  1. here an older one, in my home at Saratoga Springs a few years ago (2016).
  2. One of my oldest friends in Second Life: Catherine Palen.
  3. Wow, this went off topic in record speed. Instead of simply posting pics (topic), we have now a meta discussion about: - Ist it legitimate to take screenshots of other avatars - In which section the thread belongs - If the thread should have been opened to start with. - Pearl Folks, if you don't like the topic or the poster, simply do not open it. It is that damn f*cking easy. There is no rule about being obliged to open and read every single thread. It is optional. It really is. /me runs to find an appropriate pic herself. P.S.: Nice pics Pearl.
  4. Forget about jobs in that case. There is NO job in Second Life which will get you that much. There is only one way to make that kind of money: Found a business in SL, which requires skills and an investment. Check out how other SL business owners work. Look at what branches they operate in, what products they create and evaluate if you are able to compete with them: Some profitable but highly competitive SL branches: - Real estate - Fashion - Furniture - Media When you browse through marketplace you will find a couple of merchants being very successful. Have a look at those: Scandalize, Maitreya, Slink, Chung Estates, Dutchie, Rawage and others. This gets you an idea what is required and how to market your business. Spoiler: It is a lot of work! Those make even more than 500k a week. Bear in mind that making money in sl is not the rule but exception for a few skilled and hard working few. From the 600 k monthly active users only about 5000 are cash positive.
  5. . I just started a new character (account) for a specific story line on my blog. Written for people like you! It is the story of a girl with no L$ at all. No support form my main , no help from my friends. It shows you step by step how to have fun with no money to start with and (for a change) not allowed to escort or do any sex work whatsoever. You will read about her getting small amounts of L$ and where to get good freebies and 1 L$ stuff. First part: The introduction https://www.second-life-adventures.com/marketplace/
  6. My kind of girl. If you want to give this a try as a side job, give me a call in world. Having said that: In virtual arts or building in mesh you have better chances to make really good money. But if you have fun doing that type of "role play" you might as well give it a try and make some easy pocket money.
  7. You need to translate from "Nerdish" to English first.
  8. She din't explicitly exclude those. Let her decide weather she likes them or not.
  9. What about one of those: [NSFW] https://jessicainsecondlife.com/top-10-most-popular-sex-places-in-second-life/
  10. Ok, I never heard of it before. I wonder why the noobs get now directly ro portal park and not to social island.
  11. That was probably the Idea. Getting noobs involved in something game-like to start with. Maybe a Linden reading this want to comment?
  12. Alwin, Interesting point. I will test this sending a LM to my main and see if I can access it. I do know that new residents get automatically set home there. I personally never saw griefing on Social Island. Also I think older residents probably don't even know about Portal Park (yet). They probably hang around Social Island and wonder where all the noobs are gone.
  13. Hello fellow residents, Usually when a new resident finishes his learning path on learning island and walks through the portal at the end he/she gets teleported to one of the Social Islands. I realized the other day, that this might have changed. I am not sure weather this is a new thing at all, as it has been a long time that I released a new character into the wild. You end up now on a place called "Portal Park". It is much smaller then Social Island and consists of several portals to specific Linden owned regions (such as the Linden Realms and Horizons). The design differs substantially compared to Social Island. Have a look yourself:
  14. Hi Dillin, I think we must make a distinction here between mainland and private estates. A private estate is just that: A private estate. It is your virtual world within a virtual world. Your money, your rules. Your the Gouvernor so to speak. Period. End of Story. On the mainland the overruling covenant are the TOS. Here the Lindens are the Gouvernor and could (if they wanted to) establish a rule, that if a place allows public access, such discriminatory behavior is not allowed. I would welcome this becoming part of the mainland policies.
  15. Another pearl bashing post? That escalated quick.
  16. But, if you are portraying a cat in SL I demand voice verification. I need to hear your meow first.
  17. Hi go to slerotic.com, There you find erotic art artists who might help you on this one (in the section "Interviews")
  18. Hello Pearl I came to announce a new project back in 2012: I just created Caroline (I had another account ´t before). The idea was to create a new blog, telling newbies the "how tos" of second Life using stories of first hand experience. The blog wasn't meant to be something big or special nor didn't I have any business intention. It was more for the fun of it and for the challenge to start with literally nothing and see how far I get without buying any L$. Zero. Announcing the blog was my very first post here and here my very first blogpost: https://carolineinsecondlife.wordpress.com/2012/04/30/caroline-at-the-dp-dear-prudence-rock-club/ Poor little girl. walking the grid, showing noobs how to survive SL without money in my pocket (at first). You know where this is going, don't you? Yes, that was the start to what would eventually become SLA Media, producer of some of the best known Second Life adult blogs. Now I hang around here to see what others do in SL, join topics like this one, announce events and new releases. P.S: Just remembered the old links do not work anymore. I just reactivated those, in case you want to read how it all started (very old stuff, see Carol as a noob haha): https://carolineinsecondlife.wordpress.com/

  20. Well, For YOU it is a place to explore your fun side. Others might be there for business, or to explore their creativity, to learn somthing or to explore sexual kinks. An example: If someone would walk into my SL office whilst I do a sales presentation to a potential advertiser and turns it into some kind of slapstick comedy, I would hit the eject button. There are many reasons to be in SL and they do not have to match yours. Each to his own.
