  1. Sometimes the tags don't refresh the info right away. There is a refresh button in the group profile (arrow in a circle shape path). When you set the new tag names if they haven't shown up yet go in there and give that button a try. The wearer of the tag can try the button on their screen too. If its still showing wrong get the wearer to change what group they have active (none if they have no other) then put your group back to activated it sometimes forces the change.
  2. I'm using the updated FS on win 8 and the only time i get logged out when the screen is minimized is if I'm gone afk for a while. (past my set away and log off time) have you tried the whole cache clear and clean instal type solutions that are always the first suggestions the people in the firestorm group chat usually say?

I'm not sure how a creator can make a product someone buys not work for that specific person unless it is one of those scripts that work hand in hand with an outside webpage like some of the gift cards and redelivery systems do for example. It's not like the script says "get permission from creator before letting this person use it" The script could say something where it needs to communicate with the creators database or something in order to function, and if the person is blocked the database wont work of course. In this case we have to wonder why the person is blocked in the first place. The reason must be a doozy. I don't have information on what type of product it is from this post and don't want a name etc that is against the rules. since we are flying blind on what the product could be these are some simple possibilities that could be why its not working that isn't the sellers fault at all if any of these are the case. Some cases of these would be products that the person would need adult rating to even view them on marketplace unless somehow someone else purchased it as a gift then the non age verified person attempted to use the item that had age verified specific scripting. I'm not a scripter so like i said.. I'm not even sure how a person can make their product not work for a specific avi (other than the possibility of an age verification script of some sort). I do notice that many market adds will specify if a product needs the RLV to be enabled in order to work. Even if it doesn't say it wont work without RLV if the product says RLV in its name, description or write up it is understood that RLV needs to be turned on in world in order for the product to function. (insert personal opinion/suggestion for LL consideration for future restrictions: Most RLV games toys attachments furniture etc has in some way adult purposes even if it is a cat bed that sleeps curling up.. the intention of them being that "pet" is adult. RLV should only be able to be enabled by people who have the adult verification complete and turned on . Also items found only on the Adult rated market pages should not be able to be sent to anyone without the adult verification complete and enabled. The purchase when we type the recipient of the gifts name should fail stating lack of age verification) If the product your friend has the problem with is only supposed to be used by someone with age verification or RLV enabled or both, then your friend should get the verification if they are of age for that. If they are not of age to get verified whoever sent it to your friend could get in some serious trouble for providing the items. If it is that they don't have RLV turned on that is their choice and not the seller of the products problem if that is why it wont work (that is of course as long as the information of the product had RLV stated somewhere, anywhere in it).

You might want to look into some things like those 3rd party sites that allow you to put the pictures into a file where your customer then accesses the link u give with the password for them to download from there. This way you can share the pictures safely with them instead of uploading the pics through inventory, then them sending them back to their computer to work on then uploading the finished ads. I would imagine once the photos are done the merchant would still need to mount them on their logo background and have all their permissions, contents, materials info added where they would then have to pay to upload them anyway. It would be a safe way for you and your merchant/partners to send the art back and forth without extra upload fees before the stuff is complete.
  6. I think I remember seeing something when I made my market account saying about a max number of unassociated items. maybe if it was over that amount the surplus would get zapped. If they were still ones related to magic boxes they could be just deleting anything that is still magic box since its passed the date to switch. No sense their servers keeping the data since they cant be used now and many merchants have been gone for ages with just their boxes floating around still making sales, finally deleting all magic history must have cleaned up a lot of mess. If your unassociated weren't related to the magic boxes they couldn't have been stagnant for so long that they would get flagged for deletion due to the no action clause.
  7. If they are unlisting the item just to get rid of the review, yes I agree that is unfair practice. There can be more acceptable reasons for the disappearance to happen though that could possibly shed a kinder light on a merchant. I received a bad review once where the buyer hadn't even tried to contact me first to see if I could resolve the issue. They went straight for the thought smashing the product and painting me in a light of being some sort of swindler and worse. When i got the information about the report I Immediately investigated what the problem might be since their comments indicated that I was using false pictures to represent the item. The first thing I did was purchase the item off market for myself to make sure I got exactly what they did. there was a problem with the boxed product and it was a simple human error that was easily fixable. I had made multi items of the same style with different colour choices and one of the boxes accidently got packed with the wrong colour skirt object. Had the buyer simply left me an IM or note about their product I would have happily sent them a replacement and probably the other product they got part of by accident for their inconvience. Instead they went straight to making it sound like I was the worst sort of merchant out there. I sent them the replacement outfit (the full folder in case they threw out the one they had) with a note explaining what happened and how I would have appreciated the chance to fix the problem before doing the equivalent of going "over my head" with the report. I was glad to know of the issue so I could fix it before any other person had the same problem and also checked the history to see if anyone else had bought it needing the replacement. Here is where I explain the need to delete the item from the market. When i fixed the package and re sent it to the market it creates a second listing for the item. it would be good to be able to replace the old item with the new. If there is a way to choose replace the old object for the new keeping the same listing I would like to know. As it was the first time I had to deal with a problem like this I'm not familiar with how to do that. I sent the new item to Market and copied the listing from the old including a line about being updated/fixed but then there were 2 listings and if anyone buys the first one they will still get the bad product so the first needs to be unlisted so no-one gets it by accident. Even before I had the fix ready I needed to unlist ( I didn't delete till I knew for sure what was wrong) so that no-one else would be buying a product someone complained something was wrong with. I am aware that there are some dishonest sellers out there pulling all kinds of tricks with their listings, their store names, their avis and alts etc but some of us have good intentions and may be working at a solution to the problem wanting to get it resolved before anyone else gets disappointed. For the record I am not the person this thread was complaining about. I didn't see the name before it was taken off but I don't make skins so its defiantly not me.
