I will start with saying this particular problem has never happend to me before and I have always used the 3rd party viewers to send my products to MP. When I open my merchant outbox I am getting a messege saying that anyone can sell on MP and to create a merchant store. I cannont send my items to my already existing store. I have checked the MP store by logging into it and making sure there are no red flags put on by the labs and to make sure the page still opens. The store is still there on MP but when i try and load the outbox it doesn't seem to be finding it. Please help as any new items cant be listed until this is resolved.

why do my linden purchases through paypal account keep failing?
TishaRogue posted a question in Linden Dollars (L$)
I have tried multi times to purchase lindens using my paypal account. I have used this paypal account on sl before and it worked then so i don't know why it's not working now. I tried all the usual tricks. Tried ordering through the dashboard using 2 different paths then tried ordering through the button in the viewer with still no success. I have emptied the viewer caches, the web browser caches, rebooted the modem and computer, tried ordering while logged into sl and while logged out, tried ordering from a different computer all together. I have gone to the sl wiki and done what is suggested there looking on paypal page to c if an update is needed (none was but i did it anyway) The name address and email are all present and current on paypal and sl, they match in both places. The card the paypal is attached to is linked to the bank account and has been verified both on paypal and sl and has been used for sl purchase before and worked. The card is not expired and currently works. I have tried all the things i could think of and all that i have found posted and i still keep getting the purchase declined, I have tried using smaller amounts even though it wasn't much to start with and I have made sure that the purchase is above the minimum allowed for paypal on my account. Help please this is frustrating and i have been working on this problem for hours and need the access to the lindens (i.e. rent to pay things to buy, ?economy to keep alive) help help help any ideas -

It is possible that the rental company you pay the tier from forgot to pay the fee to the labs -
Do I have to be "Voice Enabled" to Hear others Speak?
TishaRogue replied to Esathorn's topic in General Discussion Forum
Voice is automatically enabled unless u uncheck the box for it. If you uncheck the box you wont hear anyone and your mic wont accidently turn itself on which happens often in sl. If you dont have a mic you will still hear others speaking unless you have unchecked the enable button. You can choose to turn down or off specific avis mics if you wish to only hear some people but not other more offending ones. That is the sound sliders you get with the headset button (firestorm not sure about sl viewer) It is possible that you could have your voice dissabled and you can still hear things such as gestures or media that would sound like people talking but if you know what the people were saying and it matches what they say than maybe it is their viewer that is malfunctioning. -
strange about that comparing vote box to traffic thing since some of us just refuse to hit the things since really isn't a vote supposed to be if u actually like the place. Often we go places cause people we know teleported us there and we stay to hang with them not because we actually like the location. I only vote if there is something about the place that is over and above the norm of what i like otherwise well im lying if i slap a vote for a place just cause someone told me to.

Lock SL into certain IP addresses?
TishaRogue replied to Suki Hirano's topic in General Discussion Forum
i can see how some people might think this would be a good idea so the accounts cant be hacked but consider the trouble that would be caused if say your computer broke down and you had to log in on another one. It's not like we always have forewarning when something happens to our beloved computers so we cant always change the info before the bad stuff happens and if it is locked so you cant change it after the fact. -
when you get the simulator excuse try logging in at a different location. if the last location is set on your viewer switch it to home or vsvs. if last location was home you can pick another location if you have your preferences set up to show your favorites bar. I always have that choice activated for situations like this. If you have no favorites set up for this then pick a random place you remember the name of or check out the sl home page that has the maps where you can pick a random place that is showing online. If logging to a different place doesn't help then the problem could be bigger so check the dashboard for any current issues for log ins. If there is no current issues and you still cant log in you might need to clear cache. Sometimes that is a fix all.

Well for whatever reason its not opening for you id suggest waiting to buy anything till its all cleared up. Just cause it suddenly lets u get on the page doesn't mean it wont eat your purchase. Give it time to clear its indigestion.

Why is my marketplace listing for thigh high mesh boots being put in adult rating?
TishaRogue replied to TishaRogue's question in Creation
I listed a thigh high mesh boot in marketplace store and it keeps getting put as adult category. I don't have any suggestive words or anatomical parts in the picture so i don't know what i need to change to get it listed as general. I have seen many thigh high boots in general listing when i search for products so that cant be the reason. the title of the item is "Suede thigh highs mesh". thigh would be the most racey word in the whole listing. Please help as no one is going to see this item if it is listed as adult. add on: i tried taking out all reference to the word thigh in the add and the item name. I sent in a new item naming it suede high boot (mesh). No body parts were mentioned in the revised version. It still got bumped into adult rating *****more info**** i listed another mesh item today that was a simple sweater that was also rigged mesh. This also got put into the adult category when there is nothing adult about it. Is this something happening to all rigged mesh items now? How do i get around this before i list more mesh items that will never get seen buried in the adult section? OMG!!! we have a solution after wining to so many people that we finally came up with a possibility... It's a doozy. The size listing of the xxs and xxl was setting off the adult rating it must think it is xxx rated or something. Stupidest part is that writing the sizing out long form like extra extra small or even 2extra small with all the other sizes doesn't fit in the number of characters given for the descriptions. Labs please tell the scripts not to flag sizing as adult!!! -

