  1. "Wednesday September 4th"?! Whoever does it can't even read a calendar... :matte-motes-tongue:
  2. It's better pay than the best camping pay I ever came across, which was 3L per 10 minutes, and camping was a very popular way of getting a few L$. So, if it's just being in a place, without having to do anything at all, or even be at the keyboard, it's good pay when compared to camping. Barely, but yes. Still, camping is one of the most stupid things I've seen in SL. Wouldn't people do something enjoyable instead? The best way of getting L$ is buying them. I find it very hard to believe that someone who has a computer and an internet connection can't spend a couple bucks once in a while to have SL money.
  3. One hour of your precious SL time for L$20?! Even if all you have to do is stand there, think: it is 60 minutes taken away from you and what you enjoy, just for a miserable L$20.
  4. As for moving the gaming to one area...all I can say is YAY. Can't tell you how many have complained about not being able to get to the home and land they paid for because of a gaming area set up on the same sim filling it up. At least the policy will stop that from happening. Yes. YAY^10! Gaming has only messed up mainland, and I'm so glad it's not going to be allowed in it anymore.
  5. For example: the scripts expect that the avatar uses the stand button to get up. What is if someone TP's out, logs out crashes gets separated from the vehicle on a sim crossing? That's totally not the case. Also, concerning my cats (or boats) it is intermitent. When I cuddle a cat and I don't get the pose, I know I am going to get the error when dropping it. But, as I wrote quite a few times here, it is intermitent and started happening recently — and I'm not the only one experiencing the issue. There is an extra check needed which many scripts seem not to do. Yes, I believe you're right. The firestorm setting is one of the special cases too. Again, totally not the case, since I have all revoke permissions options disabled. Animation not found? Never got that problem but I usually am not on laggy sims. I doubt that this is a timing problem though. I spend most of my time at mainland sims, which sometimes can be laggy, as you know. About the timing idea, I don't have the knowledge to disagree or agree with you, so I'm keeping that as an open option.
  6. Geez, you guys went too tech for me here... :matte-motes-tongue: Anyway, the scripts errors seem to happen kinda randomly. In the case of KittyCats, I get a script error when dropping them because the animation had not been started. The same happens with boats, sometimes. And some other times, animations can't be started because they could not be found by the script — but they are there. From my non tech opinion, it seems to be a timing thing... The servers not responding in due time to trigger the animation? The issues are intermitent.
  7. [...] To build an entire SIM with "take copy" enabled would be a huge mistake and undertaking and would have required the BUilder to set it. [...] I don't know much about how copybots work, but I can tell you that I run a few sims offline on my own computer, using OpenSim software, and copying or restoring a whole region and all its contents requires only a simple command. Still, I don't think it would be possible to upload a full region to SL and all its contents just like that, besides the costs of it all... Unless there is a hole in the system — must be an huge hole, then.
  8. Thanks again Ayesha. :matte-motes-smile: [EDIT] 14396 does exist and was closed.
  9. [...] FIRE-14394, FIRE-14396 and an associated Linden BUG [...] Can you please post here the links to the JIRA's? Thanks!
  10. Hmmm... Isn't Project Interesting a shiny? I think the Lab did a great job with it, really, and I keep getting amazed with the viewer's perfomance — Firestorm, that is — loading scenes. Also, what's the point of getting new shinies if existing bugs are not fixed?
  11. Go to World / Photo and Video / Phototools and click on the Aids tab and then on Set Window Viewer Size — there you can get, maybe, the best fitting for your screen. :smileyhappy:
  12. Not that I have that issue, but thanks for posting it, anyway. :matte-motes-asleep-2: [uPDATE] Some more about it at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2982791
  13. So I consider that as a bug. It can be a race condition. The scripter assumes that things happen in a specific order rather than making sure things work. You can get away with that, but not always and if SL changes this scripts can break completely. That makes sense to me, but what do I know? :smileywink: Still, it's kinda weird that some of the most important boats builders in SL could be so sloppy — not to mention other creators. Anyway, I just get the errors but the items seem to keep working OK. In the case of the cats, just as a precaution, I take them into inventory and rez them again, to reset the scripts. The boats seem to recover themselves, and many times when changing position again the error doesn't happen.
  14. Recently I have noticed in some regions that AO (ZHAO) stops working and there are lots of script errors coming from it. I have changed absolutely nothing in the AO. Not very common problem but it exists anyway - recently. I have noticed that detaching and re-attaching the AO usually fixes things. Sometimes I need to TP to different region to get the AO working again. Yes, that seems to be a common problem around SL. A friend of mine complains that her Vista AO stopped working completely. I don't have AO related issues because I use the Firestorm built-in one.
  15. If a script throws that error it tries to end your sitting animation after you got up but doesn't have the permission to do so. The script should check that permission but it obviously doesnt. In the past you could get away with that but there is - for example - that firestorm setting "revoke permissions on stand". If that setting works as promised it will trigger that error on careless scripts. Yes, but "revoke permissions on stand" doesn't explain the "animation not found" error that occurs once in a while, too. It seems to be rather a perfomance issue.
  16. From what a friendly top designer told me, the server code was changed and caused many (MANY) problems that will need to be fixed. I found this out when I reported a seat that had worked perfectly before gave missing animation messages. If I remember correctly it has something to do with the sit target but since I only use the most basic 2006 sit scripts LOL, it doesn't really effect me. Right. I suspected something like that, since it started to happen all of a sudden and there hasn't been any changes on my side.
  17. Hmm. That's a pretty common error anyway. Are you sure it hasn't always happened when Dropping that particular item? Yes, I am sure — it happens with both my cats, with all my boats and some chairs, but it's intermitent. I suppose it's possible that something has changed in the retention of permissions by scripts when detached. It wouldn't be a viewer-specific thing. Those are sim-side errors, usually generated by buggy scripts. Or the sim running slow/having hiccups? But it happens to me in many different regions (e.g. when sailing.)
  18. For a bit more than 2 weeks now I've been getting script errors quite often, while changing animations on seats or interacting with pets, for example. And it is happening to other people, too. Here's a very recent example (while dropping one of my cats to the ground): [14:32] KittyCats - Phoenix: Script trying to stop animations but PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION permission not set The issue happens with boats and other vehicles as well — but not all the time —, no matter what region I am at. Any idea about why all of a sudden this started to happen and persists? I use the latest Firestorm release (yeah, it's getting old, I know) and I'm wondering if it's a viewer issue due to some recent changes on the server side...
  19. It is what you want it to be, what your make it for yourself.
  20. The lower prim version is 145LI and available in finer premium Sandboxes everywhere... it comes with a recommendation for how to set the LOD display to 4.0 Yes, "due to some popular feedback" the Lindens made a new version with an acceptable LI. Also, it is good to know they are listening to the community — at least when we keep it reasonable.
  21. In my account settings there clearly is stated that there is a payment on file, it's active. I just updated it yesterday. Yes, it does, I checked that and it shows that you have payment info on file. Anyway, having payment info or not shouldn't have anything to do with maturity ratings. But quite recently there were some issues concerning something that may be related... or not. Please check the JIRA I filed (the issue seems to be more or less resolved now): https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-6735 As I said before, if I were you I'd file a JIRA providing as much info as possible. The way you described your problem sounds more like a SL bug than anything else.
  22. Yes, lotsa issues at the moment, from region handshake fails to outfits messed up. LL is aware of it, though. Please check the Grid Status Reports page for updates: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/
  23. If you go to the date and time settings, you have a tab for Internet Time. There, just click on "Change settings" and make sure "Synchronize with an Internet time server" is ticked, so it can automatically update the time.
