  1. In Firestorm the option to turn off name tags is also in the 'quick preferences' panel (a little collection of commonly accessed preferences, which can also be customised on the latest version). If you don't know where that is, it's accessed by clicking on the toolbar button with the Firestorm logo on it.

Unfortunately the Orange Nova Nauha doesn't have an alpha masking option in its HUD (not to be confused with the 'mask' tab on the hud, which is the alpha cuts options for hiding parts of the body). I haven't tried the Omega applier for it however, so I couldn't say if the alpha masking/blending option is built into that or not.
  4. s2Pandora wrote: Is this body missing a clothing layer?... . The Orange Nova Nauha has only two clothing layers - one called 'tattoo layer' and the other just called 'clothing layer'. You don't have to take those terms literally though, and as far as I'm aware you should be able to apply any texture to any of the layers (eg apply underwear to the tattoo layer.) Also, unlike many of the other mesh bodies, both of those layers are separate wearable items - you have to 'add' them yourself in order to wear them, so first of all make sure that you do have both of them on.

My guess would be that she hasn't got some of her settings active in her graphics preferences. She'll probably need have at least 'Basics Shaders' and 'Hardware Skinning' active. OR: If it's not that then it could be she's wearing two different heads at the same time. If either or both of them uses alpha blending textures then that also might account for why she only says it like that some of the time - caused by what is commonly called 'the alpha glitch'.

It says so on his marketplace listings. He's just a remarkably very good animator! I actually think a lot of them are better than some of the motion captured animations out there. From the marketplace of his latest release (bolding mine): "Features - non motion captured, 53 animation x each size, 125/155/185cm "
  8. irihapeti wrote: i need more than 5 tattoo layers. Like about 10 (: I personally don't think we need more tattoo layers. What we need I think is an all new 'makeup' layer which is just for applying a texture to the face, with the option to add up to five of those of course. Tattoo layers are designed for covering the whole body, regardless of whether you use them to just add a pimple on your nose, so something designed for adding textures exclusively to the face would be useful I think and would free up some of those tattoo layers for other things. And we already have plenty enough upper body and lower body layer options I feel.

It's just an annoucement telling us when the maintenance postponed from 22nd May will take place. Which will be on Tuesday. But not on the day the announcement was made nor over the weekend. So don't worry - the Lindens aren't working that hard! Just to quote the grid status post, it says : "[Posted 7:15 AM PDT, 30 May 2014] The maintenance originally scheduled for 22 May at 7am has been rescheduled for Tuesday, 03 June beginning at 7am PDT. The Second Life Service will be closed for logins for approximately one hour." So you're not crashing because of ongoing maintenance!

The irony is that I remember my password and can see a brief shot of my AV and where it last was (some sort of beach club) Do you still have your chat logs from that time? I'm guessing you probably do if a snapshot of your last location is appearing as you log in - those snapshops are saved in the same place as your chat logs. It might depend on your preferences, but my local chat logs the places I teleport (thought it might only log the last on you teleported FROM and not to...). Failing that, I'm sure that same folder with the chat logs might also contain a file with teleport history in it anyway. I can't check for certain as I'm not at my SL computer - but it's worth a look. Good luck.

