  1. Thanks for seeing if you can find the sim!! Ok, I was off on a few things: Licensed Psychologist, not Psychiatrist, still charging for therapy. Yes, this person had "clients" and it wasn't RP.
  2. I saw an avatar today on a region that claimed in her profile she was a licensed psychiatrist and she charged 19,000L for text for an hour and 25,000L for an hour of Skype. This person had no picks, nothing about herself except the pricing and the brief summary that I wrote above.. Her profile stated that she would provide credentials (I assume after payment) and she specialized in relationships. I was quite puzzled as to how she can "prove" her credentials when really anyone can make documents or websites to appear valid. I think the wellness and help groups would be very interesting as well as the regions with meditation and Reiki Groups that are formed for specific topics for any illness type is also very beneficial I feel for others to connect and share their story and receive helpful information and also support from group members. If you can think of the Reiki region can you shoot me a PM? I would like to see it --||-

  5. Hey Czari, did that computer boot up yet... Yes it must be "chic" and I find these people that complain about US companies that follow US rules/guidelines/laws to be martyrs. Plain and simple. They complain about everything and lay blame instead of educating themselves about the country in which they reside in and how these "rules" the US complies with is in accordance to their homelands laws. But you will hear a whole bunch of BS reasoning I am sure. How many times have you seem something advertised in the US and it excludes US states? Oh yeah, lol them silly laws. I am also not so happy with everything, or shall I say many things the US government does, BUT jeeez, let's get over the bash crap. If LL was based in another country I wonder how that tune would be played, how many would be whining all the time. Either educate yourself in the Laws if you participate in anything offered by a different country in which you live or pass it up. For the record, LL does not give special treatment to US customers LOL, I would love to see an example of that.

Why do people always bash the US because of their own countries rules? Ahhh... yes SL residents in other countries never counted either. What ignorance. edit. spelling
  7. No need to thank! It's what I see and feel. I know you don't want pity, sharing your story with others with hopes you can allow them to open their eyes to what reality can bring upon any of us. There is always someone worse off than us and always someone with a much less stress filled life, it's what we make from what we have I am in touch with my friend, she has RA and MS also Systemic Lupus that has affected her heart and liver. She is a strong willed person and I admire her so much. It is amazing, as you say your friend from IRC can be happy and upbeat, when others who have much in their life can't crack a smile (rl or virtual) and then project that negativity out on people they think they can give such great advice to lol. Obviously there are many great people in both worlds, just have to surround yourself with them. When you use those arrows LOL you may look a little noobish at first flying around! But hey, I still have those issues sometimes I will be listening for your WA-HOOOO very close and you will feel my smile!
  8. I know Czari, these assumptions I can't wrap my head around and they are said often by many people. I know you have been on both sides of the fence from your previous posts. I am so sorry that life has thrown you this curve and to hear of peoples lives changed so drastically because of things they had no control over saddens me. My life could change in a moment, no matter what I am today could change in a heartbeat and not because I am not responsible or even prepared for such a change it can happen and that's why I don't judge or assume things when it comes to someone's personal life and throw in some opinion about who has a right to enjoy things because of what they can or can't afford. Most people take simple things for granted, such as flipping a switch to turn on their lights, some don't even see the bills, they are just paid. I can't imagine how these type of assumptions affect you. I am sure the chronic illness alone was life changing before your financial situation did. Having to claim disability at a young age is hard enough, and if you don't have enough work quarters in the amount is almost near impossible to live on. I have a very good friend who was disabled at the age of 35 and I saw what she went through. She can't leave her home so to say because she should not enjoy the benefits of how a computer keeps her socially active and makes her feel part of the world is just damn ignorant. Sadly, she is over 2000 miles away from me now and there is only so much I can do for her now. You are one tough cookie and I am so glad to know that you are getting a new computer. I wish I could see the joy when you hit that button when you boot up that pc for the first time... Hugs, Malanya

Definition of game: electronic game played by means of images on a video screen. "you could always try to teach yourself new things" - I finished the course for installers of Solar equipment tehcnology a 2 years ago, you know what, no jobs at all here in my country. You can define a word by using the same word... :matte-motes-wink: But ok, to you it is a game, we shouldn't argue about that. I've suggested this small jobs a bit with a questionsign behind it, because I don't know how exactly the economy is structured in your country and if there are such kind of jobs availabel for you. I have a few fellow students who do tiny jobs to pay rent or afford a small car. The part with teaching was about SL. I said its not easy and it will be timeconsuming, but I would never say that you shouldn't try it, if you really want to. Classes for building and other things are free. It is not a game to me, I don't know where you even got that idea? SL to me is a place where I can interact with people I care about and enjoy unleashing my creativity in a relaxing way. I don't know what kind of jobs are available in your country as well and I won't assume, I would try and understand from what you explain. I agree that coming to sl for the sole purpose of making a living isn't based on the reality of what actually goes into making money here, tiny amount or a decent income. Many people make a rl living here, but they have worked hard and put a lot into it and some make enough just to enjoy certain aspects of sl so they don't have to purchase $L. I agree. Yes building classes, lots of textures, sculpts, etc many free ones available to learn as well as videos.
  10. I don't recall saying there was a magical land, I actually live in the real world and not everyone I know in sl has a new or fast computer, nor do they have fast internet and many live with other family members so the computer and internet our not their expense or their sole expense. Your definition of poor was not clear to me and I will say maybe because of where we are located in the world. There is no cut and dry poor where I live, there are many variations. I realize there is poverty in every country, homeless people, can't afford a coat, going to a shelter to eat, yes I get that. I didn't get the example of the guy under the bridge, but I see with your explanation, your view. I have known people who had a wealth of a life and in one quick turn all was gone due to reasons beyond their control so they may have experienced what it was like to have something, none of us are immune to that no matter how much we have in life. I do agree, people should not come to sl thinking they can make a boatload of $, but I can also see the that many may feel from seeing or hearing about how people do make money (whether a small amount or decent money) here in sl don't understand what it takes to make any kind of money here at all. So, if someone comes and ask, or had an issue, telling them to go to McDonalds and assume anything about their electronic and internet availability isn't helping them understand. The OP's next post did explain what he expected out of sl and I do agree, again, thinking to make money so fast and an amount to live in seems to be false information about sl.
  11. Key Point: "where you come from" so you shouldn't inflict what you see in your world to others around the world. You don't have to be homeless to be poor. I am not sure what you mean about laughing at a guy under a bridge, I don't understand what you mean. What is good for you, or me may not be good or doable for someone else. That's pretty simple and I am not going on the economics of any country, that's a huge generalization of what people can and can't do in my country. I won't even get into a discussion about buying a cup of coffee to buying $L. Another assumption Syo, I don't see what you wrote as aggressive, you should understand that making such assumptions about so many things will make you wrong 90% of the time.

