds are owned by others. The worlds recruit their own residents/citizens, either from within the population that comes in on the LL boat, or from their own boats (web signup pages) + suppose there was a world and it was called Caledon for example and when I join Caledon then thru out the galaxy whereever I go then I am known on my profile as: irihapeti@Caledon. Or Eve Apple@Eden, or whichever I am it would give me (and every other Caledonian, Edenite, etc) a sense of belonging. Not only of who we are but also where we are from it also helps answer a practical question. How can people have the same name: I am the only irihapeti in Caledon. But only one of the many possible irihapeti in the galaxy. I am not irihapeti@Eden for example

Not a frolic and not to be dismissed as a game not only bc for quite a lot it is a RL income for them, which is serious in the same way as any other RL income deriving activity is, but also for others the personal relationships they have with other people are also serious. As serious as every other relationships they have + for myself I do see it as a game. A game of adventure and discovery. but this dont negate how others see it. Nor does it permit me to impose my view on others I like what you said here. I simply see SL as part of my life. It's a place where I can socialize with other people and as a Virtual World it also affords me the ability to express things that might be more difficult to do in the 'real world.' I recognise that it has limits. But so do the various social situations we find ourselves in as we go about our daily lives. Perhaps Shakespeare said it best, "All the world is a stage......" It is an place where we can play games if we want but that does not of itself make SL a game. going off what Maddy said before also and you Perrie now. And also about Shakepeare saying that all the world is a stage Shakespeare i think views the world as a stage bc one, playwright. and two as a playwright he chronicles RL behaviour. In a way where these behaviours can be examined, explored and presented in a no harm way + i think that we do this also in our own lives we mostly present ourself as best we can in a no harm way. And sometimes we do this more easy by seeing ourself as a actor on the stage. So that if we do fall and get hurt then we can say to ourself that it dont matter. bc in this hurtful situation is only a play. a act. a stage. a game and also as well. when we are thoughtless and harmful to others then bc of this we can tell ourself that we didnt mean it. It was only a play. a act. a stage. a game. and we was only playing
  3. i dont see why not if people want to do that when they go over if we get a option to do this then I dont see why not is a bit like emigrating from the Old World to the New World in the RL. Same person, same name, same age., same identity. even if when emigrating some fewer numbers of people choose to create a whole new other identity for themself. Most people dont tho. Same person, same identify. Only thing that changes is their location
  4. from what I understand/read so far Ebbe Linden has said that the way it will work is that the name of our main account will be our email address. Our master account. This account name wont be public to other users. Is secret to us and LL on login we will have inworld profiles, one or more as we like. We pick the one we want to use from a list. Create new and remove/delete old profiles also as we like our inworld profile names will be public (and each will have its own UUID) mappable by LL back to our main account. But not mappable by other users thru our profiles we will have access to our main account L$ balance and inventory to maintain privacy when we spend L$ to buy stuff or buy/rent land then the transaction will use the name/uuid of the profile we are inworld on + is presumed (guess) that our current SL names will be one of these profile names. Unique to us is also presumed (guess) that any new profile we create will be like Displaynames. Can have any type name style we like + examples of how it might work (guess) account name: youraccount @ youremail . provider profile1: NekoDatingService (ported from SL) profile2: Neko Dating Service (created by you on Sansar)
  5. and double points for cynicism triple for world weariness and quads for playing even

Speaking of stereotypes: As long as someone doesn't tell you who they are, you can't really apply any stereotype that is based on real life, without risiking to be way off the mark. Form your style of writing, I would now think you are young and that might be wrong. Maybe you just love shortcuts and hate to use a point to end your sentence. about the first yes. i was just try be polite about the guys. Online It typically goes: them: hi me: hi them: asl?? in the RL it just goes: AL? how old are you. where you from. Is pretty standard questions these when at parties and clubbing + about the second yes also we project our own experiences onto others to fill in the blanks. Is nothing wrong with this. bc we got nothing else to go on in lots of cases. so is a pretty reasonable thing to do I think. I been online long enough now to not much care anymore what others might project onto me. Most dont over-project. Some do. Some guess. Some dont. Some dont care either

  10. if your friends friends account got closed then something the friend did while logged in has to have breached Section 4.2 (para 3) of the ToS www.lindenlab.com/tos + as far as your own logging in on your own friends account then is nothing against this in the ToS suggest tho that you dont do anything other than editing like dont buy any stuff. Dont buy or sell L$. Dont remove or add your friend to any groups. Dont sell, buy, abandon parcels. Dont transfer stuff to your own account, etc + and dont play on the account like go places and interact with other people on that account in your friends friends case I am pretty sure they did something, like played on it (as the friend) would be my guess. Which is what would have triggered the ToS breach I think