  8. referring to Sassy's comment "Yes, so provide a new alpha layer. It's not like anyone is going to sue for an alpha design, that's just plain pointless! It's not difficult for a content creator to create an alpha that masks the same parts without having to redistribute the one from the kit." What your saying in this response is a fine line away from saying to just send all full perm templates we get to our computers and re upload them as out own. Maybe you think its just an alpha what does it matter but then the next person says its just a template what does it matter. There is a line specific to follow so we don't have the grey areas people can bicker over. If the license states not to transfer the textures then sending them to a hard drive and re uploading them is just a thief's way of bending the rules.
  9. Most designers that sell mesh items are using full perm builder kits and making textures so the style is more their design. When they get those kits they come with strict rules about how the products textures and maps can be used in regards to selling and transferring to the next owner. One of the biggest and most common rules in most if not all build kits is that the designer (person that bought the kit) can not give or sell any of the contents of the kit as full perms. For a designer to include the alpha templates in the package you (the end user) gets they would have to take off ether the copy or the transfer permission at the very least to stay within the rules. Changing the texture away from full perm will make it so you cant send it to your computer still. Another main rule in all the TOS agreements that come with the build kits state that the designer (person that bought the kit) can not transfer any of the items or the kit as a whole in its "as is" state. That the items must be used as a build, a part of a whole product that is now the new designers creation. We would be breaking the Build suppliers TOS specified to send the alpha template even if it was not as full permission. The designer seems to get all the bad press for this sort of thing but unless the designer is the original creator of the build supplies we have to follow very strict rules before sending on to the end user (customer). Its not as simple as saying the designers are being lazy or cheap by not adding these items into the final purchase product. The designers have to cover their butts so they don't get shut down or have their account frozen for breaking these rules that are supported by the Labs themselves
  10. I see many threads that say please help me find this or a helper replying with a market link asking if that is what the person means. I don't know about the rest of you but clicking links that random thread posters paste makes me nervous. There has been so many issues in the past to do with phishers or like data collecting or malicious links that i don't want to click them. If i don't click the link i cant know what the person is posting about. So this thread is to give kudos to the ones that post the actual pictures of what they are talking about. sure they can still put the links, but the picture makes it so people don't have to risk clicking on something i cant be sure is safe. We hear so many horror stories about people having clicked a link even from a friend and the link turned out to be something that caused them prolonged problems. The friend may have not meant for anything bad by posting that link and were most likely caught unaware as well. Id rather keep my computer in good working order so i can keep logging in. Posting the pics are great. I get that when posting a market link for a product for someone the picture may not be available so maybe the labs will create some sort of button for people to post the picture from market into the forums without having to post a link that needs clicking. I cant see the merchants having a problem with that as it gives them extra advertising anyway.
  11. Something between a casual shoe and a dress shoe. A sneaker is too casual for that and belongs more with jeans but a formal style shoe would stand out too much. With the chino style pants often a rustic/weathered darker brown leather goes well colour wise with maybe a style that looks like the bottom part of a hiking boot. The tough style thick leather with laces that have some eyelets yet some loops. This is a shoe though not a boot. In rl they are often heavy thick leather that is not an even shading all over with yellow/gold mixed with brown lacing.
  12. If you used the delete feature in the resize script menu then it is deleted not just turned off. Whenever i instruct someone to use the menu to delete the scripts to make their overall script count lower i always stress the importance of making a copy first in case they make changes to the avi in the future where they will need the sizers again. If your current ones are in fact deleted please in future always remember to take a copy before using the delete option in the script.
