  1. Maybe it's too early for good news, but for the second day in a row I haven't experienced inventory issues. I wonder if my database records were repaired and/or copied to a fresh database... One thing is sure: the Lab is working on it and seems to be achieving some results.
  2. And one more unscheduled maintenance: [postED 7:31 PM PST, 2 February 2014] We are performing an unscheduled inventory maintenance. During this time, some residents may be logged off and will be temporarily unable to log in, or experience inventory loading issues. This maintenance may also disrupt transactions. Please refrain from transacting with L$ or rezzing valuable (no-copy) items until the all-clear is given. Please check back here for updates. Only a few hours after an "unscheduled maintenance" another one started. Doesn't seem that people "with db experience" are being able to fix whatever happened. Actually, I fear the database is beyond repair — but I hope not (yeah, faith is silly, I know.) So how is that related with TPV's?
  3. Yes, the viewer freezes because your connection is dropped. I had a similar problem about a week ago, but it lasted for a couples days only. I found out that SL network was sending bogus packets to my modem, trashing the connection until it dropped. Maybe today's unscheduled network maintenance is related to that issue... But of course we'll never know for sure about the mess that must be going on at the Lab these days — we only experience it.
  4. All this is becoming ridiculous, and "unscheduled maintenances" mean that the Lab isn't fixing anything — which I can tell from the issues I experience daily. It is frustrating to keep losing items because of inventory faults. These days, I only buy items from stores which have a redelivery system, and building anything is just a mirage. P.S. A backup system on the client side would make our "Second Life experience" much better because safer, but of course that's just a dream which will never become true — both the Lab and merchants aren't "motivated" to the idea.
  5. No, they did not. I had some very annoying moments between 5 PM and 6 PM PST while changing outfits at a main Second Life server channel region.
  6. This is becoming a nightmare, really. Now everytime I change outfits I end up naked and without hair or with one and a half outfit on... Or whatever. Not to mention a lot of issues rezzing or derezzing objects. It seems the Lab took a bite on more than they can chew. This is a mess.
  7. Unfortunately, I believe you are right and I can only say this: if my inventory will ever be lost and not recovered, I shall abandon my mainland holdings, cancel the premium membership and won't spend a single Euro in SL again. Possibly, I'll leave SL for good, too... It would be terrible having to start all over again.
  8. Yes, it is happening to many people, and that's only one of the inventory issues happening lately. Please check this thread here: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Server/Inventory-issues/td-p/2455151
  9. Today, for example, the inventory faults occured at four different regions. Filing a JIRA is out of question because the faults are intermitent and there's no way that I know of reproducing them, they are inventory faults that occur for no apparent reason — on the client side, I mean. Also, I'm sure the Lab is aware of problems, that's why they keep doing maintenace after maintenance since Christmas — a couple of them lasting for more than 24 hours, that I remember. [update] Inventory faults happen even at my Linden Home (Sparkleberry) and from what I've been discussing with other people it seems to be more a grid-wide user and timing issue than a region one.
  10. Yes, inventory faults have been becoming more frequent each day. Purchased items lost because of inventory faults, items inworld cannot be derezzed, outfits messed up, etc. Really, this needs to be taken care properly and that is not being done — I can tell from what's going on everyday, many times a day. P.S. — And no, those issues I mention are not due to undergoing maintenaces.
  11. All that is true, and I know it. Also, I'm aware that the money LL gets from premium memberships is a small part of their income and could never cover the overall costs by itself. More: during my first year in SL I had a basic account and nevertheless had 6 times more land than I have now. So I'm not assuming what you say I am — at all. But you too seem to miss the point, so I shall write no more here.
  12. Of course you too are entitled to your dumb opinion, just like everyone else. Actually, the whole thread is dumb, starting with someone whining about SL personal costs. But I can tell you this: in my dumb preception of it all, I believe that on the day Linden Lab stops making enough money to pay the salaries and the external services required to keep Second Life running and improving, they will terminate it. It is true no one needs a premium account to enjoy SL, but my point was showing how ridiculously low cost is having a Linden Home plus all the other benefits a premium membership can offer. As dumb as I am, I see some advantages in having a premium membership — and that's why I subscribed it, of course. P.S. — When someone is getting something for free, it's because someone else is paying it. I'm one of those who pay it — yes, I'm that dumb.
  13. Silly thread indeed. The annual premium membership costs 6 bucks/month. Those who can't spend $6 monthly in SL should find something else to do with their free time — some profitable activity, maybe...?
  14. Hello, Maestro. I'll do what you suggest and see what my neighbor can find out of it. I'll keep you posted here as soon as we have some results. Thank you. :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:
  15. Maestro, I'm not sure what triggers the bug, either, but I've been experiencing that at Nuggy — where I own a parcel — since March 2013. It may be related to the Pathfinding bug supposedly fixed a few months ago. So it's not something caused by the latest updates. All I know is that whenever one of my neighbours lands on his parcel, the navmesh needs to be rebaked. And no, he hasn't terraformed for a long time. Me an my neighbour have been talking about it for months and never came to a conclusion. It can be his pet dog or anything else detecting his presence there... We just don't know, but we are sure that it is his presence there. Also, he says that after every simulator restart he has to reset all his furniture... And yes, his parcel uses a lot of scripts memory — maybe it is a whole set of items combined that causes it.
  16. When a region's memory allocated reaches ~920 Mb the simulator stops allowing object entry, hence the issue you experienced. What I would recommend is that you open a support case whenever that happens, under "Land & Region" and "Report an offline Region". And if you do, please provide as much info as possible. Also, please keep monitoring that region, and especially if its navmesh needs to be rebaked often. If that is the case, than there is something in that region triggering a server bug that wasn't fully fixed so far. I've been experiencing that at the region where I own a parcel and despite I have been filing support cases since March 2013 — and even a JIRA that was marked as duplicate (which it wasn't) and closed — the bug seems to have been ignored so far. So I gave up trying to make people understand that it is a server bug and just request a restart when needed (which happens several times a week.) Best wishes.
  17. Shameful... But the Lindens are only fooling themselves if they believe they fool us. Everyone I know (me included) suffered terrible inventory issues for many hours, starting on the 6th.