Clothing Merchants... How do you stay organized???
TishaRogue replied to Arielle Simondsen's topic in Merchants
i keep a very detailed folder system keeping all the build stuff away from my normal inventory. i use the texture folder for this. each folder has sub folders and sub folders examples will by typed like this: [ ] square brackets around the main folder name. { } brackets around the first set of sub folders. ( ) around the inner sub folders listed directly after the folder listed before it < > for any extra folders within them ones. [done full, {ready for market. (builds, cloths, etc), archives, (now unlisted, never listed), promo/gift}] [texture huds, {filled, empty}] [textures to load] [going projects, {components put together, starter system cloths, mesh,((sub categories for each individual project in each folder))}] [clothing stuff,{techy things, ((huds, scripts, menus etc)), texture huds for clothing, my template storage, clothing textures to load in hud, sculpts/mesh kits (accessories ((jewels, belts, etc)), clothing parts ((skirts, arm and leg parts, neck parts, coats, etc)), shoes, furry/neko including wings, weapons, etc depending what u make)}] [sculpt/mesh, non clothing related {store packaging, kits in a box (mesh, furniture, big build, outdoors, seasonal, etc), opened and using}] That about sums it up other than the odd working folder here and there. some may have more sub folders or less depending on how detailed they get. the ones i don't use very often i will box up in a prim and name it with a few !!! in front of it like !!! shoe storage and put all the already boxed shoe kits into this then keep it in the top of that folder to easily find. only draw backs doing tat is A/ if the servers r having a fart they might eat a non copy box ( so I re-box the stuff getting rid of anything that is no copy in there often it is the sample which I will make a new copy of the sample to stay in the box and get rid of the no copy one) and B/ if your not specific about what goes where it might take a while to find what you want stored in the boxes. The texture huds are very specific as well. i have categories for tops pants outfits male and female then other folders for leather, jewels, notions, lace, knit, skirt materials, etc depending on what you need. there are some free large size texture huds out there but only some of them can be downsized enough to be made to fit the screen for a hud. mine takes up about 3/4 of the screen and is as small as it goes. make sure when you wear the hud that your in a place that can work scripts and take the lag but it does solve the issue of needing a place with a lot of prims for rezzing and the issue of strangers stealing your templates. Once you rez the normal texture sorter on the ground and can get it reduced in size enough you can attach it as a hud to center screen then you might need to rotate the angle to see the front but it works the same as when u rez it on the ground. -
regarding the other posters answer suggesting to unlist then associate. How do you do this? Does the original stay unlisted and u list the new one with the associate (however it is that you tell it to associate) or do u re-list the first one and associate the 2nd one? If we are fixing a problem we don't want the future customers to be getting the faulty products by accident after going through the work of fixing it to make customers happy in the first place. If you could give a more detailed description how to do this it would be appreciated since its not something we want to make mistakes on, thanks

I find the best way to start in making any material texture on a garment template is to start with a seamless greyscale (white black and shades of ) version of the material itself. This material needs to be flat not rippled and stuff. You only want it to get the texture of the weave. When you place it on a layer under your shadow map in your art program. At this point u still have your template map to know where things go and your shadow map is most likely set as multiply... but you may choose another type of filter for that. When you start adding in things like your highlights and shadows you then set those layers as grain merge. This makes the highlight and shadow keep the grain of the material below instead of looking like paint on top. for the shadow map being set at multiply tends to make things on the shiny flat glossy side so you may want to test all the settings for that to see if another one works better for your specific project. For silk and satin it may work fine. all this information is still using the photoshop or gimp style art programs that have the layers available but don't require too much art other than what you feel is needed for quality.

cloths: I like ADN and Virtual. They have full outfits and many ways to get prizes and gifts. When i help new people this is the sort of place i introduce them to so they can feel good about their look fast and not be searching free malls for shoes that look good which don't exist in free malls. I support stores that make it possible for newer members to like this world and want to be here. shoes:^^^ above. they come with the outfits to match even if they are paws. Makes life easy. Hair: sweet hairs because they have a gift for new avis. hairs are hard to get without breaking rules or relying on hand outs with strings when your new. Magica because they have colour huds not taking up miles of inventory or making you stick to one colour only plus they have lower rez weights than some of the other hairs. skins: stores that have gifts or participate in hunts (with normal markings and make up). It sure beats a demo. We can test the skin for a long while and decide what we want over time knowing how it looks in all lights and angles. Its so hard to see the quality of a skin with demo markings all over it and this way we don't end up disappointed. we know exactly what were getting. AO: Oracul. not only do they have flips and fun jumps but they give plenty of variety so you don't get bored quick (you must like moving around a lot or being fidgety). Tutys have some nice classy ones and have less movement for a more life like look but i like my flips. Builds supply: Ones that try and get customers into their shop. Ones that don't make so many of their own seller rules that it makes it difficult to use their product for promo items. Ones that have demos for their rigged mesh. (some on market have no demo or say get it in world... make it easy for us people if i have to chase u down for a demo your not going to be readily available if i need customer service ether)