As for the sign-up rate, why is it tumbling? Is it because of competition? I certainly hope this is not the beginning of the end of Second Life - I really would hate to see it go offline. I hate to say but it's not "young" people who cause the majority of griefing, copybotting, etc on the grid. How do you know they are actually young? You had a way to find out their rl info? I could say I was 17 and no one would know. I don't have a problem with young people, I have a problem with parents who don't spend time with their kids and who are not good role models, but IMO young people are really irrelevant to this. I would never pay a sign up fee to "try" something. You have to keep in mind that not every adult has PayPal or a Creidt Card and it would not be fair to exclude those you don't want to invest in SL but would still like to enjoy it. The talk of the end of SL is really not relevant IMO either because of young people. How many times do people say it's the end of SL for whatever subject they are talking about.
  13. Syo Emerald wrote: I thought the "where can I get the moneyyyyy????"- Newbies where all gone already... 4. If you can afford a PC and a internetconnection which both are capable of Second Life, you are not poor. No one knows the financial situation of anyone here. A computer and internet connection does not constitute wealth or the ability to purchase $L. I love how people are judged because they have valid questions and that always gets thrown in there about owning a computer and having an internet connection. Do you know how I got MY computer, if it's new or old? Do you also know if I live with someone? Do you know how much money I have? How much I allot myself to spend on what is considered entertainment?NO you don't. People should quite assuming so much. I have noticed a pattern of some being humble when they post on another well known SL forum. where they are new members, yet here where they have been posting for some time, there is a different tone. I find that interesting.
  14. I hope she finds people to have fun with. We sure could use more people to show new residents the magic of sl.. but I am sure there are a few out there that she will run into. Oh, I heard that SOME parents aren't always right, just sayin, could be a rumour
  15. redxrob wrote: Doesn't anybody understand the difference between rent and sale on here Land for sale is for slling not renting and Lant for rent is for is for well land for rent what part of that don't you understand! Whaaaa? Oh, I do yes. I had to read the post a few times before I tried to understand your point. Well, yes renting and selling is the same it's still renting a virtual space on a server from LL, no matter how you flip the words . BUT now if I OWNED one of those servers, I guess I would actually own the land... right? :matte-motes-big-grin-evil:

My interpretation is different. claudiasoftcloud wrote: i'm pretty shy but i am a little foxie, i guess i am a furry but i wont ever annoy anyone or be a burden, i am sort of quiet and out of the way as i mentioned but i am very friendly. and i hope to meet you all in game. I don't think she meant it that way either. Her sentence above seems to be run on lacking punctuation. It's a shame when people post that are new, the first thing that happens is the dissecting of their post and then getting replies that are judgemental and really don't have much to do with the OP lol. It's like your parents yelling at you. edit to add OP quote
  17. Yep Thanks good idea. It's a shame so many have had problems. I used to hear a lot in group chat so I know there is many.

OK, I am going to take a shot here... maybe it's called integrity that's my best suggestion I can come up with.
  19. I know, you have to wonder why they even posted in the first place if they can't ride out the thread lol
  20. I, like others have so many issues with this creator and also Lear. I have purchased items in world never received them and when I contacted both Lear and A. E. Worx, creators, .. nothing no replies. I did manage to see the creator of Worx on the sim one day, IM'd him and was told it was not his problem and to contact Lear (though it was Worx item) and then I was muted. I have no idea how they manage to remain in world or on MP, but I would AR also and I have.

  24. Well, I think so At least something similar, especially when you post threads like this http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Wanted/empty-sim/m-p/1915125 and then a few months later within days post something like this http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Wanted/Need-land-for-vice-combat/m-p/2048675 Not posting to be rude, but what is wrong with understanding how much land costs and real people pay with real money? These topics come up for "I need a home and will pay you when I get some money" a lot too.
  25. You're welcome, your badge looks very nice @Tristan ... shhh.. I had to go look and remember how I did it, I didn't post this from memory