On the other hand, I know how to Google, so I am almost 'with it' whats pretty interresting is that most of the acronyms used today online, were invented by todays old people back in the day when they were young has been some new ones added for sure since. but most of them have been round since forever
  13. Syo Emerald wrote: Ah, the wonderful world of stereotypes and the idea, that you can magically know whos behind the keyboard. yes is not magic tho. is what we do work from stereotypes that fit our own views and behaviours based on our previous experiences. Until our new experiences (if it ever reaches that point) with the person we have stereotyped changes our views when this happens then we add these to our stereotypical views and project them onto the next stranger we meet quite often we dont accept that we do this, bc we are nice person. We do tho. We just dont accept that we do
  14. Derek Torvalar wrote: irihapeti wrote: one work of fiction deserves another "Fatboy and the Dancing Ladies" by Michael Holman Fiction? Maybe you should read it first. and maybe you should understand what it is you are reading + Samantha King believes that a cure-oriented approach to health is foolish. She further believes that Ribbon-style fund-raising is geared toward the cure-oriented approach. That monies fund-raised to expend on cures is wasteful, her meaning is that it accomplishes little if anything she further believes that monies raised thru Ribbon-style should be spent on environmental health and social inequalities educative preventions and activisms + from this then: what exactly then is the taxpayers money, already given, spent on if not education, preventions, and subsequent treatments when necessary why would extra money raised (over and above this and voluntarily given) be also directed at prevention education ? if there is insufficient public taxpayers money (or if is currently being misspent) then would that not be where to begin. For a actual activist into preventative education, rather than belittle and undermine others for chasing cures

  16. younger people are more into the actual self of another person than a representation of the other person that they themselfs are representing even in RL situations. Representing in ways which are not always true (like at clubs, bars, etc) is a understanding that only comes from experience older people of which there are many in SL already have this experience. so is not as much a biggie for them + sometimes I get asked inworld: ASL? I just answer and not think much of it is pretty much a younger person who will ask this tho. Older people dont bother to ask this at all hardly ever. bc of their life experience + also as well lots of older people who get asked this will politely disengage from any further convo with the person one, bc they kinda know that is a young person, which for many older people in social settings is not something they feel comfortable with. Knowing that a social convo can easy turn intimate and two, if is not a young person who does ask ASL then is a older person who maybe isnt very mature. which is not someone, older people do want to engage socially with. Not without the drama that older, yet socially immature, people tend towards engaging in basically. ASL is a big warning sign pretty much. For older people anyways

  18. as a once famous fashionista once said famously: bc I can darling! in answer to the question: why ever would you wear 140 prim eyelashes + is nothing new this. just bc mesh. olden days bling jewellery for instance and am not sure that it matters at all that much jelly babies is quite a good approach I think for the widest number of people, in terms of vid cards timing out and the viewer shutting down you are sooo derendered !! tho gets a slightly bored meh ! whatevs. pretty much every time + can remember some fashion events where they tried enforcing caps and booted people who exceed them. Nobody went bc fashion event + fashionistas != low rez. And others who might of went never bothered bc they heard thru the fashion groups about the caps the shop keepers spit the dummy about that. No shoppers at a fashion event is not what they paid the event fees for fashionista would rather get lagged to death than go low rez when cant move at a event bc lag then fashionista cam shops
  19. the question then is: what do you think is the amount your business should pay to use the RFL logo to associate your business in the minds of your customers with an act of charity? + as for your posit question: Are Charities Businesses? no they not but they are a brand a brand in this case which is well-recognised and respected and stimulates a lot of goodwill toward businesses that are assoiciated in the minds of customers with the brand is how it works. For the charity, the businesses. And the customers who typically end up buying stuff that they would not necessarily have ever bought otherwise like last Christmas. I buy this teddy bear at a charity do. He is ugly. Ugly to me. Other people think he was adorable. I would never of bought it tho if it hadnt of been a charity do
  20. create a Support Ticket and ask the worst that can happen is they say No + technically is possible for a name to be changed. Is just that it has to be done manually by a staff member. So LL usually say No. bc is not a service they generally offer still. cant hurt to ask. Never know. They might do it is not like you asking for a whole name change. Just a capitalization which dont change anything substantial + and if some anonymous support person goes sorry! no can do. then can get on Twitter and miau to Ebbe Linden like: please please Ebbeeee!!!! pleassse! I Berry much want this. pllllleeeeeassse! miau! miau!! and he might go: oh! give that kitten what it wants somebody for goodness sake !!! and if so then you go: tnks(: you the best ever Ebbe like evah !! muwaaaah!! (: might work. dunno. but I would give it go. bc ya never know until you ask
  21. is expected behaviour i think the bounding box faces the same direction as the avatar in mouselook mode then the avatar slaves to face the same direction as the avatar camera when the camera points up then the avatar slaves up (even tho it visually doesnt bc it will break animation) and the bounding box follows it do the same in 2.5 view (normal mode) as well. Is just not noticeable bc of the fixed position of the camera in this mode

  23. new attack vector on Linden Realms ran into a new attack vector on Linden Realms today, that I not seen on there before the brash-style kicker is back the attack is: use the brash kicker in automode to continuous bump the target avatar so that the target exceeds the max. speed. Exceed the max. speed and the puffer protectors will teleport the target home. So the attacker gets the sim (crystals) to themself a disadvantage of the standard brash-style attack is that the attacker can go zooming off as well, when the hit is not square on, and the puffers get the attacker also the new attack vector is that there is a delay in the puffer appearing and then taking action so the attacker keeps auto-slamming the target until the puffers appear, and then when they can see a puffer on them, then they map teleport to another sim on the same arena the target who dont map teleport also (and most people dont know to do this) get teleported home. The attacker then map teleports back to the sim (which they can do) and has it all to them self seen this today happening on LR 168 + the fix to render brash-style attacks useless on the Linden Realms is for the puffers to not delay. Just deal insta-death the attackers will give up using brash-style when they always get killed by the puffers
  24. you get the 1000L sign up bonus after 45 days next Tuesday and every Tuesday after that you will get the 300L weekly stipend + the 45 days wait is a hold over from the olden days when it used to take payment processors that long to actual give LL (and pretty much every other online merchant) your money