But an everday paid of knickers - who even sells those? There are plenty if you actually look. Like these for instance: Everyday knickers
  12. Phil Deakins wrote: It would help a bit if shape-edit had the option of using the actual lighting at the time as well as, or instead of, the flat lighting that it uses now,. It does have that option. It's somewhere in preferences - you have to de-activate that thing where editing your appearance puts you in that 'editing appearance' pose. With that setting un-checked, nobody even knows you are editing your appearance if you do it in public*. It does mean your avi continues using whatever AO you have, so you might want to use a pose stand when you edit. I'm not able to check exactly where to find that just now but it is there because that's how I have it set! *(edited to add - well at least I *think* nobody knows... but maybe to everyone else I've been going into that pose every time I feel the need to tweek my nose shape or something)
  13. williaminc000 wrote: i can get that for free just by going outside my house? I'm curious as to why you're getting verbal abuse when you go outside your house. What have you DONE?! I for one manage to go outside my house almost everyday without anybody ever swearing at me. Maybe whatever it is you're doing that causes people outside to swear at you, don't do that thing. And don't do that thing in SL either.
  14. It's by *Edelweiss* This is the duffle coat from that picture (or 'duffel' as they put it): https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Edelweiss-School-Line-Duffel-Coat-cream/4866663 I'll let you find the demo, other colours and the skirt etc from there... There's an inworld store too
  15. Thanks for finding that Sven - I was just trying to track down that information and post it here myself but you beat me to it!
  16. Okay - best advice right now would be to join the inworld Firestorm support group (if you haven't already) and ask in there. (Search for 'Firestorm Support English') I'd suggest you make sure you're running the lastest version as well of course. And maybe try logging in on the default viewer as well, just to test if it's a viewer issue or something else. I'm not able to be logged in myself at the moment so i can't see the menus, but I'm sure there are some avatar 'fix' tools in the main 'Avatar' menu.
  17. If you're orange smoke it sounds like you're using Firestorm... Do you have outfits saved? If so, try wearing a different outfit to completely replace whatever you are wearing now. Also - and my apologies for asking if you've done this - have you simply tried re-logging? If you haven't, do that - and try logging in to a different sim to the one you logged out of. The fact you're having attach/detach glitches sounds to me like a re-log is what's needed (unless of course you've done that and it's happening all the time).
  18. Qie Niangao wrote: Basic avatar eyes use the same texture on both sides.... ... there are certainly mesh eyes, but that's a simple enough body part that there have been prim eyes for a long, long time. Thank you for that. Yes, that's what I suspected really of the basic 'system' avatar eyes - I think the texture is repeated rather than mirrored in this case. I've just never made any of these eyes or given much thought to how they work. And yes - I'm aware of mesh (and prim) replacements, having bought some mesh eyes myself, and indeed I can have one brown eye and one blue eye should I chose in this case! Bringing it somewhat back on topic - I think the idea of applying tattoos to a fitted mesh 'shell' worn over the avatar sounds interesting. I'm vaguely aware this approach has already been attempted with standard rigged mesh, though I've never tried anything that does this to know how well it works.
  19. Canoro Philipp wrote:. ...Linden Lab should work on separating both arms, and legs, assuming that not everyone is identical both sides. Just to clarify: Legs are NOT mirrorred. You CAN have different tattoos on each leg (or a tattoo on one leg but not the other) Only the arm (and hand) and foot is mirrored. (I'm not entirely sure what happens with the eyes though... I know with mesh eyes they can be attached independently, but 'system' eyes attach as a pair and I'm not sure if they can be textured independently... anyway, I'm wandering off the topic..)
  20. Freya Mokusei wrote: Only downside is Elements lack of support of the .TGA file format. This can make it difficult pulling textures back out of SL - Save To Disk in SL will try to export to TGA. You can select to save to disk as .PNG as well as .TGA from SL, so it shouldn't be an issue (unless it depends on the viewer - you can save as .PNG from Firestorm anyway. I never use .TGA)

  23. As I understand it (though I'm no expert), the prority is set within each of the individual animations and not the AO itself... so the prority cannot be set in the AO. Whether an individual animation being mod is enough to let you change its prority, I wouldn't know. EDIT: Freya just answered that!
  24. Ah I see. He/she once developed a bit of code to automatically control your draw distance from low to higher to improve rez times of closer objects. Someone called Winter Ventura notes in one of the threads referenced above "I wish LL would just change the "interest" algorithm so that close prims and textures load first." That is of course pretty much what they are now doing with Project Interesting. I wonder if this person is coming out of the woodwork now in a last-ditched attempt to promote and sell products that are going to have no use to anyone who buys them after the release of some upcoming viewer update?