  13. I had an issue like this when i was colouring some greyscale skirt prims (before mesh) . When i was wearing the skirt and made one colour (say red), if I copied and pasted that skirt into the folder keeping it as red then re edited the one i still had on, to say green... the first one would still be the default colour (white). I found if i took off the skirt prim before doing the copy and paste then put it back on after it stopped the problem. If i plan to make 5 colours of the skirt prim i will make all the blank copies and wear them one at a time to change the colours. Its a strange finicky issue that just requires making the copies while not being worn and then making the colour or in your case texture changes. I can't be certain this is what is happening to you but it is worth a try.
  14. First contact the seller with a constructive request to replace the item describing the problem. Often if people are asked nice they will be happy to resolve the problem and it also lets them know there is a problem so they can take care of it before other people buy the item. They may not be aware it is doing this as it could have been a simple mistake of linking one phantom object to the rest of the build. For some reason sl changes all linked prims to the same (phantom or non) based on what the last prim linked is set to. If you go and attempt to edit the building yourself if your not familiar with building you may end up having a house u cant walk through or stairs u cant climb if you turn everything to non phantom if it was the simple mistake i suggested above. The builder will be the best one to fix it and you'll be helping future customers not to have to deal with what you are. If there is no response from the builder within a decent amount of time (don't expect instant reply as they may be on the other side of the world and asleep or only able to get in world limited times), then you have the option to put a review on marketplace if that is where you got the item or return to the store location and see if there is a manager or mailbox used to contact the maker with more results. Keep in mind there are some really old builds available for sale still on market and in world.. sometimes the original maker is long gone and others are selling in their place. In this case the seller most likely wont know how to fix it any more than you do.
  15. those rezzers are based on the items being set to temp rez then when the temp time set runs out it produces the copy again and again in the same spot. It sounds like the location you are rezzing may have a shorter time life time for temp items than the script is working on . example . if your rez box has it set to make temp particles appear for 5 mins than produces the next copy at the 5 min mark as the first will disappear at that point. the sim or land parcel may have it set that temp items only have a life span of 3 minuets so the rez script has a gap between rezzing the next copy and the time the previous copy disappears. if this turns out to be the case upon your inspection then see if the script allows you to change that life span time to match the location or gives you an option to auto detect the parcel setting so when it is used in other places it wont have problems if life span there is different than your setting. Other possibilities: if you are working at a sandbox or rez zone the return time may be set very low. in that case try somewhere that allows longer time to work. make sure you are well inside the boundaries of the area your working. if you rez the box in one place but the items being rezzed set up away from the box and ends up on the boarder of a parcel the neighbor parcel may be returning the items. (Check lost folder to see if you have multi copies of the item there to test this theory)
  16. If you give more information on your product you may get some more inquiries. Information like what the land impact is per meter or 10 meter section. If the product is modular having sections for turning corners etc, if the buyer needs to supply their own rail cars of if you make that as well with whatever scripts for movement. Give as much information you can about the existing product and what you are willing to do support wise so the person isn't left with a bunch of questions of stuff they might have to figure out themselves. Also the more info you give the more key word searches your post may show up for.
  17. if you buddy up with a mesh creator that is good, you can show them photos of what you want and get the styles made specific to your need. As for builders mesh suppliers that already exist... for the japanese style try flood. they do mesh and have a 2nd location specific for the japanese styles. If you find the main store you can pick up the landmark there to the location you need. For the other styles you can check market in the build component mesh categories and get some names of designers whose product looks to have some criteria of what you want. You can then contact the designers or check out their in world location if they have one to find out if they will make things to your specifications.
  18. I have notices lately when i upload textures the perms auto go to transfer only. Right click on the item choose properties and check in here that it is in fact set to full perm for the next user. When i find the ones that auto upload as transfer only it ends up not loading into my texture sorter properly. Before I never had this issue so i think something has changed in recent versions of the viewers. If it is in fact set to full perm for next owner disregard these ideas but it is a good idea to check anyway.
  19. The section of clothing over the implants will be as opaque or as transparent as you make the template for them. First make sure you have the colour of your clothing layer set to white. When i first got mine i played with the colour hud that comes with them and those settings save in your implants until you change it back to nothing. From what i have read here it sounds like it is the template upload itself that is causing the issue. In your art program where you have your template... the original one u made the top from... your top had all clear layer under it so when you uploaded you saw the top how you want it.. right? The upload for the appliers need to be the same.. BUT you can use the same template you did for the original system clothing layer... this way there is no extra upload cost and you know they wont get mixed up. Another poster gave you some variables to put onto the configure notecard of the developers applier using offsets and repeats. That is for using the exact same template as your original top was made from. Simply change the data the other poster showed in the configure notecard of the developer applier and copy the uuid of your template texture into that card at the right spot. Save it, close the edit box then click applier to see the results. I suspect the extra opacity and the strange shading over the chest in the photo was due to an attempt to add extra shadow map to the custom made applier template you uploaded. If your using the original template in the art program to scale and fit over the map provided in the developer kit you don't need any extra shades or filters. Doing that will just make the texture different from your original.