Any incidents in which "recreations" are removed?
TishaRogue replied to Fusionbolt2000's topic in Fashion
If you see something that has an actual logo or is a likeness of something that you know would have a copy write or tm in rl then its probably someone going against the rules. It may have an odd chance that they got the license rights and if that is the case they would be happy to show proof of that. If you ask if they have the license and they don't respond ... then guess what.. they aint got none. Any makers out there that use logos or likenesses should automatically state that they have the legal rights in their products listing so you have no doubt. Often i will pass over a product with tm stuff on them assuming they don't have the permissions so if they want the sale they will give the proof. -
there is another forum post about a new fashion blog for males. maybe check that out or contact the author to see if they know. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Fashion/New-Fashion-Blog-For-Men/td-p/2094769

before mesh came along people that had the furry avis that had the unusual shapes had sculpt cloths. With them they can usually be sized in edit or by menu for your specific avi if they are still available. The furies i know have trouble getting cloths other than loin cloths or pants with cut off bottoms. If the avis are mesh it would for sure be nice if they produced a builders full perm kit for the mesh cloths to go over them that way there would be more variety in style for the customers.

I've had some low riding cloths that need that for the front girly bits. for now i just use a different skin that doesn't have the detail ride as high but the plan is for a tint-able panty to blend in with the skin.

I've had some blogs of store items and they were done in different ways. One was someone that put together items for a blog photo and simply listed the items in the photo and alerted the designers that they used their product in the photo. Another was someone taking photos of pics that were in a hunt event i participated in. I'm not sure if it was a freebie blog or one that was set up for the specific hunt as it wasn't in english so I had a friend loosely translate. Again it was mostly the list of what the items were and who by. That one i wasn't alerted about, it was a friend that saw it and gave me the link. Then there are the blog photos that were done for an event that each merchant pays for their prim space in. The event itself arranges the bloggers and gives the names for us to send the products to. In this case it is also just photos with the information of what store it came from. None of these ones had any written opinions or descriptions. It was just picture, store, creator, price and if lucky a LM. If it is the sort of blog where your asked to write your thoughts than that can be touchy if your working for someone specific as they wont want their merchant customers angry yet you want to let the shoppers know the truth. I believe most of the blogs that have opinions are ones that the merchant isn't pulling any strings on and is a surprise to even them.

We get many that come to sl as experienced designers in other worlds. You'd think it would be easy to just make an account and get to work. Afraid not. Even for seasoned designers there is a steep learning curve. The only way you'll even understand some of the instructions given here is to get into the world and mess around with stuff. Learn your viewer, learn your world, go around stores and try their product, see how its done and come on the forums and see where its going. Then you'll be able to know what you need. Immerse yourself, get the feel of the world, live a little.

Getting inspired by someone elses work?
TishaRogue replied to danikristine's topic in Building and Texturing Forum
I would assume if the original maker went out of business and isn't responding that they may have left sl all together. As for making knock offs... well it's legal in rl so why not here. The main down side of copying someone else's design is that people may be board of it already. Also you don't know why they went out of business. Maybe their stuff wasn't selling. Wonder why. :smileywink: As for taking inspiration from others... well some design schools that have courses on topics just like this..... well they teach that people , designers weather cloths cars, interior designers etc take some of their cues from popular culture such as current movies, musicians, tv shows etc. Look at how many shows there are based on the knock offs of the Oscar runway cloths. We all take inspiration from things we see and hear the question is how much do we make it the same and how much do we redesign to make our own. That is where the balance lays and we all have to find what works best. -
If you're just starting to learn building then I would suggest going to the Ivory tower library of primitives. There are demonstration kiosks with notecards in many languages for each category of learning to build so you can get an idea how you can torture the prim into the shape you want. Also don't discount texturing as a big part of faking a look. It wont be an up to date version of a rope but you'll learn what you can do. Other places that have lessons are Builders Brewery and NCI (i think its still there) you can find these places using the in world search feature.

Applying resize script to whole object
TishaRogue replied to Aniela Szondi's topic in Building and Texturing Forum
The script probably has the instructions in orange writing on the script itself. I have one that i only put on script for the entire item but it needs to be put into the parent prim (the one that glows yellow in edit linked parts). I suspect that is what your script wants. Before you ask, sorry no i cant sent it to you or post it as i would be going against the TOS of the seller i got it from. -
I have a similar problem where I need to test the texture in a script. I don't have the permission to change the script but the one i have works off a configure card that asks for the UUID so this solution here will work. How do i get the UUID of the texture though please? When I try and edit texture on the prims or on system cloths i can get the local texture to go on them but i don't see the UUID available there. Not sure where else to look.
