  1. If I want to find an old topic or post in this forum, I use Google Public Search. It is much faster and more accurate than the search function in this forum while logged in.
  2. I am in the Linden Realms several days every week, for the last 4 years. I have not seen any increase in "cheating" during my time collecting crystals. I have yet to see any followers in the last two years, since Patch had the signs put up. I have yet to have anyone out run me, at the standard avatar run speed. Of course I have no HUDs attached, except the Linden HUD, that keeps detaching every game. Most of the re-attach HUD terminals do not work. You need to keep crossing region boundaries to wake up the re attach the LR Hud script. I wish they could fix this bug in the game,. It has been there since LR began. Some players seem to think that all green crystals are theirs. If I see a green crystal, I will run to it, at legal speed, and if I get there before you do, it means I was closer to it than you. Newton's laws of motion still apply in the LR. What you should be complaining about is that LL has reduced the Realms from six estates to one estate. The number of crystals generated has not increased for one estate, but the number of players is now about triple what it was. And, some players are just more experienced or have solid internet connections (zero lag) and will beat you to the high value crystals in a race. Not cheating.
  3. There used to be 6 (SIX) "servers' actually estates, with 12 regions/estate all in operation for the Linden Realms. By cutting back from six to one, they save more lindens since the number of crystals generated per region and estate has not changed. Actually it seems like there are less crystals now than before the "cheating prevention measures", but that could just be too many players for only one estate. If the bottom line is for LL to save money by preventing players from cashing out too many of their lindens to RL dollars, then the Realms are a LL success story. Since you are lucky to earn 25 lindens/hour now by collecting crystals, this must be a huge savings.
  4. I suppose this song will manage to offend everyone here in one way or another. Really folks, worry about something important for a change, what a waste of a thread.
  5. You should submit an LL Jira suggesting LL fix the problem of a hard to use free nus. This is what the pron bot blocked, right? Perhaps this is also why so many men in SL are women?
  6. I guess lindens are the original cryptocurrency, where record keeping is "optional". The cost to store text files in a text based database is insignificant, for 1 month or 10 years. Since MP stores all your transactions for at least the last 11 years, and those transactions are all in lindens, it is hard to believe LL does not also have the linden transaction history as well. This is no way to run a business at the least. Once the Super Duper Premium Plus Plus comes out for $500/yr, transaction history will go back 6 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!. Or maybe not... Could be it would cost too much to fix the databases, since there are a scarcity of programmers that still understand text based apps.. Or maybe not. High value linden based land transactions would seem to have more priority for long term record keeping, than a 1$L purchase of a 2012 New Years hat on MP. Or maybe not... 😒
  7. The bots are not on his parcel. They are on Linden owned abandoned land (parcels) on his region. You cannot ban bots or avatars on other parcels you don't own. You would need to have region admin rights, and LL is not going to give you rights to their mainland region unless you buy it from them. There are still some misbehaving security orbs that can scan and eject beyond your parcel boundaries. But if that orb ejects or bans an actual owner of a parcel on your region, they can AR you for harassment and worse. Often a Game of Thrones player will buy a cheap small parcel from LL in some desolate wasteland, and stick all of their bots on a sky platform or box. I had one buy a 16x16m plot (256 sqm) for 128 lindens, and use the extra group tier from a Premium membership to cover the monthly tier. They then squeezed 40 GOT bots on a sky platform. The region limit was set to 44. Fortunately the GOT owner got bored with their exciting game, and abandoned the parcel.
  8. Were you in their land group? Or any group associated with the owners and their bots? Does the names you worked with list any groups in their profile? And, did they return your stuff you had rezzed on your parcel? Seems there is more you can do, despite no help from LL whatsoever, to try and figure out what happened. If the regions are offline and you still have your stuff there, LL will usually restart the region and allow access for a few hours, so you can reclaim your things. It would take some effort for the owners to remove everyone (all their bots and hidden accounts) from a profile listing, which means it was no accident if they did. They might have canceled all of their SL accounts and taken their regions offline. In which case LL can still restart their regions. I can see where you don't care to put in any more time chasing invisible rabbits, but surely not all of the renters feel the same? Yes it is too bad LL has no law system for their residents, other than crooks stealing your account and taking your lindens or Tillia balance where Tillia might respond. Governments cost money, and nobody wants to pay taxes.