  20. Drongle has some good points. For some reason when you link regular prims with mesh it can make the prim count multiply. There are certain prims that make this happen more than others. The more features on the prim like hollowing and cutting as well as the prim types like torus and ring count big. Linking sculpt to mesh will also make the count get very high. When i build buildings i use hollow prims often to cut the count down but when linking to mesh your outer walls count for less if they are all individual prims instead of hollow. Also in the features tab if you use anything other than the none/prim choice it multiplies the count as well even if not using mesh. If i choose convex hull and link like prims it cuts the prim count in half but if i link them to a hollow skewed spiral stair all of a sudden the prim count is through the roof. If your planning on doing a lot of these builds where you want to use mesh there are for a cost of course (but if u use them lots it will balance out) build kits that have wall shapes with door and window cut outs, preformed roof lay outs, stairs windows etc all in mesh so you could make the entire build mesh. Before buying these try and get information on how many prims each would be. Also consider, with mesh size matters... an example demo shown in a store may be smaller than your avi and show low prim count but once it is blown up to useable size the prim count will be higher. If you want to keep using the prims exactly as you have them a way around the prim count problem is to do a soft link keeping the mesh pieces linked as one set and the non mesh as another linked object. This can pose a problem for the end use customer as not all buyers understand how to edit a soft link and its not the most profesional way to do things. A way around this is to get one of them rez box products that you put your objects (one is link set of mesh two is link set of non mesh) into this and the customer rezzes the box and clicks the menu to rez the full build as one. They only move the box after that and it will move everything in relation to each other. Different options of this box has different features like locking the build in place or saving the desired information etc so that you will need to read up on before selecting one. It is also a good way to be able to use the phantom prims with the non phantom prims. If you have any of these in your build they could be the 3rd item you place in the box. Follow all the instructions that come with the box rezzer as there are some that involve using temp objects if it is meant as a low prim rezzer.
  21. Unless there is a reason you don't want the item transferable it is a good idea to stick with no copy no mod yes transfer that way if the person wants to give it as a gift they can. A way around the problem of not wanting to leave it mod is to instal a re-sizer script. seems a bit silly if it is only one prim but this way they can size the art no matter how many prims but not risk altering the art to not represent the creator vision. Some of these are even available for free on marketplace. One thing to look at when picking a resize script is that some specify it will break with nano prims, so if your art has nano prims in it you will need a different choice of script. Make sure you put the permissions on not only the contents of the object but also on the object itself if you want to make it locked down as you say. Also a way around only being able to se more than 2 of the permission categories to no.... you could try to set the object permission as no mod no copy then in the contents make the items there to be no mod no transfer and do a test by sending it to a friend or alt to see if all 3 permissions arrive as no.
  22. If the issue you were having was last night there was a lot of things not working across the grid at that time. I had friends messaging all over having lag, scripts and pose balls not working etc. When one friend tp'd me to their place to see if it was just them with issues or the place they were at it broke some of the hud scripts i had on even just being there. Good think i knew how to go in and reset scripts or put them to running. I had thought my ao was toast. Anyway it it only started last night i would go ahead and assume it was whatever was going wrong on the grid at the time and try again another day when your not having any noticeable issues with your avi or location.
  23. I would first look on marketplace for some stores that sell mesh in the kind of styles you like. Some on their store page will have a link to the inworld store. grab it and take a field trip. If the lm isn't on their page copy the store name and look it up in search. If your a shop aholic one way of getting to know some of the in world stores is to participate in the hunts (scavenger style) some free some for small fees. You collect the items along the way as well as the landmarks for the next locations (some are now using blogs for the landmarks instead). This way u get your shopping fix and get to see a lot of stores you might not have seen otherwise. Check out what they have when your there and you might find what you want. You could also try googling some secondlife blogs on mesh. They have them on every other topic so why not. You might get some information and landmarks on the cutting edge products.

I get this issue on some things as well. it shows more on some colours than others. i have tried other combinations like using top with underpants or top with pant or undershirt with pant etc. Even with extending the paint past the templates outer edge before uploading it still shows. I believe it is a gap in how they made the avi after i kept painting farther and farther past the line with no change. One thing I did not test was if it changed based on the avi shape. I am not sure if it only shows when the textures get stretched more and may be less visible on smaller shapes but more visible on bigger ones. Ether way, when customers think the designer did bad work and it is something that there is no way around it is frustrating.
  25. use google key words such as secondlife, skin, tutorial, youtube, vidio, in combination with secondlife as the key words so you dont get un relevant things. Also check the knoelwdgebase topics under creating there are many links to tutorials there
