  1. And kindly don't talk down to me like that. Your post said the following: "Call it radar or minimap". They are two completely different things. You called it "radar" so I checked the Radar. Had you said "Minimap" I would have checked the Minimap. I have just logged the alt in again and this time I've taken screenshots of the minimap from both points of view. Image 1: Point of view of the muted avatar. The avatar who muted him is still on his contacts list, so the dot shows up as yellow: Image 2: Point of view of the avatar who has done the blocking. (The aqua background shows that we're both standing on prims that I've created.) The muted avatar is still on his contacts list, hence the dot is yellow: Image 3: Point of view of the muted avatar, after the other avatar has removed him from his contacts list. The dot of the avatar who has muted him is now green.
  2. This is incorrect. The green dot on Firestorm's radar shows that the avatar is in the same region as you. Nothing more. To demonstrate this, I logged in my main account and my store's inventory and texture mule alt. All of the following screenshots were taken with the current latest version of Firestorm, which is 5.0.1.52150 Image 1: Before muting. From the point of view of the avatar on the right. The green dot on the radar denotes that the avatar on the left is in the same region (see tooltip). The green text denotes that the avatars are within 20m (chat distance) of each other. Image 2: After muting/blocking. From the point of view of the avatar on the right. The green dot on the radar denotes that the avatar on the left is in the same region (see tooltip in the first image). The green text denotes that the avatars are within 20m (chat distance) of each other. The italics denote that the avatar on the left is now muted. Image 3: After muting/blocking. From the point of view of the avatar on the left (the muted avatar). The green dot on the radar denotes that the avatar on the right is in the same region (see tooltip in the first image). The green text denotes that the avatars are within 20m (chat distance) of each other. The $$ denotes that the avatar on the right has payment info on file. There is nothing else in the radar to show the avatar on the left that he has been muted.
  3. Heh, thank you. I looked for about an hour last night and found a few things. One or two decent tops, but precious little in the way of pants and footwear, and don't even get me started on the hair... MP uses capitalised Boolean search operators such as NOT and AND. To exclude demos you would type dress NOT demo. I'd also add NOT _demo, NOT .demo, NOT D:E:M:O, NOT D_E_M_O (eh, you get the idea) to try and filter out those smartarses who get clever with the naming. And, of course, there are always the lazy sods who copy the same set of keywords into every single one of their listings, regardless of relevance...
  4. I'd try this, but have you seen the stuff that's available for male avatars for only L$1? *shudders* I could do it, but I'd need some time to track down some decent stuff.
  5. Most of the larger grocery stores here in the UK offer a choice of delivery or click & collect (order online and pick up in-store). It's really convenient if you don't live near enough, or can't get to the store for any particular reason. Delivery usually involves a small fee (which scales according to what day and time you want to receive your items), but some of the stores offer saver deals whereby you pay a fixed amount per month (something small, like £6 or so) and can have unlimited deliveries, no matter which day. There's usually a minimum order amount for delivery. Most stores have that set at £40.
  6. I got added bonus thunder with my cloudburst this morning. No lightning, just a lot of rather epic growling, rumbling noise. I now have all the windows flung open around the house, a line full of laundry, and I'm waiting for my grocery delivery which is due any minute (lazy sod, me). I have to work Sunday and Monday, so I'm just kicking back and enjoying my one-day weekend. Have a great time at the beach, Benjamin
  7. I'm not familiar with female skins, but one thing that springs to mind is: were the head and body appliers released at roughly the same time? It may be that the head is an older (or newer) one, and it matches an older (or newer) set of skin appliers - assuming the creator may have updated one or other set more recently. Failing that, it's probably worth contacting the creator and including a couple of snapshots from different angles to show the issue, and ask if there's a fix available - either in the form of a neck fade or an update to the appliers. You might also try getting the demo of another female body which you have Genesis appliers for (Slink would probably be the best option) and see if the join is still visible there. If it's not, then there's a slim chance the Genesis creator has possibly uploaded Slink textures into the Maitreya body applier HUD. (It's highly unlikely, given that they're probably mapped differently, but I've seen stranger things happen!)
  8. I hope you can get a good match with it. A couple of other things to remember when you're picking the colour: make sure you don't have Advanced Lighting enabled, as shadows will affect the colour of your skintone, and also move away from any light sources such as those that may be in your home. (Take off any face and/or body lights you may be wearing, too.) Be aware that you probably won't get a perfect match all the way around the wrists or ankles. Most skins vary in tone and are not 'flat', so there might be patches where there's a visible join. The pricier models of mesh hands and feet (I'm thinking of Slink here) come with wrist and ankle blender tattoo layers, which will help to make that joining point more seamless. In fact, if you go to the Slink store inworld and pick up the demos of their hands and feet, inside the demo packs you'll actually have those blender layers. They're fully-usable and not demos (only the hands and feet themselves are demos.) In the hands demo pack you'll find them inside the Manual Skin Matching bag, and in the feet demo pack they're in the three Ankle Blender layers bags and the Alternative Blenders bag. (I just sent an alt to the Slink store to pick those up and test them, and they work perfectly. They're also tintable, in case you can't get a perfect match.)