  9. I have rented from various landlords for 11 years. Never paid more than 1 week at a time. Exception was LL mainland, where I trusted LL would not vanish in one month.
  10. We don't need no stinkin' rules! Anarchy is cheaper, less work, less salary overhead, and the bean counters who have strict rules on collecting our money, are also happy with anarchy for everything else - more profits. It's always been this way. If you wanted rules and standards, LL would need to tax you all to pay for the administration of the rules and standards. The TOS is full of rules, but few that benefit the user experience.
  11. To the OP @TeineGelach To upgrade to Premium will cost you 3 1/2 PENNIES/week more. Plus (ripoff) is $34.79/yr after stipend. For this you get only the "privilege" of buying overpriced mainland and 512 sqm tier (175 LI). Expect to abandon your land and move frequently as some horrible neighbor sticks up a bright pink wall of 100 meter high rabbits to block your views. You can still rezz a skybox high over your land and only see the other sky junk around you. Such a deal! Premium is $36.60/yr after stipend. For this you get 1024 sqm tier, and a Linden Home, or 1024 sqm mainland, and about 12 more useful Premium features, none of which you get with Plus (ripoff). Since you already paid for a year, upgrade to Premium for less that the $1.81/year more it costs, since the year will be pro-rated. Premium is such an overwhelmingly better deal now, that we expect LL will raise the annual price for Premium "soon". That still won't make Plus attractive unless you just love the anarchy of mainland, and have no use for the many Premium features.
  12. Thank You Whirly, and what a detailed JIRA Bug report to LL. It's been a battle to get the shutdown issue recognized as a real bug, and point out who created this problem (not FS).
  13. I hope debugging files gives you an answer. Thanks for looking at the logout processes. But from another simple view, why does the LL and FS viewers shutdown instantly and return to the Windows desktop? We know the viewer is not really finished in less than 1 second after you hit that X to log out. What about the code that removed the prior shutdown window? And why was it removed after years of having a proper shutdown window?
  14. The new version of the Nvidia 1660 (released in 2019) was discounted, but is rising in price again. I expect the supply is limited - but they are still available with limits from EVGA and Amazon online. Any newer generation card is still more expensive if you want equal performance. All the 3000 cards are RTX I believe, just extra hardware to me. I don't play computer games at all - just need more VRAM and a cooler GPU for ALM if I am forced to use ALM in SL.
  15. I can boot to Windows 10 if I choose to, but have no reason to do so. The card I am looking at still supports Win7 64 bit, according to EVGA, the manufacturer. I don't need a 3000 series Nvidia card, or RTX. When do you think SL will only work with ray tracing enabled video cards? This is an end of life GTX card still being made and sold by EVGA. It is an updated version that competes with the 2060's, with faster bandwidth than the older non super versions. To move to an RTX 3000 series card I would need to rebuild my entire computer, estimated cost over $1000 USD. Not going to happen anytime soon. From EVGA website: Compatibility of the EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER SC ULTRA GAMING, 06G-P4-1068-KR, 6GB GDDR6, Dual Fan, Metal Backplate (06G-P4-1068-KR) 600-PL-2816-LR EVGA PowerLink, Support ALL NVIDIA Founders Edition & ALL EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti/2080/2070*/2060*/SUPER*/GTX 1660 Ti*/1660*/1650/1080 Ti/1080/1070 Ti/1070/1060 Operating System Support Windows 10 64bit Windows 7 64bit Requirements Minimum of a 450 Watt power supply. One available 8-pin PCIe power dongle Total Power Draw : 125 Watts Product Warranty This product comes with a 3 year warranty. Registration is recommended. Price keeps going back up, was $199 on sale a month ago, is now $290. EVGA sells it for $380 now and limit is 5 cards. Best mid range card that will survive SL another few years, and still work with older technology. When I replace my motherboard in the future the bus speed will be faster too and this card will use that. (Works with PCI Express 3.0 and lower, and I have PCI Express 2.0 bus in my 10 yr old MCI motherboard.) https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Gaming-Backplate-06G-P4-1068-KR/dp/B07ZHZL2JB?th=1 https://www.antonline.com/Evga/Computers/Video_Cards/Graphic_Cards/1383049
  16. Thanks, I won't do it then. This is a behavioral issue also. FS sends inventory loss victims to the FS Wiki, and if they follow all the steps, eventually clear their caches. This removes the .gz shortened (or temp corrupted) file, and inventory loads fully in it's absence. They report back to FS help that it is fixed. But not really of course. They usually don't follow up later when loss occurs again, because they already tried everything they were told. Some resort to clearing the cache as the "cure" for missing inventory, and don't care about the cause. Others are told to try the SL Viewer and they do not see the inventory loss. But they are not regular SL Viewer users, so they don't use it for rapid logins. So they don't see the problem in the SL Viewer (low sampling) and report back that it only happens in FS. But FS is what they use daily. Again, inadequate sampling data, misleading the FS Help team.
