The Secret House is something I just tumbled to recently, but it looks very nice as a gathering spot. Saturday evenings, Club Tryst is quite the hangout and they run late. I think they have other events during the week but I am not sure of the schedule. Velvet Thorn is quite welcoming, but its primary focus in FemDom (not FinDom) within the BDSM community. They are charming folks (disclaimer: I take pics for their blog every Saturday evening, so I am biased) and worth a look. In principle all of SL *should* be LGBTQ+ friendly, but this is sometimes not the case. Its a big grid and not everyone is as enthusiastic about everything as I would like. Thats their prerogative, I just try to avoid the mean ones.

I think that - if we were to be perfectly honest - that many of us have “SL Working Girl” avatars in our past 🙂 .....the even more honest might have stories about Clients whose available cash exceeded their ability to stay awake and enjoy what they paid for.... .....not that *I* have any stories like that 🙂

This is usually how people overspend on SL... three glasses of wine and Stealthic’s new hair becomes irresistible to me....all of it.... So far as making money in SL (and I hope that was 100K LINDENS you were talking about), if you have insane skills with Blender or avatar component creation then you can sell things on the Marketplace. If you want to try the SL Service industry and can DJ or host; thats a very “variable” income until you get established. If you have great photo skills and edit well, you can get paid to do that as well. If you REALLY are determined, *good* sexworkers can get paid here (in SL terms, not good RL money) but that depends on your personal level of “flexibility”. SL Hitmen don’t do well, their victims just keep relogging........

I’m *guessing* this has to do with the amount of Staff LL has to throw at any given issue. Having just shed some jobs at the Lab, they are more than likely having to prioritize where they utilize their talent. However, if this is a big issue it will probably bubble up their priority list as more people bend their ears about it. If its a matter of developing a Tool to do the work, that would probably get tagged for completion more quickly than something involving an ongoing human oversight presence. I like your ideas ! ..and I’ll give you an uninformed answer A.K.

My Partner and I started up building a circle of *friends* to go clubbing with and it almost seems to have grown into a girl-gang or a continual flashmob 🙂 People DO tend to leave you alone and let you dance with your friends when you arrive in a mob........ too much digital estrogen?

(I wish *I* was a Sopwith /me #isjealous) Thats why I take no special pride in the change in my avatar’s appearance; anyone who wants to spend the time and L$ can do that; it was nothing special. But so far as RL is concerned, to build on what you said; The saving grace is that we have the ability to *choose* how we react or treat people regardless; RL or SL. Its difficult to control how we feel, but always possible to moderate how we act 🙂

But we do: it’s how we’re made. Even the people screaming at us not to judge by appearances have their own preferences and personal filters in place. We all like what we like... ...I like Key Lime pie!

Here is my perspective; shorter, shapley females with longer hair get more attention. Bonus for blondes. My experience has been (at least in SL) that many male avatars are (a) constantly competing to be the Tallest and (b) like to have the male-female height differential one sees in popular media. When my avatar was taller and my hair bobbed, I got much less attention from male avatars. Conversely, when I lowered my height (to remain size-compatible w my longtime Partner), went to to long hair and made my figure more “athletically” curved - I got much more attention both inworld and on Flickr. Old Me - 14 faves New Me - 120 faves Keep in mind; I don’t take the difference very seriously. Changing my appearance for modeling assignments is a “work thing”. The only part I get excited about is when Skye seems happy with how I look. The things we do for love somehow never manage to feel like impositions 🙂 So... Its not scientific and I only have assumptions as to why the behavior skewed that way - but it was a step-change in my avatar visibility. Anyway, both your avatars reflect the beauty of your personality. Its just that too many people wander around with blinders on or expect a superficial or trendy standard of beauty.

I created Amanda after my 2005 Original acquired a tech-savvy stalker that LL was unable to do anything about. I’m still sentimental about my Original avatar (I’m a sentimental person), but Amanda is “me” in SL in every way that counts. I can’t see putting her away.... Since its unlikely that Keen will make the list of new Last Names, I’ll probably be “Resident” for the foreseeable future, and I can live with that 🙂

My goodness......considering how much of SL is into bond-age, I’d think there would have to be more vampire bonds as well? Does being undead affect the libido? Does not everything “rise” from the grave? Where is Carl Kolchack, Buffy or Spooky Mulder when we have questions.......???

The terms “Girlcrush”, “Mancrush” and “Bromance” generally apply to cisgender people and pertain to extreme admiration of someone of the same sex without the erotic desire automatically being (consciously) attached. So I’d say Yes.