  9. @LittleMe Jewell Happy to help I've been using that colour picker app for some time now, and it's brilliant. @angeoco I would have recommended appliers, too, but for two reasons: the OP stated that she purchased "a pair of cheap hands and feet", so it's highly unlikely that those will be Omega-compatible, and secondly there's a chance that - depending on how old it is (and, to a lesser extent, if it's from a discount section) - her skin didn't come with appliers.
  10. You can open the Debug menu (CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + S), search for DebugShowColor and set it to 'true'. Alternatively, if you're using the Firestorm viewer, just open the Quick Preferences window (the toolbar button with the Firestorm logo on it) and the Color Under Cursor option is right there with a radio button to toggle it on and off. Your other option is to install a colour-picker app. I use GetColor! from WinCatalog, which I find much easier than the SL cursor option, since it doesn't constantly change the RGB values slightly as you move the mouse. Click to pick the colour, then copy the RGB. Make sure you're using a good Windlight setting - such as Caliah WL, AnaLutetia Avatar Opt, or Annan Adored Optimal Skin - when you pick the colour, so you get as close a match as you can, and pick the colour for your hands and feet as close as possible to where they join your body.
  11. Skell's been emptying my wallet again. Another couple of Stray Dog appliers. And the last picture is his response to my complaining about his shopping habit Credits Outfit: Ascend - Hachiro Hair: Dura - B77 (dark) Head applier: Stray Dog - Uriel (browless - buttermilk) Body applier: L'Etre - Buttermilk* Brow applier: Avi-Glam - LOGO Eyebrows Hairbase applier: Stealthic Glasses: Baiastice - Sunglasses Fraffi** (silver) Eyes: Avi-Glam - Ardent Eyes (fjord) Head: Catwa - Daniel Body: Slink Physique Male Hands: Slink Dynamic Male Poses: Gingerfish *currently not available **very old item, probably no longer available I did try the Omega appliers that Stray Dog has out for their new body skin, but they're mapped to the Signature body and don't quite work with the Slink body. The ankle join is very obvious with Slink feet (makes sense, given that Signature has built-in feet) and there's a visible join at the front of the neck. so I'll hold out and hope that they make body appliers mapped to the Slink body, too.
  12. @Talligurl You probably have a different gadget than I do, since the one I purchased doesn't have a demo. I'm not sure about the Firestorm conversion option, but I can tell you the way the gadget that I have generates its faces is by texturing. Each differently-textured face on the original prim build will be rendered as a distinct face on the final .dae file, to a maximum of eight faces (I think it's eight; don't quote me on that!) If you have six faces with the same texture on the prim build, they will be a single face in the final mesh creation. In short: you build the item in prims, texture it, then set the entire thing to transparent. You then view transparent and set only the visible faces to opaque (thus the transparent faces aren't rendered in the final file). After that, you add the gadget's script and wait for the link to download the .dae file. Once you upload it, you then re-texture it, and each face that you used a single texture on will be textured at the same time. Example: That's a really quick and simple set of shelves that I made. It's only got three textures on it: the detailed carving, the scratched wood, and the golden edging. When I dragged the carving texture onto the back 'wall' of the shelves after importing the mesh file, all of the side walls (both inside and out) were instantly textured with the texture repeats and offsets retained from my original prim build. I hope that made sense. It's late here and I've had a long day and am about falling asleep on my keyboard
  13. That's not something we forum users can help you with, Franky. Only Linden Lab can help you with this issue. Log into secondlife.com and go to Help > Support, then open a support ticket. Explain in the ticket that you would prefer help to be given in Spanish if possible. I'm sure someone in the Support section will speak it fluently enough to help you. One thing I will suggest, though, and that is: change the password for your email account. No matter what happens with your support ticket about these extra avatar accounts, changing your the password for your email account will stop anyone who may have access to it and be using it to create new accounts (or changing the passwords for existing ones).
  14. Colour? COLOUR?! Heh. Thank you for considering my pedantic British sensibilities, though While I've got that bonkers birdie look going on, I may as well show the whole thing (well, minus the boots) replete with creditses. 15. People want different things from their online lives. Some - like you - want things to look great and won't consider even trying something if it looks "like crap". Others - like your brother and sister - take a risk on the crappiness and find something much deeper behind the visuals. They may have discovered the joy of selling something they made themselves, or the fun of dancing the night away in freebie flexi dresses and tuxedos, and socialising with people from all around the world, regardless of what they and those others (and their surroundings) looked like. Two of my favourite games of the past couple of years are Stardew Valley and Starbound. I've seen hardened veterans of games such as COD and Witcher come to Stardew Valley for a bit of a breather, and then sink hundreds of hours into it because it gets under their skin and they can't let it go. Both SDV and Starbound are little pixellated games by indie developers (a single dev, in the case of SDV) and - by AAA standards - they look "like crap", but both of them have such a lot of heart and humour beneath their old-fashioned visuals that even those people who practically live in triple-A games can't resist them. Lastly: There. I fixed that for you
  16. A cross between a sketch and a cartoon sounds like it could be some of Nylon Pinkney's earlier work. Does this oldest-first Marketplace search bring up images that look like the avatar you saw? (Those are a little less cartoonish than her older work, btw.) Nylon made two of the early default avatars, which are probably still available somewhere, possibly at Stillman Bazaar. ETA: If those images don't look quite polished enough, reverse the search to newest-first, just in case. Her style has evolved a little bit over the years.