  17. Well I run what most call a potato computer (9 yr old technology on what was once a good mid range desktop gaming system that was overkill for SL) - and I still get 40 fps with the FS limiter on at 40 in most conditions (70 fps at home w/ no FS limiter). I also run two accounts at the same time often (2 FS accts on separate monitors. For $300 I could upgrade the video card to a mid range new NVIDIA card that would give me more memory and less of a hit running ALM. Watching Black Friday deals.... $300 USD is not a trivial amount living on a fixed income with rents and energy costs increasing 15% every year. My CPU is never maxed out, usually runs 25% for the 4 core average with the latest FS Release Candidate (6.6.8.68355) But with ALM on my GPU goes to 99% for any kind of advanced scenery. and runs 50% with ALM off. FPS are the same for ALM on and off because I limit to 40 fps. With no fps limiting, no ALM gives me 70 fps for the same scene. CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor (3400.08 MHz) Memory: 16384 MB Concurrency: 4 OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 64-bit (Build 7601) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 550 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 (EVGA) Graphics Card Memory: 2048 MB Windows Graphics Driver Version: 23.21.13.8813 OpenGL Version: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 388.13 Any later version of the Graphics driver gives me slower performance. This driver was optimized for Win 7 and cards before the 1000 series. Later drivers added features my card does not have, and fixed bugs my card never had.
  18. Now that I have a few days off I will try to duplicate this issue with the default SL Viewer. So far the reports have come from Firestorm users, while it seems the problem became worse after FS added the improved performance code with the rapid shutdown from LL. So, is this a FS issue, or an LL issue? And thanks LL for approving and unhiding my posts here.
  19. This is ALL you get for your $5.99 USD/mo, or $65.99 USD/yr: What benefits are included with a Plus membership? Plus membership includes: The ability to own mainland, with 512m of land allowance included with the membership A weekly L$ stipend of L$150 An increased number of groups (50, instead of 42 for Basic members) A wider selection of technical ticket types available through Customer Support for non-account and Billing issues Nothing Else!
  20. I turn off ALM not because of it's slight lowering of my frame rate (30% loss at most), but because it maxes out my GPU to 99%, causes the GPU fans to whine away at max noise trying to keep the GPU temp in limits. No reason to add noise and shorten the life of my video card just to see reflections on a overly waxed auto. My cars are all muddy, and they have no shine. Why spend more in electric bills for shiny mud?
  21. You probably need a stronger power for your reading glasses. That happens as you age. I don't know Manuel either, but in my world most clouds are white (with blue sky) and ghosts are gray, sometimes translucent also. So I don't understand what your complaint is.
  22. I mostly hang out at kittycat markets, cat watching of course. I am only a Hooman Bean when I go to pickup bars for Hoomans. Meow~
  23. I get this for your SUP-27008: The FS Jira 32417 is still there. But not surprised they think it is intended behaviour, and ignore the fact that a user cannot tell anymore when FS is safe to restart. Guess it's time to ping the FS team to explain the issue here in this forum. @Whirly Fizzle @Beq Janus @panterapolnocy @Jessica Lyon
