Yāknow, even the most terminally optimistic of us can have days when *STUFF* can (unintentionally) drag us down. It can almost tempt you to retreat back to your āSL Sleazy Stageā for some mindlessness, but then you remember how long that stuff takes to wash off ...... So my activity is that Iām Sitting here reminding myself that Iām a grownup ........ and Iām supposed to make grownup choices... #adultingsucks -

I consistently LOVE talking to my SL friends from Australia š I keep hoping that their cultural awesomeness will rub off on me š
-
Well, I once spoke to someone who seemed āmetaphoricallyā like they might be from Another Planet....does that count? They MUST have been from an alien planet; what they were suggesting was anatomically impossible ........
-
I understand, my emotional response is one legacy of a very determined and technically proficient stalker who decided to make a royal pain of himself. Mainly my resentment is directed at the Platform owner; who was singularly helpless.

Personally, I have wondered why LL sanctions scanners in its official marketplace.
-
Unfortunately, its very easy to see whoās on and whoās not. The SL marketplace sells any number of Avatar Scanners that can deny privacy to anyone whose avatar system name you add to its list.

(1) Many people come to a wide-open virtual world holding tightly to the prejudices of RL (2) Learn to ignore #1 and have fun anyway š

Amanda Keen So my Original acquired a Stalker whom no Avatar or Linden could defeat. So I made an alt Some say ....āan alt with a stripper name: Amanda Keenā Luckily my partner also made an alt. Sheās kinda hawt... I take some pics for Flickr..... I do some club work..... and Iām on these forums a bit too.... ..and so it continues...... Next?

A confession as to why I would use female avis.

Iām happy that SL brings you joy, no matter what kind of avatar you choose š The exercise of Imagination begins when people realize that their soul is not limited by whatever situation they were born into. We only get a finite amount of time in this life; live it as makes you happy. -

Have you ever squatted on someone else's land?
Amanda Crisp replied to purrrkitten's topic in General Discussion
A courteous squatter would have someone following them with a pooper scooper after they squat..... -
Iāve heard complaints from Cam-shoppers like this. They are shopping long-distance at events using their camera and then they try to purchase, they donāt have the right toggles set to enable selection/payment.

What are your expectations for our Second Life?
Amanda Crisp replied to Steronum's topic in General Discussion Forum
Basically the matrix, only not evil. If I could stay there with my partner 100% of the time, as a prospective retiree; Iād be there. -

Second Life Virtual World and Social Media
Amanda Crisp replied to FairreLilette's topic in General Discussion Forum
I have a RL job that entails some long hours, so I use FB and Discord to keep up with stuffs in SL. UnfortunatelyI work LATE nights so when I ping people on my breaks or respond to their social posts - about half they time theyāre asleep at the keyboard.... -
What do you do when you're angry?

I wonder if saying āIām a Trollā on a forum is an advanced form of Trollage? -
Secondlife declining player base
Amanda Crisp replied to Cheza Tearfall's topic in General Discussion Forum
Maybe the key to retaining Residents is to be better able to direct them to content they *want* and ensure that they *understand* that the content providers are....other residents....and not SL itself ? Operating in an open āEnvironmentā is a different ( or at least a more intense ) social skill-set than that used for a closed-loop āGameā. Perhaps if prospective Residents relate to that concept, they will be better prepared to āgo find your own funā as opposed to wandering and being disappointed by the lack of a set progression path. -

Fatigue as a style of management
Amanda Crisp replied to Cam Mode's topic in General Discussion Forum
I can muster up some sympathy for the O.P. I āve had a second career in the Business world with an overlap into non-profits. Attention to Detail is āGodā when rolling out a new process - but so is simplicity and understandability. Understanding the 2nd and 3rd order impacts of your actions comes in right behind them. I love SL, but in all honesty - they have some issues with how they implement and roll-out new things. Communications seem un-coordinated at times and it almost *takes* a full-on firestorm to get them to provide clarity. This can be off-putting to many for a variety of reasons. But as I said, I love SL - I can work through the āword soupā for something I care about.