  17. I'm going to add tea into the mix, because right now Britain needs tea

  19. I was about to come back and post that, @Ansiri! I wanted to take a screenshot of how to access one's order history on the Marketplace website, since that normally tells you when a purchase delivery has failed or is in-progress, and I found that the Order History link doesn't work. Clearly it's been temporarily taken down while they work on this issue, otherwise they'd be flooded with re-delivery requests. @Laurel Bradders - Hang fire on doing anything and keep checking the status link that Ansiri posted above. Once the all-clear is given on that page, log into Marketplace, click the downward-facing arrow beside 'My Marketplace' at the top of the page, then go to My Account > Order History. That will tell you whether the delivery failed (which is most likely the case, due to the current issue). Failed deliveries will initially take the money from your account, but it will re-appear in your balance after a certain length of time, so you shouldn't be out-of-pocket. Usually it can take anything up to eight hours for the money to reappear, but because of these current issues I'd wait 24 hours. If the delivery isn't listed as failed, it still won't show up in your inventory for quite some time, as there will be a backlog of deliveries for the servers to work through. Finally, if you do eventually receive two copies of the same AO and were charged for both of them, that is then the time to contact the merchant inworld and give them the details of both transactions (copied from that order history page), mentioning that the Marketplace issues were probably the cause of it. The merchant should then refund you the cost of the duplicate purchase. In the meantime, as @Alwin Alcott mentioned, it's always best to try AOs out for yourself. If the merchant has an inworld shop, go there and use the demo stand for the AO you want. It's impossible to see what animations look like just from images on a website (unless the merchant has included GIF files of each animation).
  20. Unreceived and accidentally discarded items Has it been more than 24 hours since you ordered? If so, contact the merchant, explain what happened, and politely request redelivery of the item. If it has been less than 24 hours, please be patient and check again later. If the merchant doesn't respond, you can submit a support case requesting redelivery. Make sure to include the order number and the exact name of the undelivered item(s). Note: If an item purchased on the Marketplace using PayPal or a credit card is not successfully delivered to you, the credit or debit will not appear in your transaction history, and the merchant will have no record of the purchase. Simply try to purchase the item again. If you accidentally discard an item, contact the merchant, explain what happened, and politely request redelivery of the item. Often the merchant will understand and redeliver, especially if the item in question isn't "no-copy." Unfortunately, Marketplace deliveries, unlike items sent manually from another avatar, are completely discarded and can't be retrieved from the Trash.
  21. I actually have that thread bookmarked. Here you go. It was so damn funny it was worth keeping The OP wanted lists of high-traffic regions where traffic was being gamed. So they inevitably got lists such as - DiscussAsmuchAspossible - which they fell for. And thus it went on: UnbelievablyIdontthinksheGetsit QuixoteCervantesSanchopanzaWindmillsofyourmind IlikebigButtsandIcanNotlie ... they all got added to the list, in all seriousness. And then some. Comedy gold

  23. Use Search to find a sandbox, teleport there, then drag the boxes one at a time out of your inventory onto the ground. They might unpack automatically, or you may have to left- or right-click them to open them and select 'copy to inventory'.
  24. Put simply (and generalising a little) - Resize scripts are often placed in items to help you make them bigger or smaller. You click the item, then choose a percentage that you want to resize it by. Sometimes it's an all-over resize, and sometimes you get the option to resize along different axes (X, Y, and/or Z) of the item, stretching it in one direction only. Scripts can also be used to change the colour of items or their texturing, but resizing is the most common use. The old way of doing this was to put a script into every single prim (aka: each individual part) of the item, together with one controller script. Given that you can have a maximum of 255 prims in a single linkset, that was a possible 256 scripts in one worn object. Each one of those scripts would have to be checked by the simulator server every few seconds, resulting in the simulator getting bogged down. Imagine multiple people all wearing heavily-scripted items, and it's easy to see how laggy it can be. Even just one person wearing badly-scripted hair, shoes, necklace, bracelets, and earrings could be a walking lagfest. You'll most often find these poor examples of script-resizing in older items: frequently hair, jewellery, and footwear. Newer items make use of a much less heavy scripting method so they're less of an issue. If such an item is modifiable it will sometimes have a 'remove scripts' option when you click to resize it. Alternatively, you can use a free script called a 'scrubber' that you can put into the contents of the item, and that will remove the scripts for you. (It's always advisable to keep a backup copy before removing scripts, in case you need to revert to the original again at any point.)
